Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Hackmons Premier League, the team tournament that showcases what the best Hackmons players have to offer!
- Roster and Schedule | Standings (Records) | Replays | Commencement -

Scheduling is up to the individual players, though managers can be contacted for any sort of problem (opponent ghosting, impossiblity to play, or anything else). If your opponent is missing, the activity timer can be started by your manager pinging the opposing managers in the manager chat, and this allows for a substitution to be arranged feasibly.
Please schedule through posts on your own or your opponent's Smogon wall, so activity calls are easy to solve (you can schedule somewhere else e.g. Discord and make it official on Smogon wall).
Respect general rules of conduct and tournament rules stated here.
If a substitution is made, tag both hosts (BoingK Test Rex), the opposing managing team (both), the opposing player, the player getting subbed in, and the player getting subbed out. Players that are subbed out may not be subbed back in the same week.
Replays are mandatory for the wins to count.

Its here its here the fabled 100% accurate Chessking predicts. There are 10 games instead of 3 so no %s or long detailed writeups disappointingly.

BH9s1: Stolen Identity vs Rei - yolk is significantly more experienced and has farmed two OMFLs at this point to have plenty of experience against unfamiliar players.
BH9s2: Treeko928 vs NightEdge - Treeko has been more active recently and had a fairly good run in SSNL, while afaik NightEdge has been inactive since ghosting.
BH9s3: lemonstre1 vs RoFnA - Rather close, but I do think RoFnA has an edge in clicking and I feel like lemonstre's builds tend to not be too out of the ordinary to drag into a matchup game.
BH8: damflame 3 vs hayedenn - Exciting matchup because I think its close. Giving the edge to damflame because of a lot better support from the team.
BH7: anaconja vs SuperSkylake - acml has been more recently active relatively, and also might be more familiar with the very late meta developments to gen 7 and the innovations from there.

BH9s1: Fish Gaming vs Ivar57 - Ivar is insane.
BH9s2: teamo vs TTTech - TTTech only loses to me and sevag. If teamo brings out the full package of tttech counterteaming sets they will win though.
BH9s3: big tony 2014 vs Hiusi guy - I would say this is rather close but Hiusi guy has pretty good support from TTTech and the pair has worked well before.
BH8: Tea Guzzler vs quojova - This is a support bold. I'm not familiar enough with late gen8 to give a better opinion but quojova has infinitely more support for this slot.
BH7: Onyx Onix 7 vs jasprose - Might depend on what gets banned but Onyx has been playing a lot more bh recently despite being the wrong generation and there is chanced jasprose is rusty.

BH8: Tea Guzzler vs quojova: generally tbh i think quojova is like top 3 in ss bh in the tour, really good player and i did want him a LOT (damn u frogs), and also quojova has much better support, wouldnt be suprised if tea managed to pull a win tho
BH7: Onyx Onix 7 vs jasprose: Poor Jasprose.. Onyx is just too good
PH7: cscl vs NToTheN: Imo the best overall ph in the pool, go goat
PH6s1: Sheep Liver vs lag=bad: dont know much about either in terms of skill, but lag=bad is a mainer soo
PH6s2: Ransei vs Electra102: gotta cheer for the big name unfortunately, electra is a really good person (nya:3) but ransei is just more skilled

BH8: Nihilslave vs MAMP: did flame us for 15.5k anaconja (just u wait.. better slot into usum when our teams fight) but gotta be honest amazing player

PH predicts. Estimates are based on the chance I actually estimate that player will have to win, without overestimating uncertainty. I WILL BOLD 95-5 IF SOMEONE WILL WIN 95% OF THE TIME. Games are closer than what my numbers might imply.

These are all close games, despite what my numbers imply.

USUM PH: TheCreatorOfBullsht (57) vs Illusio (43)
Bullsht is a more creative builder, comparable player as far as I can tell, and has Eyeos/Glory to bounce ideas off of. Illusio, for their part, is a competent builder and has been playing Hackmons for a while so they have experience. berry/Iguana won't be able to help with modern USUM building but are still useful to bounce ideas off of. This is THE highlight game this week.

ORAS PH: Eyeos (60) vs berry (40)
Eyeos has far more in-date meta knowledge (that more than makes up for their relative lack of support) and doesn't build super well imo but meta knowledge carries here. berry is the overall better player, but Dark Void hell does not reward good playing to the same degree that it does good building.

ORAS PH: RL (58) vs Iguana (42)
RL is a decent clicker but I don't think Eyeos' building style suits them so they'll have to rely, in part, on their own building which isn't ideal. Iguana's meta knowledge is about as outdated as berry's but the knowledge difference is smaller because to my knowledge RL's a less active builder than Eyeos.

Individual games are a bit more one-sided here, no hard feelings. I don't think the Celesteelas did their research on the PH pool, while Frogs probably have the best PH players across-the-board besides Necrozmas because I'm the goat.

USUM PH: cscl (40) vs NToTheN (60)
NToTheN has unparalleled meta knowledge here and can be creative when building, while cscl has Ransei building support but 1) I don't think that's conducive to cscl's building style and 2) I rate N more highly as a builder. cscl is somewhat better at the game though so we'll see how this goes

PH6s1: Sheep Liver (15) vs lag=bad (85)
I'm sorry but lag's playing, building creativity, and building support (Ransei support only goes so far) are all significantly more favorable. Not much to say here. I'd recommend Sheep Liver use some rng bs that can randomly turn the tide of the game, like Dark Void molds/Chatter guys, but lag will most likely heavily prep for that scenario.

PH6s2: Ransei (62) vs Electra102 (38)
Ransei is the better player and builder, but the building diff won't matter when Electra has NToTheN/lag support and will likely have a team passed or heavily modified. Of course, that means said team won't be perfectly conducive to Electra's playing style but N + co. are versatile enough builders that that isn't a major problem for them. Will likely come down to sleep turns.
 
HC predicts, which are skill based just like the format:

HC9: platinumCheesecake vs MultiAmmiratore - unbelievably good matchup here. I didn't go back and check RBTT results but fairly certain these two are no strangers to high profile BO3s in this format. Chiori is so, so good at making the most of even a subpar team and there's been times I've been playing them where I feel I have the MU wrapped up, but they did a wonderful job hiding a wincon or staying just close enough to turn the MU on a well timed tera. Similarly, platty is one of the craftiest hc players of all time and has instincts for this format like no other. I'm fairly confident this will come down to g3, where it may be decided by who has hazards

HC8: Panty&Stockings vs Luchik - another stellar matchup, though I've been on record saying I think Luchik is the top hc player in the meta right now. will be very interesting to see both of these players shift back to gen 8 and to see what kind of impact dmax has (though i'm sure neither player will miss the last respects meta). P&S plays very steady and rarely makes mistakes, but I'll give the slight nod to Luchik here because I think they're relentless and are wonderful at gaining an early advantage and forcing oppo to play on their back foot

HC9: PrinceOfAllTacos vs AM - POAT seems to be great at every single tier they touch, and hc9 is no exception. Unfortunately I haven't seen how AM fares in this tier, so i'll bold POAT but am eager to be proven the fool. The thing to watch for in these gen 9 matchups is going to be tera management - do you seize an early opportunity for a KO or to create a great type matchup, or do you hang onto your tera for late in the match in case you absolutely need it? (ie tera normal for last respects shenanigans)

HC8: Mathy vs a loser - like AM, I haven't seen Mathy in this tier, though I know they're a great player in general and that always tends to translate to hc formats. A Losr is a staple in HC and I know they were extremely formidable in the old gen 8 days, so I expect this to be a very close matchup. Sometimes, those instincts that you gather from thousands of HC games on the ladder can really pay off, if you feel like your oppo switched in a little too eagerly or is telegraphing something dangerous, so it'll be very interesting to see how that shakes out here.

BH9s1: Stolen Identity (75) vs (25) Rei --- My brother yolk bouta rei-gn this battle... (im sorry)
BH9s2: Treeko928 (35) vs (65) NightEdge --- Nightedge is more experienced to my knowledge, he is as mysterious as they come though. I would love to see trreko giving everyone a suprise tho.
BH9s3: lemonstre1 (40) vs (60) RoFnA --- RoFnA gonna mu fish and lemonstre might eat the bait. A more even battle than ppl imagine tho.
BH8: damflame 3 (80) vs (20) hayedenn --- Damflame is that goated. I have shared a lot of BH generations with him and im always impressed how he always rather unknown despite being one of the best around 0 doubts. I know hayaden wont make it easy, but motivated damflame is a beast.
BH7: anaconja (49) vs (51) SuperSkylake --- SKYLAKE CAME BACK FROM RETIREMENT. He is gonna cook so hard anaconja gonna call him daddy the rest of the tour. Also anaconja cant give the shell spam treatment now that it is banned. (Joking, this is actually pretty close game and is my personal favorite highlight alongside sevag vs city)
PH7: TheCreatorOfBullsht (65) vs (35) Illusio --- Both very good players, but bullshit has a background experience and meta knewledge that illusion simply cant match right now. I expect illusio to give a good fight tho, and the odds of them winning are likely too.
PH6s1: Eyeos (40) vs (60) berry --- Berry cooks when they are motivated and I think they are kinda motivated for the tour
PH6s2: RL (40) vs (60) Iguana --- Definetly an interesting match between two """"underdogs"""" (they are very good tho). One of my personal highlights.
HC9: platinumCheesecake (70) vs (30) MultiAmmiratore --- I think pcheesecake is pretty goated. Chiori Mikami is very good too, but if the luck of the rolled hands are similar, I think pcheescake has the edge.
HC8: Panty&Stockings (60) vs (40) Luchik --- In this case I dont know much, but I have heard more from Panty so ima bold him

BH9s1: Fish Gaming (15) vs (85) Ivar57 --- Ivar is very very good, fish is gonna have a tough time. I would try to cheese the fuck out of mashup fishing if I were him.
BH9s2: teamo (25) vs (75) TTTech --- TTTech is the goat (please dont ever tell him I said this, he wont let me forget) I believe he has this.
BH9s3: big tony 2014 (95) vs (5) Hiusi guy --- I see big tony I bold big tony, I dont need to explain. (Hisui Guy is actually p underated, this fight is actually 50/50, but the meme is the meme)
BH8: Tea Guzzler (49) vs (51) quojova --- A pretty even fight, should be quite interesting to watch
BH7: Onyx Onix 7 (75) vs (25) jasprose --- I think this is not the best gen of BH to extract value out of Onyx, but still quality will show. I do not doubt that jasprose is a good player -he is- but onyx, in my opinion, is on another level.
PH7: cscl (40) vs (60) NToTheN --- Two big dawgs, definetly a PH highlight. It will be very even and insteresting
PH6s1: Sheep Liver (45) vs (55) lag=bad --- It was hard to choose, it wont be very one sided, could go both ways
PH6s2: Ransei (80) vs (20) Electra102 --- Ransei is very good. My heart is with electra tho, I like underdogs.
HC9: PrinceOfAllTacos (55) vs (45) AM --- Not gonna lie, didnt know much of either so I just bolded the superior nickname
HC8: Mathy (30) vs (70) a loser --- No diff, loser solos entire bracket

BH9s1: Quantum Tesseract (80) vs (20) pannu --- It will prob be an activity win cuz pannu oversleeps or smthing
BH9s2: willdbeast (40) vs (60) augustakira --- Mr "I am only signing up as a sub and support" got picked as a started LOL. I hope he can get motivated enough to play. (I love u will). Akira has a big advantage here, but never understimate an old man in a job where ppl die get banned young.
BH9s3: SammyCe123 (51) vs (49) BugGoBrrrrrr --- hot take, but this is a personal highlight battle. Wheaty is fairly unproven, but he has been cooking good recently and getting some clout, he has fresh ideas and good piloting. Sammy is one of the best OM players, but BH is not his speciality by any means. This is not gonna be one sided, and its gonna be super good, trust.
BH8: Nihilslave (40) vs (60) MAMP --- Wtf is wrong with Necros vs Registeels, its all highlight battles!!!! I have to vote MAMP cuz old BH friendship bias, but its not gonna be tough
BH7: XxLazzerpenguinxX (51) vs (49) cityscapes --- Could go either way to be honest, both a legends. I have to bold my penguin man tho, for friendship bias.
PH7: aerobee (70) vs (30) sussyamongusdrip --- It will be my first time seeing aerobee on his lair meta, and its prob gonna be cooking very hard. Im rlly hyped
PH6s1: jb291 (40) vs (60) Ballfire --- I dont know much of the skill difference between the two, so im just gonna bold the one I have a close relation to. (Ballfire lowkey chill as hell)
PH6s2: blahpy (30) vs (70) manu 11 --- I see spanish name I bold spanish name. I dont even know if he speaks spanish but I dont mind VIVA ESPAÑA. Edit: after rechecking turns out that he is from belgium. I still believe in him tho VIVE LA BELGIQUE!
HC9: Amaranth (30) vs (70) A Cake Wearing A Hat --- Cake cooks too hard, and also went for too low during draft
HC8: Nudepantsman (51) vs (49) relevartemit --- When in doubt - I pick the one with the better nickname


**I know two battles already happened but I dont mind, I didnt change any of the predicts I was gonna make to coincide with the result of the played games
