How this works

There will be between 6 teams this year. Each team will have 6 starters and at least 3 subs (minimum roster size of 9). The players are bought using the 100k credits that managers receive during the auction. Managers and co-managers will be allowed to purchase themselves as players for their team at a fixed price of 13.5k. The managers must inform the hosts (BoingK, Akeras and velvet) of all self-purchases before the beginning of the auction. Teams can win their weekly matchups by winning 4 of the 6 matches their players have to play. Players listed on an OMPL roster will not be allowed to play but may still manage a team. Those managing an OMPL team will not be allowed to play or manage.

It is recommended that all games are played on SmogTours with the current version of the format corresponding to those listed above. Games can be played on the Pokemon Showdown main server if and only if both players agree, but run a higher risk of interference from server restarts/crashes. The result between players may be decided in a best-of-one or best-of-three at both players' discretion. If there is no agreement, the result will decided in a Bo1 by default.
Points will be awarded according to the result in a week: a win is 2 points, a draw is 1 point, and a loss awards no points. In addition, the manner in which the round has been won will also be recorded, i.e. the difference between a team's wins and losses in a specific week's round (referred to as "Win Differential").

Playoffs:
Each team will play one another in a round-robin regular season format. Based on the final standings, the top 4 teams will enter the knockout phase of the tournament, with the semi-finals consisting of the first seed playing the fourth seed, and the second seed playing the third seed. Finals will then consist of the winners of each semi-final draw.

Tiebreaker

In the event of two teams being tied for a spot in the finals based on points and win differential, or there is a tie in the final round itself, we will have a tiebreaker round(s).
Tiebreak Procedure:
Both teams submit three strike choices, ranked. The hosts process both lists at the same time until we end up with three metas (if both of them strike the same meta at some point) or more likely, four unstruck metas. If there are four, the hosts randomly pick three of the four for tiebreaker.

Substitutes

Substitutes are to be used in the case of extenuating circumstances, whether on the first day of the week, or the last. At the same time, players should be relatively well-aware of who all are available to play in the opponent's camp. If last-minute substitutes are being frequently used or abused and the hosts find explanations unsatisfactory, the hosts still reserve the right to veto them. Teams are only granted a maximum of two substitutes per week to prevent the abuse of substitutions. Any substitutions after the second will be vetoed.
  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

BoingK's Godly Gift Reviews!

:pichu: Cyril tbh vs Rei :psyduck:
:rotom-wash::gouging-fire::landorus-therian::zacian-crowned::great-tusk::raging-bolt:vs:hatterene::garganacl::alomomola::zacian-crowned::great-tusk::slowking:
Starting with the shortest game this week, cyril brings some form of Zacian-Crowned bulky offense, featuring two Paradox Dogs in Gouging Fire and speed Raging Bolt. His opponent, Rei, brings... something? This is possibly the least functional Godly Gift team I've seen in a while - Alomomola, Zacian-Crowned, and Great Tusk is a decent core at the very least, and while Hatterene hasn't been seen in a while I guess it's ok. However, this is followed with an attack Garganacl and a speed Slowking - therefore we have a Zacian fat build, with pretty much no way to get damage onto the board, which is asking for trouble in the current climate. The game is over in as quickly as 10 turns - Raging Bolt is lead against Alomomola, and Rei switches in their Hatterene on a Volt Switch. Given the Hatterene doesn't proc Eject Button, Cyril gets Zacian-Crowned for free, and gets a Swords Dance up for free, as the Hatterene doubles back into Alomomola, meaning it doesn't carry Nuzzle. At this point, Rei needs a Scald burn, which they don't get, and Zacian gets the 2hko. From this point, the game is over - it could have been extended if Rei preserves their Alomomola with regen, and fishes for a Scald burn, but it seems impossible for them to stop the possible offense of Raging Bolt and Gouging Fire.

:corviknight::meowscarada::primarina::serperior::landorus-therian::kyurem-black:vs:corviknight::kyogre::clodsire::tornadus-therian::garganacl::gholdengo:
Wes brings a KB balance featuring two grasses - Meowscarada looks to have an especially great matchup here - while Louis brings the lesser seen Kyogre. Both teams interestingly feature a Corviknight.

The game starts with a lot of pivoting from both sides. Kyogre hits the field and reveals it's CM, and Wes chunks its health with her Serperior, but Kyogre is already at +1 and takes Serp with an Ice Beam. However, Kyurem-Black is now able to hit the field, and looks immediately threatening as a Dragon Dance could seal the game. However Wes elects to Fusion Bolt, and this only does 45 into the incoming Gholdengo, which is assumably scarfed. It actually is scarfed and clicks MiR the next turn, but Kyurem-Black makes a smart Terastalisation to Electric, resists the incoming MiR, and claims Gholdengo, and Wes is solidly in the lead here. Wes proceeds to get rocks with Taunt Landorus-T, preventing Louis' Corv from Defogging them away. There's more pivoting, and Wes trades decent damage on Clodsire with Lando-T for a Toxic, with it falling to the Torn-T Louis doubles in on the next Earthquake. Kyurem hits the field and Clodsire is no longer able to take an Icicle Spear, and it falls. Garg then comes in and starts setting up, and Primarina comes in to trade some damage with Surf for its life. Then Meowscarada finally hits the field and Garg is forced out - Louis switches his Corviknight in, and the damage reveals the Meowscarada is probably not Banded. Louis' Corv is chipped further by the other Corv's Rocky Helmet, so when Wes pivots in her Meowscarada the game is basically done as Corv cannot take a single Knock-Off. Torn-T falls, then Corv comes in and falls, and now the game is unwinnable so Louis forfeits.

Overall, very solidly played by Wes, highlighting how Terastalisation can sometimes be a tool for a skilled player to make a subtle interaction in their favour to win the whole game. Louis actually forgot to use their Tera, which could have made a difference at some point, but it probably didn't matter as he brought a very slow team - given the Meowscarada is scarfed, nothing likes taking its very strong Knocks / Flower Tricks and nothing can outspeed and knock it out. Wes's team was able to deal with Louis's main threats, and Wes just had more damage output on the board.

:rotom-heat::lilligant-hisui::roaring-moon::scream-tail::great-tusk::groudon:vs:walking-wake::eternatus::roaring-moon::venusaur::great-tusk::torkoal:
The sun mirror implies that the game will be fast-paced - it is actually the longest game of this week however, coming in at 39 turns.

Turn one begins with fairy leading her Torkoal while DP leads Tail, revealing Proto speed. DP gets Rocks while fairy goes for a Plume burn, which doesn't proc. Fairy then immediately spins the rocks away with DP pivoting to Rotom-H. Fairy keeps her Torkoal in on the next turn, and Rotom is able to paralyse it, impacting the work it can put in. DP then pivots his Tusk in, forcing fairy to go to her own Tusk, and it takes a bit over half. Both sides reposition for a bit, with Eternatus hitting the field Turn 15. It reveals to be Meteor Beam Power Herb, immediately becoming very threatening, but fairy unfortunately cannot claim the Tusk on Turn 20 - I don't know whether this was an incorrect calculation because she forgot that Tusk becomes a lot bulkier in GG, or whether it was simply an unfortunate roll - but after this, fairy is behind. Her Tusk comes in and revenges, but Chlorophyll Lilligant-H comes in after that and knocks the Tusk out, and now if Sun goes up again, Lilligant is very favoured to win the game, as nothing can wall her attacks. Fairy tries to break tail with Walking Wake, which is probably specs, but cannot, and loses her Moon trying to do the same. Wake then comes back in to try and pick up the kill but it invites Roaring Moon for free. Fairy is forced to go back into Torkoal, gifting Roaring Moon it's Protosynthesis, which it uses to 2HKO the late turtle. Moon then tanks a Venusaur Solar Beam, taking it into LO range, and Venusaur dies unable to take a kill. Walking Wake is able to come back in and revenge, but from here DP is free to go back into Lilligant-H and there is nothing more to be done.

Predicts (Godly Gift only)
Rei vs a fairy - Rei had a really poor outing last time, and they definitely need to pick up the pace a little, although I'm not sure there's anyone on their team able to directly help them with tier knowledge. Fairy seems to have loaded a team and clicked and doing that again may be enough to get her the win

Wes8888 vs Cyril tbh - I rate both of these players highly, but Wes is superior in skill and experience. It definitely will be a fun watch but Cyril remains the underdog

DragonPhoenix733 vs LouisIX - I was really impressed by DP's performance last time out. However, Louis probably has a point to prove, and still has decent support and experience with the tier. Should be an interesting watch again, but Louis is the favourite here

might as well do a bit of predicts (leaving myself out for obvious reasons)

big tony 2014 (15) vs Stolen Identity (85)
i’m sorry i have never seen big tony play this tier and SI is one of the best BH players in the tour rn

Yoko (40) vs Dragonillis (60)
dragonillis has history playing bh reasonably well but yoko has been testing teams like crazy (on ladder unfortunately) and also has sevag + test rex support. it probably depends on how updated their metagame knowledge is

Last week I got 2/3 here which when compared to my OMPL record of 2/9 is way better so clearly this is working out.
BH Predicts:
big tony 2014 (45) vs (55) Stolen Identity
It has been revealed that yolk's support is akira which is kind of just blatantly unfair and cheating. I also don't know who big tony is and I'm going to assume Hiusi guy is not in due to availability issues (though I think Hiusi also just recycled a WC team last week?). That being said they could be secretly cracked and these players are also usually very scary because you have no idea what they would bring, and I also heard from secret sources that yolk has been building some awful teams around cool ideas so I'm going to make these numbers closer.

rightclicker (65) vs (35) MagearnaTheBoss
I'm not a particularly big fan of MTB's team last week meanwhile nuke brought a very solid looking team and didn't seem to be affected by unviable playing devices. I also think that nuke is just more familiar with the meta and thus better at building and clicking here. Also nukes team last week looks ridiculously similar to one of my builds to the point where I am suspecting he somehow got hands on my builder and I hope that by bribing him by bolding him he will not leak my builder.

Yoko (45) vs (55) Dragonillis
I did not like Yoko's team last week whatsoever and that can only mean that penguin and rex are sleeping as managers. However I also heard/feel that the french might be cooking a bit too hard with some sets (lemonstre what is Dragon Energy Gira-A). That being said I still think whatever Dragonillis cooks will probably be able to cook whatever sevag will try to help his team with.

Also I have realized that I am making the excellent decision to predict with RoFnA who clearly seems very good at predicting, as well as nuke but idk if hes actually good at predicting.

Edit: Oh hey look I'm already 1-0 here again this is truly better than OMPL.
