There was once a Smog Article that said this:
Every round, I'm going to release 1-3 items/pokemon/abilities into the metagame, and you guys will battle pretending that they are really released.
For example, during one round I will announce that Whimsicott's Chlorophyll, Stoutland's Scrappy, and Cinccino's Skill Link are released. Of course, the ones I release will be competitive.

Let's face it. It's true. But this tournament is taking this to a whole new level. You aren't just going to theorymon about when X receives it's Dream World ability, it'll be banned ASAP. You're going to play as if it was just released.
Every round, I'm going to release 1-3 items/pokemon/abilities into the metagame, and you guys will battle pretending that they are really released.
For example, during one round I will announce that Whimsicott's Chlorophyll, Stoutland's Scrappy, and Cinccino's Skill Link are released. Of course, the ones I release will be competitive.
Rules:
Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing pokémon.
Evasion Clause: player cannot increase their Pokémon's evasion stat with a move that specifically increases evasion. Indirect boosts do not break this clause.
OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
Battle Timeout: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
Unreleased Clause: Anything unreleased is banned, bar what I "release."
Wifi Clause: The Wifi Battle box must be checked before battling.
Smogon's ban list: All Items, Moves, Abilities and Pokemon listed here are banned.
