Round 1! Let's Get The Show Started!

Ladies and Gentlemen... players, spectators, and other guests - welcome, all of you, to the sixth annual DPP OverUsed Summer Seasonal! I'm glad you were able to make it, as the opening acts are about to start! As always, I'm your clown-faced ringleader of this tiny, portable circius I call a tournament, GraveBee! Also running the show is our ever-present fellow internet clown esteemed tour host Irene. As we kick off what is sure to be an amazing time, we look forward to working with you all! May the hax be minimal, as you aim to accumulate points towards qualifying for the DPP OverUsed championship and possibly earn the right to display trophies on your signature!

...what do you mean I still have to cover rules? Fine, I'll do it. If you already know the rules, just head on down to the matches! Otherwise, feel free to click the pretty buttons... However, I should mention that I've been seeing a lot of wooper around lately... they really like the rules. I heard one even evolved just from reading them and studying. Who knows, maybe do the same and you'll find yourself evolving into a smarter person.

General Tournament Rules
  • Visit this link if you need any sort of refreshers as far as how tours work.
  • If I need to clarify tournament rules in further detail, I will. However, as far as I know, either A) this spoiler will never be read, or B) you'll already know any of the rules I could possibly need to yap on about.
  • If you ever have any questions about general tournament rules, please ask me. I'm here to ensure that everyone is able to have fun, as part of a respectable tour. I'd be more than happy to go over rules/rulings in detail if people ask, but the truth of the matter is that the link above covers almost anything you'd possibly need to know.
Seasonal Tournament Rules
  • This is a Gen 4 OU Tournament. All matches must be played in "[Gen 4] OU".
  • This tournament will be Double Elimination. If you lose a game, don't flipping quit the tour. Play it out.
  • All matches are best of three. You may switch teams between games within a match.
  • Saving replays is mandatory. You do not have to post your unless mentioned in the round's OP.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown (or smogtours server).
Battle Clauses
  • Sleep Clause Mod: Limit one foe put to sleep
  • Species Clause: Limit one of each Pokémon
  • OHKO Clause: OHKO moves are banned
  • Evasion Clause: Evasion moves are banned, as are Sand Veil and Snow Cloak for Pokémon with more than one ability.
  • HP Percentage Mod: HP is shown in percentages
  • Baton Pass Stat Trap Clause: The following combinations of moves/effects are prohibited
    • Baton Pass + Any Stat-Boosting Move
    • Baton Pass + Any Effect which restricts the switching of pokemon
  • As a note: If anyone tries to cause an infinite battle, use the /offertie command. If they don't accept, let me know.
  • I'd prefer y'all didn't cancer in tours, but this is smogon we're talking about. My words only mean so much.

:latias:Well, that scarf latias got here quickly. And so did its draco meteor... ouch. If only we could schedule as fast as a scarf latias.

If you are paired against a bye, lucky you! Though, make sure to keep an eye out on substitutes which might sign up.

As much as I may enjoy my fair share of clowning about, I am a man of professionalism. Even if it's professional clowning, nothing beats good standards - it keeps games playing, and good times running. My advice is to contact your opponents by Wednesday, and to do so over smogon walls where it's easy to see. Feel free to ask questions or for extensions if ya need 'em, we may be lunatics here but we aren't monsters. I'm available both over discord and over smogon, whatever suits your fancy.

With that out of the way... LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

Some people signed up as subs - Subs are still open until the end of tomorrow, but might as well post today to give some extra time scheduling. If you see your name here it means you're now playing a game in Round 1, as was picked randomly via showdown commands.
