The Lead:
Ninjask @ Leftovers
Speed Boost
Adamant
248 HP / 8 ATK / 184 DEF / 68 SPE
-X-Scisor
-Baton Pass
-Substitute
-Protect
Ninjask is the perfect lead here and it does exactly what I want him to do. This little guy sits here and gets speed boosts until it's sufficient enough to baton pass them. With his gigantic speed stat I can switch between sub and protect against pretty much everything that doesn't have priority or a (p)hazing move. I'm debating Taunt over X-Scisor just so I do have a method of stopping pokemon with the aforementioned moves, but I really haven't seen too many of them yet in the B/W OU metagame.
The Defense Passer:
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Water Absorb
Bold
252 HP / 252 DEF 6 SP.DEF
-Acid Armor
-Surf
-Aqua Ring
-Baton Pass
This Vaporeon is built to take physical hits as best as possible so that I can set up some Defense boosts and Aqua Ring for some more steady recovery before baton passing out. With great natural bulk and the always fantastic water typing, combined with an immunity is what makes Vaporeon one of the best defense passers in the game. I suppose I could use Boil Over instead of Surf for the burn chance, but with Vap's ability to just boost its defenses to the sky I don't think it's really necessary and the extra power from Surf can come in handy.
The CM Passer:
Mr. Mime @ Leftovers
Sound Proof
Calm
252 HP / 252 SP.DEF / 6 SPE
-Calm Mind
-Psychic
-Baton Pass
-Substitute
Mr. Mime is one of the more useful members of the Baton Pass chain on this team due to his ability Sound Proof, which nullifies roar, the most common way of phazing. Substitute can be used to block Dragon Tail / Mountain Throw also. Calm Mind boosts Mr. Mime's already great base 120 SP.DEF to new heights, while also boosting his solid base 100 SP.ATK. While none of my BPass recipients will really gain anything from this SP.ATK boost, it certainly will help Mr. Mime and Vaporeon to dent things a little harder so they aren't dead weight. I used to have Celebi in this slot so that it could absorb Leech Seeds, and also because of the fact that it's over-all bulkier, which was certainly helpful a lot of the time, and having Natural Cure so you aren't completely killed by toxic, and having Recover were all also incredibly helpful. If you feel Mr. Mime is outclassed by Celebi, please tell me so, because this is the poke I am most on the fence about.
The Attack Passer:
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
Careful
252 HP / 252 SP.DEF / 6 SPE
-Taunt
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Baton Pass
Gliscor is not only my go to guy for when I'm up against a status user, but with Taunt he can also break down many other stall pokemon who try and set up tons of entry hazards to wear my team down due to all of the switch it does. But probably most importantly, Gliscor sets up the Swords Dances. By boosting it's attack +2 not only does it pose a serious threat of it's own with it's STAB Earthquakes capable of OHKOing Tyranitars, but it can pass these boosts to one of my two recipients, and this is what makes Gliscor so special. Also with an Aqua Ring passed to him and some defensive boosts, this guy becomes a massive pain to take down, surviving most hits with a very solid amount of his HP and recovering tonnes of it back each turn.
The Bulky Recipient:
Metagross @ Leftovers
Clear Body
252 HP / 252 ATK / 6 SPE
Meteor Mash
Earthquake
Thunder Punch
Ice Punch
With phenomenal coverage resisted only by Rotom-H, Metagross with a couple of boosts behind it will seriously beast through most teams. Great natural bulk and defensive typing and a sky-high attack stat are why I chose Metagross for this role. It also resists Extreme Speed and Bullet Punch, so most priority users won't be able to dent me nearly hard enough, and even Sucker Punch, Mach Punch and Aqua Jet are only neutrally affective hits, so Metagross with a few boosts to each defense can easily shrug them off as he OHKO's you in return. And of course after it's passed the speed boosts it outruns everything aside of maybe Choice Scarf Doryuuzu in sand and other never-used strategies.
2592 Attack:
Haxorus @ Choice Band
Mold Breaker
Adamant
252 ATK 252 SPE 6 HP
-Outrage
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Brick Break
The star of the show and the pokemon I based this team off of, Choice Band Haxorus. With +6 boosts to ATK from Gliscor combined with Choice Band, he reaches 2592 ATK! Capable of OHKOing pretty much everything except for Max HP Max DEF Skarmory, Forretress, and Steel Arceus with Outrage. The first two because of sturdy, and the latter because it will sadly survive with a small margin of HP left. But this is OU and Steel Arceus isn't allowed so it's only those two pokes. But nonetheless, Dragon Claw is usually the move of choice, due to it not confusing me. Nothing is more satisfying that slaughtering your opponents team with this monster of a pokemon. If only it had the ability Adaptability...
The biggest threat to this team by far is Skarmory, due to the fact that I do not use Stealth Rock, so skarm can take any attack and survive with 1HP from sturdy, and whirlwind me out, therefore making me lose all of my boosts I've passed. But such is life. Any and all suggestions are appreciated and I thank you for taking the time to read my first 5th gen OU RMT.
