Ubers Championship IV
━━━━━━━━━▲━━━━━━━━━

2021 Ubers Circuit Standings

Following a lengthy and rigorous year of tournaments, we finally find ourselves presented with a star-studded Top 16 featuring some of the most competitive and highly touted players Ubers has to offer. Congratulations to every single one of you for making it this far, and good luck in this final step, the pinnacle of our fourth annual circuit, the Ubers Championship IV. By the end of these playoffs, which of the following players will be crowned the 2021 Ubers Champion and earn themselves the highly coveted Ubers Circuit Ribbon? Will Exiline repeat as Ubers champion or will a new name rise up and claim the championship for the first time? Stay tuned to find out!

Tournament-Specific Rules
Standard Rules and Clauses
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same PokeDex number on his team.
  • Evasion Clause: The moves Double Team and Minimize are banned. (No other evasion boosting things are banned).
  • OHKO Clause: The moves Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Fissure are banned.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.
  • Sleep Clause: Limit one foe put to sleep.
Identity

About playing on alts: It is entirely allowed to play on an alt other than your own main forum name, though if your opponent wishes to confirm your identity, you must log on to your main alt to show them you are who you claim to be. This is to prevent people from pretending to be who they're not.

About playing on different servers: The matches must be played on either the Smogtours server or the Main PS! server if both parties agree to that. Other servers are not sanctioned by the host(s) and playing in them might result in your game not counting. Protect yourself from that by playing on Smogtours.

Scouting

On scouting opponents: Going through your opponents replays of tournament and ladder games is entirely allowed, as long as a game is public there is nothing preventing you from watching it. An exception to this is abusing powers granted to you by being staff on Smogon or PS! to gain access to information a normal user wouldn't have access to, which is strictly forbidden.

On leaking teams: Divulging private information about someone's planned team to their opponent is never allowed, and will be heavily sanctioned. Requesting that such information be divulged is also grounds for punishment. Keep your scouting to publicly available information and you'll be fine.

Timer Clause / Disconnections

Timer Clause: As for taking long between moves, if your opponent asks you to hurry up, please oblige. If you are doing a damage calc for a key turn that is one thing, but prolonging every move is suspicious and annoying. Don't do it. Furthermore, Battle Timeout is a rule for a reason. If you run out of time, you lose, simple as that. It does not matter what your opponent says. Do not battle if you think you will have to leave mid battle, and instead reschedule for a better time.

Disconnections: Finally, in the case of a disconnect, the decision is in the hands of the player who did not disconnect. The options are: redo the battle move for move, redo the battle with the same teams but different moves, or redo the battle with completely different teams. If the battle was without a doubt over, they may also take the win. Any suspicion that a disconnect was committed on purpose to redo a match may be appealed to me, and if I feel this happened there will be severe consequences, don't do it.

Scheduling

Use VMs to schedule with your opponent to make it easier for me to track activity calls when needed, and use this guide to ensure you don't lose via activity or coinflip. If you use other methods to contact your opponent outside of VMs, then post in this thread confirming you're in contact with your opponent; otherwise, it's not necessary. Extensions for those with time conflicts will only be given when proof is provided of scheduling with their opponent in the beginning of the round, so do not schedule last minute expecting to be compensated in case of timezone conflicts or be given an activity win over your opponent.

I know that was a lot to read, but it is all necessary for me to have posted here so everyone can see it in the case of a dispute. I don't want any confusion or any problems.

i think fc beats reje in 3, lucky in at least 1

staxi is more experienced and consistent. also this isn't finals yet

exiline probably brings better teams (besides being weak to ice types) and more willing to make plays

dumblydore will remind icemaster why he quit. im sorry drake

situm has a tendency to tilt and tunnel vision after the smallest thing not going his way, and will forget his own mistakes. lunala probably wins cos of better mindset but then she could also bring because she brings weavile and weavile things happen

tj started by losing to caly in mw, then he won upl, now it's mw season again but if he keeps upl form then he wins. 64 had a patchy showing in scl

lacus probably wins cos more solid teams+solid play instead of going click click. sorry cousin you could've at least chosen a good avatar

no idea about gareeb fogbound cos gareeb is a bit linear in teams+plays but idk about fog sadly. but i will def predict gareeb repeatedly going for some luck, and then spend 20 seconds apologising about the luck.

(#1) Fc vs (#16) Reje - FC cuz i dont think reje even care BUT if he do hes definitely winning this.

(#2) Staxi vs (#15) Hrishioo7 - staxi because hrishioo is not preparing enough for this ig.

(#3) Exiline vs (#14) Mr.378 - tough to pick but i'll go with exiline here because he has more knowledge about ss than IRON man
(#4) Aberforth vs (#13) Icemaster
Icemaster retired and aber is trying hard in ss now. Definitely aber gonna win here

(#5) Gareeb vs (#12) Fogbound Lake
MASTER RANK POKEMON UNITE PLAYER GAREEEB is definitely gonna lose this.

(#6) Situm vs (#11) Lunala - situm is good but i am rooting for lunala here.

(#7) TJ vs (#10) 64 Squares - 64 is definitely better

(#8) Lacus Clyne vs (#9) FatFighter2
Going to be close but i think lacus is better player here.

(#1) Fc vs (#16) Reje
(#3) Exiline vs (#14) Mr.378
(#4) Aberforth vs (#13) Icemaster
(#5) Gareeb vs (#12) Fogbound Lake
(#6) Situm vs (#11) Lunala
(#7) TJ vs (#10) 64 Squares
(#8) Lacus Clyne vs (#9) FatFighter2

(#1) Fc vs (#16) Reje
FC is a beast and Reje hates SS so I don't see him prepping. If he does want to win though and preps things could get very tough for FC.
(#3) Exiline vs (#14) Mr.378
Mr numbers is a great old gens player but I don't see him winning SS against exiline.
(#4) Aberforth vs (#13) Icemaster
(#5) Gareeb vs (#12) Fogbound Lake
Both are good players but I have to hold fog here. Teaming up with him for UWC let me experience his skills and knowledge of the post-zacian meta.
(#6) Situm vs (#11) Lunala
Situm isn't afraid to bring unconventional teams and I think that gives him a slight edge. Lunala can absolutely take this though.
(#7) TJ vs (#10) 64 Squares
64 is an established ubers player but has been having a rough time lately. I'm not sure if he'll care enough to prepare but if he does he's a very scary opponent to face.
(#8) Lacus Clyne vs (#9) FatFighter2
I slightly favour former German Lacus "Landesverräter" Clyne.
