Hello and welcome to the RU Swiss Tournament! This tournament is a Type B tournament for the 2024 RU Circuit. This year we will follow the format used by Smogon Masters, more details here:

  • There will be an amount of rounds proportional to how many players sign up equal to how many rounds it would take for a single player to be undefeated. For example, we will have 6 rounds for 64 players, 7 for 128, and 8 for 256.
  • For each round, you will be matched up with someone that has the same record as you in the tournament. For example, if you are 2-1, you will be matched up against someone with the same rating as you.
  • As soon as you hit 3 losses (X-3), you are eliminated from the tournament entirely. This is done to avoid the issues of high drop rate and burnout.
  • Once all rounds are done, everyone with 2 or less losses will be added to a single elimination bracket (Top Cut), where they will be first seeded by record, then strength of opponent. If there are not enough players to make a complete bracket, byes will be given to the highest seed players. This will continue until there is 1 person remaining, which will be the winner.
  • Standard SV RU
  • Each round will be Best of 3, and you are allowed to switch teams between games.
  • All changes that happen in the tier during the middle of the week will not apply until the next round.
  • You are expected to know and follow all general tournament rules.
  • VMs are only thing that matters for activity. Use this guide to ensure you don't lose via activity or coinflip.

4. Xiri vs 29. Cielau - Xiri got the fourth seed after playing very well all tour, while Ciel is 0-2 in actual sets played...
5. Bouff vs 28. HeroSabis - Bouff probably has more help here, though HeroSabis has played well in the replays I've seen as well.
6. KeshBa54 vs 27. roxie - This game isn't getting played LOL
7. Sir Tetris vs 26. atomicllamas - I would not be surprised to see llamas win here, but Tetris is a stud and is hopefully able to prep for this well.
8. Ming549 vs 25. hjkhj - Really cool matchup here, maybe the highlight of this round honestly, but leaning towards hjk to pull out the win.
9. Beraldo vs 24. GoldCat - Beraldo will load Hail and win, as we've continued to let him do.
11. TyCarter vs 22. Master Chief - I think MC is a safe bold here, but Ty has played well and his offensive teams have answers to MC's more conservative structures.
12. Feliburn vs 21. Django - Feli has played really well and has support in fake-feli.
13. Seed Sower vs 20. feen - Good job making it this far, seed, proud of you bud, but I think feen is a heavy favorite until proven otherwise.
14. Daharan vs 19. TheFranklin - Daharan is sneaky good at RU and I liked watching them in RULT a while ago, but Franklin gets bolded 99% of the time.
15. HoopsspooH vs 18. Mister McLovin - Hoops is somebody I've liked for a while as they build cool teams and play well, but McLovin made it here after some tough sets so I wouldn't be too surprised if they pull through.
16. PokemonCestDur vs 17 Metallica126 - If not for ming vs hjk, this here is probably the coolest matchup of the first round. I really like both players and their teams, this is going to three games and it's going to have some crazy techs. I lean on Metallica here but PCD is not a bad pick, either.

Ming549 vs 25. hjkhj - PEAK, most exciting MU this round honestly, two solid players duking it out. hjkhj is coming off an amazing RUPL win but I'm gonna favor my boy Ming because I believe the motivation is enough to push him towards greatness. Althought there is a non-zero chance we see Stall vs Stall, in which case no one truly wins

8. Ming549 vs 25. hjkhj - Crual pairing for a first round honnestly, I support Ming so the edge is for him but I think if I'm objective hjkhj is probably favorite by few. Gl both !
9. Beraldo vs 24. GoldCat - Mmh, another potential finals for r1.... Guess the edge is for Beraldo, even if honnestly it's really hard to choice imo
10. FlamPoke vs 23. Sabella - Sabella was already know as a solid player but yeah feel like he's in a good year, edge for him even if Flamingo can do it
11. TyCarter vs 22. Master Chief - Carter don't have an easy pairing here, cuz honnestly if I have to put money on who win the tournament, I would probably choose Feli-H (Still trauma by this coba cm jolly btw)
12. Feliburn vs 21. Django - Huge pairing, I will edge Feli but not an easy pairing for a start
13. Seed Sower vs 20. feen - Did I say we won MPL already ? Nah more seriously hard for seed to do it here
14. Daharan vs 19. TheFranklin - Go Daharan, do it
15. HoopsspooH vs 18. Mister McLovin - Not really familiar with both, but I will edge McLovin, let's trust my feeling
16. PokemonCestDur vs 17 Metallica126 - Cool pairing, it can go in both side and I support both. But french clause I adge PCD
 
Well, I am still relatively new in this tier, so I don't know everyone, nor do I know much about the others, but imma try to give my opinion on this...

4. Xiri vs 29. Cielau - Cielau is finally able to play this tour now, having prepared for this moment the last five weeks ! (just french clause)
5. Bouff vs 28. HeroSabis - Je vais le BOUFFER :woop: (french pun, haha, help)
6. KeshBa54 vs 27. roxie - Don't know about any of them, sry
7. Sir Tetris vs 26. atomicllamas - I heard only good things about Tetris and I don't know atomic.
8. Ming549 vs 25. hjkhj - Can't say who could win, but I know both are really great players. I do know a bit what hjkhj could do though, since I faced him in round 2, but that's not enough for me to give him the edge.
9. Beraldo vs 24. GoldCat - Could go either way from the little I know.
10. FlamPoke vs 23. Sabella - I do know about Fp a bit since I joined the discord and will give him the edge here since I hardly know about Sabella, even though the name does ring a bell.
11. TyCarter vs 22. Master Chief - From what I could see during this tour, TyCarter is impressive.
12. Feliburn vs 21. Django - I know Feliburn is good and don't know much about Django, though I have seen that I should not underestimate him.
13. Seed Sower vs 20. feen - feen clause :sphearical:
14. Daharan vs 19. TheFranklin - Daharan all the way ! (Good luck lmao)
15. HoopsspooH vs 18. Mister McLovin - Don't know about any of them, sry
16. PokemonCestDur vs 17 Metallica126 - French clause here, but I have watched a few games of Metallica during this swiss tour, so really good match incoming
 
4. Xiri vs 29. Cielau - ur still my goat mr french man but 0-2 when actually playing with 5 act wins if a dubious reputation to be bringing into playoffs especially when up against xiri who sports an almost spotless record vs stiff competition in pools (franklin, tycarter, ampha, etc)
5. Bouff vs 28. HeroSabis - As far as the qualifying stages I think the difficulty of Bouffs run was convincingly stronger than Sabis's run and he ended with a better record which certainly means something. comparatively as well bouff has significantly more engagement with the tier as well as more ingame than Sabis which is a huge boon for him. Sabis has been bringing a lot of really off beat stuff and it has generally worked out for him though which might be just what he needs when it comes to trying to flip the mu vs someone who has just played more of the tier than you, excited to see if the new name can pull off the upset
6. KeshBa54 vs 27. roxie - similar to the ciel case, roxie got thoroughly handled in the one game they actually played and then got here on the back of coinflips, they do have a history of good play but KeshBa54 has a history of actually PLAYING this tour vs some pretty decent competition at that (eifo, stories, seed, etc)
7. Sir Tetris vs 26. atomicllamas - while I do love to see llamas back in the mix, I think tetris has just had overall a more impressive run with a bit more team diversity as well as a bit better consistent gameplay which led to quality wins, now I will say looking back on the sets llamas has played, it feels like bro got haxed like a lot so hopefully this will be a clean set lol
9. Beraldo vs 24. GoldCat - Beraldo has loaded the same incredibly easily accounted for hail this entire swiss run vs some pretty stiff comp and has thrived off of it as well as having pretty strong showings in other tours across the board which all speak to his strength. gk however I think has really hit his stride trying to get back into the groove of current gen after a rough start to swiss. I think gk has it in him for the upset here. btw its hoodra+geezing that beats the hail team, literally those two mons, baldo himself has admitted this on multiple occasions
10. FlamPoke vs 23. Sabella - Flam has been hot off winning rugl as well as putting together an overall very strong swiss run against some tough opposition (chungler, franklin, eifo). i think the overall higher familiarity with the tier as well as willingness to get into the weeds when it comes to teambuilding is one of flams biggest strengths as well and it'll be safe to give him the edge here. i will mention sabella DOES have the ruslt win under his belt as well as having scrapped all the way back from the 2-2 bracket so he should not be underestimated
11. TyCarter vs 22. Master Chief - very very strong names on both sides here but I think this is solidly mc's game to lose. not only do I think mc had a far stronger line of opps overall, hes shown off a couple new teams here that have really caught my eye highlighting some underrated guys in the meta like regi and specs gard throughout this run and his ingame is without question. also has feli in his corner as far as building/bouncing ideas which cannot be underrated
12. Feliburn vs 21. Django - similar to mc's deal I think the ball is definitely in felis park for this one. nonwithstanding that they already played this out and feli won, hes just been on a roll with trying some new stuff with the tier and taking things in interesting directions. also i think he had a much stronger run than django as well which is notable
13. Seed Sower vs 20. feen - this will be a great game, i think seed is a menace in the builder and is never afraid to try out stuff off the beaten path which is definitely an advantage over a vet like feen. however, i would rate feens actual decision making behind the sticks higher than seed so i think he should be favored in this mu
14. Daharan vs 19. TheFranklin - franklin is just one of the highest performing most consistent players in the community and has been for basically the entirety of my time with RU. daharan on his way here however has accumulated a few mainer names under his belt tho so should not be taken lightly
16. PokemonCestDur vs 17 Metallica126 - idfk these guys are both goated what am i supposed to do. i think metallica gets the edge, i think the overall strength of his run was harder than pcds and I think i value his skills in the builder slightly higher than pcd but behind the sticks both these guys are as solid as they come. must watch gaming
 
Since Xiri was too fast for me to write a funny hate cheering post towards Cielau, here I come with some 100% peaceful and unbiased predictions based on facts and a very small piece of subjectivity but nothing so important to be noticed. I believe this is what they say somewhere in the world.
I wish Chungler, Gewwge and Tsuki were in there man... I'm so unfunny when they're not.

- Bouff vs HeroSabis -> I'm unironically surprised Hero made it there, I always knew that people who beat me with ease always end on a good note. With that being said, it seems like Bouff enjoys playing RU and has overall way more experience than Hero, which is a factor that always plays a crucial role at this stage of a competition.
- KeshBa54 vs roxie -> I mean, I wish I could joke about roxie having 0 games in RU, but where do I go when it's... real? Well, let's hope for it to be... played I guess?
- Sir Tetris vs atomicllamas -> I thought Tetris had disappeared somewhere in the mountains
- Ming549 vs hjkhj -> No, I will not make ANY form of word play regarding Huckleberry Juice belonging to Kendrick H. Jordan's name. This is not funny and has never been. You need to stop this. Nobody would ever chuckle at your bullcrap attempt to have the whole crew laughing while the one targeted would find a tickle more hilarious than this, you donut brains. Regardless, I can't bold against him he's just one of my favourite players out there.
- Beraldo vs GoldCat -> I hope both fucking lose
- FlamPoke vs Sabella -> I heard FP got a promotion from the CEO of Midwest and the Prime Minister of Jordan, which is cool. I don't know how to finish that story so I'll just counterbold by pure jealousy cuz my superiors (Rarelyme) don't fucking pay me enough for this.
- TyCarter vs Master Chief -> For once I will try to make a little bit of sense, MC is simply among the ones that have the highest odds of winning this whole tour. I feel like I'm saying it every time but... yeah. However I'm a big fan of TC, would be glad to see an upset here.
- Feliburn vs Django -> ...? was he not retired?
- Seed Sower vs feen -> Close thing here, I think. Mayhaps. I wish I could see Seed play more this year (forget about the 6 previous rounds), be it echoed to me that he is one of the most creative builders around and it's one of the rare things that keep me a little bit posted on this game as of the recent times, therefore I have nothing else to say lmao gottem. Realistically, I be hating a lot on Feen for entertainment and anti-racism purposes (I don't know what it has to do with realism) but let's be honest for 30 seconds: he IS also someone that could just destroy the playoffs and win it all, post "s/o no one smd LMFAOOOO" and we would all be cool with it. Deserves my respect.
- Daharan vs TheFranklin -> How the fuck did Daha make it there??? I mean I assume it's gonna be very interesting, I have betrayed my nation way too much but I'll keep going here because I'm always proven wrong, even tho Frank isn't my favourite player for nothing...
- HoopsspooH vs Mister McLovin -> I'm ngl I don't know much about them so I will avoid taunting.
- PokemonCestDur vs Metallica126 -> For God's sake. I hate that one of them will have to get knocked out at the end of the week. I HATE that. Whenever PCD is on the line, things get different. I will NOT 背叛国家 whatsoever. 我与法国站在一起 no matter what!!! Nevermind, I think I did.
