I usually like reading these threads to see ppl's insight into player pools, but this shit is dead as hell. tf is going on? I'll do it myself.

Spartans- Aberforth: I was very surprised that Aberforth went for only 4k bc I thought he had a pretty solid WCOP performance despite losing twice to entro. I remember in particular that he turned the fok up vs my teammate giannis and I was very surprised he had that dawg in him to make the plays he did. if he keeps up that level of confident, he seems like a very strong value buy
Breakers- M Dragon: ah. mariano. marinara. david. father dragon. Dad Drag is always cheap in SCL for some reason despite being the most seasoned player to ever sign up for this. last year, when he smoked fade he said "I wasn't even trying" and I was very surprised. he's definitely the best player here skill-wise so it'll come down to how much he cares about doing well in this tournament. he's got a spanish speaking support player who makes strong teams, so he's expected to do very well
Platoon- entrocefalo: very strong smogon zoomer that put up a very powerful 7-2 performance on a bad team so he missed out on poffs. was also robbed in g5 of slam tiebreak vs lily, so maybe could've put in work there as well. went for a pretty high price and is rated well within his peers, so not much to say except that there's a good chance he performs similarly to last year
Foxes- 7u9i2: one of the danger sv core of the UPL team I was on. he did pretty well there, but I heard he heinously choked his BLT finals game and caused his teammates much grief as they lost the tournament. he did very well in that tournament however with only the finals loss being rough + has good support in Suzuya. this likely comes down to if he's able to shake off or disregard any rookie nerves and pull through big time
Islanders- RichardMillePlain: as blunder said in the WCOP pools reveal "he's sheist, no cap". I thought he played quite well in WCOP and the other times I've seen him play other tiers
Dynamos- Kate: Kate got fuckin smoked in her slam series vs mncmt after talking all that shit to Suzuya in the previous series fnr. I expect that the karma chameleons will be after Kate again and she'll go from Gate to Late
Shoguns- fade: this guy is a terrorist but is good at pokemon. the bad guys always do well.
Gibles- false: LMFAOSODAKSOO FALSE? THE FALSE? I guess he won ubers open but if I had to guess he terribly and heinously haxed everybody and also used his weaponized timezone into forcing his opponents to play at 3:24 am their time. false has never been one to put up good records in any tournament, but winning ubers open makes him more sheist than expected.
Machines- Icemaster: the Sheistmaster is back. I'm a big fan of him teaming back in SCL 1 and having to witness him being horrifically robbed in finals by a player whose username I don't recall anymore. he's the epitome of consistent play and is Tony endorsed and certified from way back then. wild fall from grace going from 21k in his first ever tour to pricefixing in DOU to a measly 9k here. I have heard that he isn't the biggest fan of the meta and SV, so that will hold him back if it's true.
Terrors- Reje: I know this guy likes to circlejerk a lot and that's landed him drafted for a few of these tournaments. I've never seen him speak, but can't with good conscious say that he'll do well and he was also the cheapest player

Ubers pool seems strong this year. I like it.

FINAL PRS: M Dragon > entrocefalo > Aberforth > Icemaster > RichardMillePlain > Kate > balse > 7u9i2 > Reje > fade

Breakers: M Dragon I really hate to play vs and I rate Mashing building pretty well - she can probably start too. I'm not aware how much recent Ubers / SV experience M Dragon has - I think he does ladder, but either way he was fine with it last SCL. Good retain

Platoon: Entro's form was a little worse than last year recently IMO, but that might be because more people have figured out SV. In any case, managers don't seem to have too much faith in investing in Ubers - it really does take a huge skill difference to not end up -1 or +1 in coinflippy SV Ubers and despite Entro managing that he was still cheaper than last year. his team selection is always very good

Foxes: 7u9i2 hasn't really got that much SV showings, but when he does play I think he's gone positive everytime. He also sneakily appeared to win the circuit playoffs without dropping a game, with some unique builds (this is a good thing). Suzuya is a good help.

Islanders: Richard being 3k pisses me off he shoulda been my lil builder.

Dynamos: Kate gone from unbought to 2nd most expensive Ubers player. It's less of a glowup but more a price correction - while last years pool was stronger (so maybe higher bar of entry), I think she was always good she kind of just got opportunity to show her skills in some individuals UWC and WCOP now. Not familiar of her record in WCOP, but I think she plays very nicely and builds uniquely.

Shoguns: I didn't play Fade last SCL but he always seems to do nice, I think he had a p decent UPL. The melmetals had a great SV core anyway and I know he was part of it so I'll just assume he did. It always surprises me when tour players come to play shitty sv ubers but hf

Gibles: False won Ubers Open and had a lot of strong opponents along the way. Probably one of the toughest brackets. I wouldn't say he dominated the opposition, and he did get lucky in parts, but doesn't literally every winner? That's what SV ubers is 50/50 90% accuracy tera speedtie mu fish tier. He showed he knows how to play it and with Fc's team selections and Lana as backup, I expect the Gibles to do well

Spartans: Aberforth hasn't got that many SV showings, he mostly played SS recently like me. Coupled with some reasons some people will be aware of allowed him to go for 4k - decent value. He played a good WCOP with good team selection. SV is really hard to pick teams in though if you're not an experienced main so he might struggle - it really depends on if WCOP he took a leading part in building, or if oceania's deep support did.

Terrors: I teamed with Reje in UWC and he did well. I wasn't too inspired by his team selection or prep (nonexistant), but he can very much just roll up with a team and play it competently. No support and even fewer SV games than Aberforth puts him in a bad position

its different to what I actually submitted but if you ask me on different days my opinions of the middle players changes a lot: Entro > Richard > Kate > false > M Dragon > fade > 7u9i2 > Aberforth > Reje

hf (no gl) everyone. dont get too stressed like me every year

I can't really evaluate every player or team that well but what I know for sure is that we are going to see a lot of amazing games from this SCL. It goes without saying for a tour like this, but every Matchup will be something you usually only expect out of Grand Finals. I'm looking forward to all the games, exciting to the last turn as well as new innovative plays and strategies we will get from this Season!

since we have all the starters revealed week 1, i wanna do a quick prediction for Ubers

SV Ubers: entrocefalo vs fade - entro is probably the best sv uber player rn, but i believe fade is a super good player and has more experience now in this tier compared to last year to put on a better peformance. this is still entro's to lose easily tho but its SV uber and fade can 100% pull off an upset

SV Ubers: RichardMillePlain vs M Dragon - im super big on richard, but he is up against an incredibly good tours player with some experience in sv ubers. I think it will take a week or 2 for mdragon to get in groove, so if there is any time that he has a chance to lose, its week 1 vs richard

SV Ubers: Kate vs FALSE - I rate kate super highly in sv ubers, false not so much. this should favor kate like 65/35

SV Ubers: Reje vs Aberforth - this mu is a definition of getting drafted by having clout lowkey. Aber has more experience in sv ubers but his tour results been terrible all year. I think reje despite having minimal experience will pull up and win

SV Ubers: 7u9i2 vs Icemaster - icl ice hasnt shown anything impressive in sv ubers, and his opponent is the most recent circuit winner. its his to lose

Prediction format if anyone wants to do their own:

Icemaster vs RichardMillePlain
Aberforth vs Entrocefalo
false vs Reje
M Dragon vs Kate
fade vs 7u9i2

Icemaster vs RichardMillePlain
Probably the closest matchup on paper here, with both coming off of wins last week. Richard's dismantling of M Dragon's stall team was very impressive, but I've bolded Ice here instead as my prediction. Richard is very good, but I just have the feeling Ice is going to show up in this game, and of course he also has Nora support. Nora support, as anyone who has ever teamed up with him can attest, is worth at least an extra 2 wins in the regular season, and this is my prediction for where the first of those two comes for Ice.

false vs Reje
False got a bit lucky against Kate last week, but Reje has no support and false has probably the best support anyone could ask for on the Gibles, and I just feel false is more in tune with the meta as a whole.

M Dragon vs Kate
Kate got a bit unlucky last week while M Dragon had a poor week 1 by his standards. I'm going to bold Kate just because of her history in this tier, and because I felt her prep last week pushed the needle out a bit more with the Roar Tera Fire Fairyceus.

fade vs 7u9i2
Fade had the most impressive win last week, against unanimous first placed entro, while 7u9i2 will be hoping to put his week one performance behind him. There's no way to predict against fade given the way week 1 went for both of them, and the experience of playing in so many previous officials will be invaluable against an opponent who still seems like they are getting used to the limelight.

SCL Ubers Recap Week 1
This may take some time to do every week especially since I'm a very busy person but I do like discussion, breaking down games, and seeing the metagame shift. None of this is meant to be an inch-perfect analysis and there may be plenty of errors as I am doing this for pure entertainment with less in-depth recaps than someone who would have the time to do so. I'd also like this to serve as a purpose to help people understand the tier better, encourage others to hop in the discussion as well, and keep the thread somewhat alive compared to last year, especially since every other tier is active in their own discussion thread. As time goes on, my availability may open up so I might add more ideas to the recaps and have better quality posts. Hopefully, I should have every recap up by Tuesday at most.
Every recap will be strictly unbiased as a whole with little to no disrespect or denouncement towards others. I do not care about negativity nor do I want to feed into it, people got real shit goin on, this can be a game you are passionate about but keep allat ignorant shit to yourself, it's free to not be a dumbass.
Also feel free to let me know if a play or sequence I said is wrong/debatable, or if you had a different process/route to win the game via here or dm, doesn't matter.
I will also be rating each team, what is that metric based on? Whatever I feel like it idk what to tell u, probably a mix of everything idk.

Ah, the simplistic webs vs glimm offense matchup. Fade loading Kyu-B webs and Entrocefalo loading Kingambit + Glimm Offense. The game starts with Fade revealing trick on Ribombee, gaining better positioning in the matchup. Entro decides to go into Ekiller to likely SD as Ribombee can get up a free sticky web. Fade double switches into Ghostceus on the evident Swords Dance as Entro reveals to be EQ and not Shadow Claw, and even less likely to be Taunt considering it didn't go for it as it gets Roared out. In comes Miraidon from the phasing Ghostceus, Fade decides to sack the Ribombee as he deems its usefulness no longer needed. Fade brings in Zacian-C, predicting the Miraidon to switch, he clicks SD, making him more potent towards Entro's team. Entro decides to bring in Necrozma-Dusk-Mane and it proceeds to get obliterated by an unexpected Tera Stellar boosted Wild Charge alongside the Electric Terrain boost. Entro decides to bring in Koraidon, he proceeds to switch out, sacks the Glimmora, which allows him to waste Electric Terrain and not rely on a roll to live Wild Charge. He brings Koraidon back in, Terastallizes into Fire and Flame Charges the Zacian-C. Fade brings in Ghostceus, gets hit with scale as it judgment's the Koraidon, killing it as well as dying to poison damage. Fade, presumably wins the speed tie as he Brings in Koraidon and Low Kicks the Miraidon blasting it into another dimension. At this point, the game was very much over and Entro did not have any openings.
I liked this game a lot, two great players and nice team choices from both sides, looking forward to what else they bring in the future weeks.
fade (9.5/10)
entrocefalo (8.5/10)

Congrats to Fade on the win.

For the sake of this discussion, I did watch this, at no point in my life would I ever sit and watch a stall game live or watch the whole replay from start to finish, I could be doing a million other things, but before I get into the game, I do want to say that I think M Dragon should get more credit than he does as he went 5-2 in SCL III and 5-3 in SCL II. He puts in a lot of effort, compared to a lot of other non-mainers in past SCL's who just slot in any lower-tier thinking they would run through everyone and get easy sheet wins, spoilers, they didn't. Now let's get into the game, Richard decided to bring some scary offense, which I would expect nothing less from him, one of the most offensively innovative players currently and M Dragon, someone who is slept on the Power Rankings every year but continues to put up good numbers across the board decided to bring some absolutely vile, grimy, disgusting, half-assed, lack of a father stall. Bit aside, I will no longer complain about stall in this post no matter how inconsistent and matchup fishy it is. M Dragon starts the game off by leading with Gliscor, as every person who would want to pilot stall should, as Richard leads off with Miraidon. Miraidon goes for the Draco Meteor as Gliscor goes for Protect so it can activate Poison Heal. Richard is just going to Draco again as he has no reason not to as Blissey comes in, the eject pack activates, allowing Koraidon to come into play. Richard tries to predict the Ho-Oh to come in, to no avail, Gliscor comes in to scout the Koraidon. Richard doubles into Calyrex-Ice as it gets hit with Toxic, which M Dragon decides to bring in his Stallceus-Normal to tank the Glacial Lance or punish the Calyrex-Ice if it gets to +2 Attack with Foul Play. Richard switches to Miraidon in on the Stallceus to absorb the Will-O-Wisp or Foul Play while M Dragon recovers safely knowing he forces the Calyrex-Ice out. Richard makes a double, switching into Koraidon predicting Clodsire or Blissey to come in. He clicks Outrage as M Dragon switches into Skeledirge, taking a Choice Banded Outrage alongside a Critical Hit OHKO'ing the Skeledirge from full. M Dragon brings in Gliscor while the Koraidon is locked into outrage so he can Toxic a massive threat. M Dragon clicks protect to recuperate while the Koraidon takes some poison damage. Richard withdraws Korai and brings in Mirai while M Dragon does the same and brings in his Ho-Oh, Richard doubles into Koraidon knowing M Dragon isn't in a position to be aggressive and stay in with Ho-Oh and goes into Clodsire. Koraidon can now claim one, which it does as clodsire get's cooked because it was playing too much in the sun. Ho-Oh comes in and takes a chunk from outrage as it revenge kills the Koraidon. Richard's Miraidon comes in and clicks Draco Meteor as M Dragon brings in Blissey, taking 30% and getting taunted so he can not soft-boil up and gain recovery. Richard switches hard into Lando-T as the bliss clicks Seismic Toss, taking damage from Lando's Rocky Helmet. M Dragon switches into gliscor while lando clicks u-turn, pivoting into miraidon once again, as it goes for taunt on the gliscor which clicks protect. M Dragon Tera Fairies the gliscor on the well expected draco and clicks EQ. Mirai clicks drift on the glisc which protected. M Dragon brings the Ho-Oh back in on the taunt and switches into bliss on the drift. Gliscor comes back in and gets taunted by the mirai, but killing it with eq in the process. Zac-C comes in and clicks SD as the gliscor switches out into Arceus. It goes for CC, takes the arceus out the game completely, wild charges the Ho-Oh, and blades the glisc. Game over.
I will say that I did not enjoy writing this shit at all, I don't think I'm going to write the whole thing down if a stall game exceeds 25+ turns, if I do, it's going to be comedic.
The game was definitely in richard's favor but the outrage crit on dirge turn 8 solidified it, I think going dirge there was suboptimal, once dirge is too low, your positioning is awful but it's still winnable compared to getting crit, very unfortunate.
skarm + bliss > normalceus

This game was too short for me to necessarily give any worthwhile analysis but I'll try. Another webs vs glimm offense matchup, but this time, False brought a demon. I am surprised to see Quiver Dance Ribombee get any sort of play, Kate decided to switch Fairyceus to set up her own stats. Unfortunately she got crit by Moonblast Turn 5 and missed Origin Pulse with her Kyogre Turn 6, which ultimately lost her the game. In my opinion, I definitely think had False not crit the Fairyceus, the game was in Kates favor no doubt. I didn't necessarily see a reason for False to keep clicking Calm Mind but it worked out in his favor.
I think QD Ribombee is very creative so hats off to False(or Fc/Lana, whoever thought of it.)
I do like Kates team, even though I didn't get to see it in action but she did reveal the sets post game such as Custap Kyogre, HBD Agility Miraidon, and the Scarf Brick Break Lando. Looking forward to her skills and teambuilding expertise being shown in a real game.

Congrats to False on the win.

Here we have Aberforth using standard Screens HO while Reje is using some sort of Ho-Oh + Treads + Waterceus core. Reje decides to lead off with Zac-C as Aber leads off with Miraidon. Reje decides to go for the Behemoth Blade while Aber clicks Flame Charge, doing some nice damage and gaining +1 speed. Play Rough could've been bad here but not like Aber really had a switch in, I think Reje's structure needs CC and Charge is required, so I'm gonna guess that is what Aberforth was thinking as well. Reje decides to switch out his Zac-C as Aber goes for SD, predicting that exact play. Aber goes for outrage but is negated as Reje brings in his Zac-C once more, which he proceeds to pivot into Ho-Oh to go at an attempt to let Koraidon die to Life Orb damage, unfortunately for him, Ho-Oh got blown back to the shadow realm and he has to sack another mon, he decided Zac-C was his best option. As Morai dies to LO damage, Reje goes into his own Miraidon as Aber goes into Grimmsnarl and clicks Taunt on the Koraidons Substitute or potential SD. Grimmsnarl goes for both screens as Miraidon clicks Flare Blitz for two turns. Reje attempts to go for sub again but Aber taunts him once more and Parting Shots out into Groundceus on the Scale Shot. Reje switches into Waterceus to try to chip down the Groundceus as soon as possible with Judgment as Aber clicks Taunt to make sure no sort of CM or recovery could happen. Waterceus dies as Reje goes into Miraidon which is revealed to be scarf as he clicks u-turn on the groundceus killing it, pivoting into Koraidon as Aber can now go into Zacian-C with no issue. Zac-C goes for behemoth hitting the Miraidon for a decent chunk as Reje Volt-Switches into Treads. Reje decides to Tera Fairy his Treads and dies to behemoth blades off rip. Reje goes into Miraidon as he attempts to kill the Zac-C with volt switch as Aber switches into Miraidon to eat the attack. Reje’s Koraidon loses the speed tie and dies and at this point, the game is 100% over.

I was very surprised to see Reje get drafted, especially with how many good players were left in the undrafted pool(Emoxu9, Skyiew, SiTuM, and many others that I don't feel like typing out or I don't remember.) and I was even more surprised to see they didn't draft any support but I do think Reje is a player who can do well if he puts in the effort, he got drafted and is starting for a reason so someone saw a vision and believed in him, and the last thing you should do, is doubt anyone's capability.
I do like the style of team Reje brought, on paper, as I do think it has a lot of exploitative weaknesses. Scarf or rather Offensive Ho-Oh is something I like to see, unfortunately it didn’t get to shine in this match, hopefully in the future weeks it can.
Nothing to say about Aber's team, it's pretty safe and standard but I like it, especially outrage korai, nice job.

Aber (8/10)
Reje (7.5/10)

Congrats on the win Aberforth.

Webs mirror, battle of the who teched harder. The game starts off with Icemaster leading Ribombee and 7u9i2 leading Zacian-C. Ribombee is revealed to be Choice Scarf as the Zacian-C is revealed to be Substitute. 7u9i2 goes for SD as Icemaster switches into Miraidon, and switches back to Ribombee to tank the Close Combat which he can proceed to Moonblast to break the sub, putting Zac-C in a less threatening position. Icemaster goes into Iron Treads and gets up Stealth Rocks as Zac-C clicks CC revealing Sash Treads. 7u9i2 withdraws the Zac-C and brings in Ghostceus to potentially block Rapid Spin. Icemaster switches Miraidon in on the Ghostceus Recover and clicks Electro Drift while 7u9i2 clicks CM. Ghostceus takes a large chunk and dies the next turn after. 7u9i2 brings in Miraidon to perhaps bait the Tera Fairy or take Draco so Icemasters Miraidon can be at -2, unfortunately for him, Icemaster revealed Dragon Pulse and killed the Miraidon outright. At this point, the game is over as Miraidon + Tera Ghost Ghostceus is too much for 7u9i2s team.
Turn 3 - I do think it would've been safer if 7u9i2 had went for behemoth instead of CC that turn, yea with webs up mirai is the worst mon you'd wanna see out so I understand the attempt to get rid of a huge threat but it's too important for Ice to stay in and even risk CC / Tera Ground.
Nice version of webs from both sides, I really like the Tera Ghost Ghostceus choice on Icemasters team.
Icemaster (8.5/10)
7u9i2 (7/10)

Congrats to Icemaster on the win.

Predictions
Icemaster vs RichardMillePlain - "Richard Millie, no time to explain"
Aberforth vs Entrocefalo - I think entro is ahead of the curb in this tier and he has more support but Aber could come out with the win, I expect a great game from these two players no question
false vs Reje - Fc + Lana broken ass support vs "?" support? Idk who is supporting Reje but I think False takes the win
M Dragon vs Kate - Kate didn't get to play the game last week so ima just bold her off principle, it could go either way
fade vs 7u9i2 - Gojo.

will definitely see more boots this week, or maybe just a rayquaza by richard or entro who doesn't have to worry about pesky webs and tspikes

cool week 1 to watch except for the ribombee crit and the dirge crit if it was tera fairy

Prediction format:

Entrocefalo vs false
Kate vs Icemaster
Reje vs M Dragon
7u9i2 vs RichardMillePlain
fade vs Aberforth

Entrocefalo vs false
false's game last week was really weirdly played and I dont think 0-3 entro is ever going to happen, esp with the depth the platoon have in ubers.

Kate vs Icemaster
Kate had a nice win against M Dragon last week while Ice never really got it going against Richard, and I think Ice probably dislikes SV slightly more than Kate does. Wish this game was last gen instead.

Reje vs M Dragon
Reje had a very nicely played win against false and was always in control, but much like with entro, I dont think M Dragon will go 0-3. M Dragon also has had the harder initial schedule with both Richard and Kate up in his first two weeks, so i dont think his record has reflected his strength of teambuilding or play so far.

7u9i2 vs RichardMillePlain
7u9i2 was unfortunate against fade with the Dynamax Cannon crit, but richard has looked in fine form in his two games so far and is clearly the favourite here. I suspect once 7u9i2 gets his first win, he'll go on a streak, but I dont anticipate this being that week.

SCL Ubers Recap Week 2
This week we saw a shift in team structures with a 60% Arceus-Fairy usage rate, compared to a minuscule 10% last week as it seems that people are done with the webs outbreak. Kyurem-B enters the abyss never to be seen again and unsurprisingly, Miraidon, Koraidon, and Zacian-C remain at the top, with the same usage rate they had last week.

Icemaster decides to lead with his Deo-S, the first one of the tour, attempting to get up a spike as Richard goes for agility, allowing himself to outpace the entire team becoming an even larger threat than it was before as nothing looks forward to coming in without dying or taking a large amount of damage from life orb alongside a possible tera. Icemaster at this point, has only two choices, either A, go into fairyceus and judgment or B, go into another mon, and play tera mind games, either way, Richard is in a favorable position no matter what. As the miraidon falls, a scarf lando revenge kills the beat down fairyceus as Icemaster goes into his own able to click u-turn freely as they both go into zacian-c trading blades. Richard's koraidon comes in and wins two speed ties as it obliterates 3 mons back to back to back with outrage. Feds did a sweep.

I expected 7u9i2 to show greatness, instead he brought this Highlord-adjacent ass team. Both players decide to switch out their miraidons as fade goes into his Fairyceus and clicks CM on the treads as 7u9i2 goes into a fairyceus of his own, as he will attempt to trade calm minds, but to no avail, it gets taunted as it is shown to be faster than the opposing fairyceus so it was able to get one calm mind. He got incredibly lucky with an early crit on fade's fairyceus, which for sure shifted the projection of the game as I don't see anything that can come in to kill the fairyceus after 7u9i2's fairyceus dies. The calm mind war continues until fade runs out of recovers and 7u9i2 runs out of judgments as his own will die to the opposing judgment. 7u9i2 brings in his koraidon and flare blitz's the fairyceus which will allow fade to go into his own koraidon and claim a kill with band outrage, to which 7u9i2 sacks the alomomola so he can bring in scarf miraidon safely and click draco. Fade decides to sack his own miraidon and bring in ndm to click DD on the miraidon switch and clicks DD again on the band koraidon CC, killing it with photon the next turn which allows 7u9i2 to bring scarf miraidon back in and draco. Fade brings in his etern, clicking agility, predicting mirai to switch out. He activates his tera, revealed to be water and clicks meteor beam into fire blast on the treads. 7u9 brings in his mirai, activates tera ghost, so he can live a +1 dynamax cannon and ends up getting crit, tough scene, game over.

M Dragon scouts Kate's miraidon by going for protect trying to assert the situation as quick as possible, he switches into zacian-c on the draco, forcing the miraidon to switch into ndm. Zacian-C sets up an SD as Kate's ting lu switches out into waterceus, which takes a large chunk from wild charge but gets hit with will-o, making it free for Kate to bring in ndm and click morning sun. Koraidon goes for a LO boosted cc on the waterceus which is revealed to be sludge bomb, getting it poisoned in the process. Kate clicks DD on her ndm as M Dragon switches out into koraidon, she sets up another DD to outspeed the opposing miraidon while miraidon clicks electro drift, putting ndm on the verge of death as the ndm hits it back, killing it in cold blood. M Dragon brings in the koraidon, revenge killing the ndm with u-turn as he pivots into gira-o, tera steels, to try to catch the dragon move on miraidon, unfortunately for him, Kate was prepared and clicked drift with her scarf mirai and proceeded to win the speed tie on the last turn to win the game.

False got put under Reje's tsukuyomi cuz he did NOT know that he simply was the pawn in Reje's game.

False rapid spins on the glimm as it clicks tera ghost, he proceeds to eq as Reje switches into kyogre, critting it in the same sequence. False activates his tera on the kyogre and get's turned into grits by origin pulse. False brings in his miraidon, calming minding on the ogre switch into glimm and drifting the glimm out of commission. Reje goes into zac-c, scaring out the miraidon while it clicks sub. False clicks SD but is hit with a photon and dies effortlessly. False brings in fairyceus to twave the ndm as it sets up a dd, then healing wishes to the miraidon in hopes of ndm getting paralyzed to cm on it, ndm breaks through the paralysis and kills the miraidon with eq.

Aberforth finally got his revenge after going 0-2 to entro in WCOP, he sought out his precognition here, his team countered entro's team hard and dragged him to the pits of hell. Entro starts the game off by leading ribombee to get up webs as Aber brings in treads to spin freely as entro has no way to negate spin besides clicking tera ghost on bee. Entro brings in his groundceus and clicks cm on the treads headtop while aber reveals bulldoze and sash endeavor, putting the groundceus in a terrible position but entro scouted it as he goes for recover. Entro under pressure, decides to bring in his kyogre on the endeavor, revealing custap, getting rid of the ominous threat. Entro brings in miraidon, unfortunately, he loses another speed tie and dies to scale shot. Aber clicks agility on the ribombee, dodging stun spore in quick succession but misses fire blast next turn in the process. He decides to go for another agility to guarantee the outpacing of koraidon, fire blast finally hits, and he meteor beams the koraidon, game over. Bulldoze + Sash Endeavor Treads, Defensive Fairyceus, and Agility + Beam Etern. There was absolutely nothing entro could do, excellent prep from Aber and I expect entro to bounce back from 0-2 starting this week, he's too good to go negative.

SCL Ubers Recap Week 3
A day late but I am unfortunately busy so I didn't have a chance to make a recap in time, let alone watch most of the games last week as I only got to see 2 live. This week, we see a recession in glimm ho, lando, and fairyceus stocks as only 1/4 of them each came out victorious, NDM going from a 100% winrate in week 2 to a 0% in week 3, a riches to rags story, while koraidon, miraidon, and zacian-c remain at the top of the hierarchy.

Finally, after a long arrival, entro recuperates and picks up a victory against false in incredible fashion. False starts early with an attempt to set up his cm + iron defense fairyceus, getting a threat in mirai out of the way quickly. Entro brings in his sash + endeavor treads, the ultimate counter and clicks tera ghost to guarantee being in a range of 1-14% to render the fairyceus useless, causing all of falses effort to go down the drain. Korai comes in revenge killing the fairyceus as false goes into his glimm, in the hopes of killing korai with dazzling gleam only for entro to reveal sash after going for flame charge shifting the match towards entro far more than it already was. Korai clicks cc on the glimm, frying it completely, and leaving the ndm with a body that can't be recovered as it dies to sunsteel. Entro goes into his ekiller and clicks SD into espeed, killing the ndm and putting the korai in range of sucker/shard. Entro goes for ice shard three times and cleans the rest of false's mons.

M Dragon strikes back with his first victory of the season, glad it happened cuz I was lookin crazy after all that credit I gave him week one. M Dragon leads off with his fairyceus as Reje leads off with his treads going for stealth rock as it gets burned. Reje switches out into his own fairyceus to twave the other to stop any entro vs false-like situations. Reje reveals endeavor on treads rather early but it works out when he pivots from lando back into the treads for judgment to endeavor the fairyceus for 72%. Fairyceus healing wishes the miraidon as m dragon switches into his own mirai and dies to dpulse. Reje activates his tera, revealing ghost to tank the attack from the scarf koraidon, killing it with drift. M Dragon brings in his kingambit, not attempting to risk anything, goes for sucker on the miraidon twice as reje brings in his lando, forcing the gambit out as he can freely pivot into mirai, causing the glimm to die to drift as the mirai dies to poison. Reje brings in his korai as m drag brings in his kyu-b, kyu-b tera fires, resisting the flare blitz and clicking spear, destroying the korai from full. Reje brings in his caly and takes a large chunk of damage from sun boosted tera blast and kills the kyu-b in the process. Fairyceus kills caly and dies to gambit, winning m drag the game.

The match of the undefeated, mj vs lebron, messi vs ronaldo , shawn michaels vs undertaker. Turn 1, ekiller is revealed to have cloak as glimm went for mspin, in this position, aber is forced to stay in as switching out is too risky and you're better off letting glimm die to +4/+6 and either bringing in a bike or sash ray. Glimm dies after fade gets to +6 and aber decides to bring in his sash ray and clicks dragon ascent and luckily being faster than the ekiller and using espeed first. Fade can go into any of his mons freely to kill the ray and decides to go into korai. Aber brings in his own korai and loses the speed tie and dies to scale, korai being boosted, aber is now forced to go into groundceus, take damage, and kill it with eq. Fade goes into flutter and clicks taunt on the recover and clicks sball, wins another speed tie on the mirai and kills it with moonblast causing aber to now have to go into zacian. He goes for cc on the zac and dies to fade's own by blades. Fade goes for SD on the groundceus, dies to eq, just to scout as mirai can come in and kill groundceus at that range.

7u9i2 brought my opinion back to what it was before he brought some bullshit last week as he decided to bring some ogre bulky offense, something I enjoy in this tier for sure and Richard, bringing glimm offense with lo deo-a alongside a bunch of powerhouses. Richard clicks sd with his korai on the ting lu switch to ogre forcing 7u9i2's hand by having him tera fairy his ogre to disallow any form of sweep or long-term detrimental damage to the team. As the ogre kills the korai, zacian now has a free opportunity to come in and attack as nothing would like to come in. 7u brings in a zac of his own on the glimm clicking behemoth while the glimm sets up rocks due to the zac-c being slower because of mud shot. Richard goes into his own zac-c and clicks sd killing the ting lu but dying to korai's vengefulness the turn later. Zacian obliterates the deo-a switch-in, as richard brings in his mirai in an attempt to kill the zacian or catching the groundceus with a sun boosted overheat but to no avail, 7u goes into korai and tanks the attack, allowing himself to freely u-turn as he can't die to overheat at that range. Richard brings in his fairyceus and clicks iron defense, making it nearly unkillable, as 7u's fishes for the burn with sacred fire, getting it on the first attempt. 7u goes into his zacian to click sd freely as fairyceus is forced to tera poison and can't do enough damage back to not get set up on. Unfortunately for Richard, 7u's ho-oh is revealed to be sub, stalling out the fairyceus recovers to eventually die to burn damage + brave bird.

M Dragon vs entrocefalo - The two people I had ranked #1(entro) and #3(m drag) in my PR, both 1-2 overall due to certain aspects of the game but I expect entro to take the win and go on a hot streak from here.
Lana vs fade - Lana has finally been freed and I am looking forward to her style of play, unfortunately fade is in his bag with a 3-0 so I could never bet against gojo.
Aberforth vs 7u9i2 - 7u finally got his victory as well but Aber is lookin real strong in all three of his matches, I don't necessarily like the endgame he had this week but like I say every time, shit happens and he WILL bounce back cuz he's that good.
Icemaster vs Reje - The iceman himself should take this victory, last week was an unfortunate game but he will recover from that deficit and rise up to peak condition.

RESURGENCE

During Week 4, I lost a bit of motivation and got busier, then I went on vacation, I came back week 7 and wrote a recap more detailed than ever with so many new elements for weeks 4-7, I had it saved to the drafts because it wasn't done and it disappeared in two days so I said fuck it, I'm not continuing this shit but I told someone if their team made playoffs I would do it all over again, less detailed than I initially had it(If it’s more than 30 turns, it probably ain’t getting touched, ima keep it a buck, if it says "yeah" that's a guaranteed not happening), the team unfortunately made playoffs and I'm a man of my word so here we are, back, with a new approach, better than ever....

SCL Ubers Recap Week 4
  • Glimm continues to show how inconsistently bad it can be with a 22% WR overall. (It’s WR stayed the same from the last time I wrote this shit lol)
  • Ditto outbreak, after 3 weeks of straight offense, people have started to counter that key playstyle of the metagame using the equalizer.
  • Lana unleashed after a subpar performance from false.
  • First Lunala sighting since Neil Armstrong landed on the moon.
  • Kyogre & Ho-Oh left home with 100k to gamble at the casino and came home with 0.
  • Webs seemed to have took all of Kyogre & Ho-Oh’s money before they even got there.
1731627197976.png1731627205033.png1731627210676.png1731627232376.png1731627236573.png1731627240481.png1731625357699.pngM Dragon vs entrocefalo1731625362649.png1731627251118.png1731627232376.png1731627205033.png1731627270353.png1731627276017.png1731627284331.png
Webs continues to be one of the best, if not the best playstyle at the moment; way harder to play around and it doesn’t look like the ghostceus webs will be slowing down anytime soon, while M Dragon decides to bring some standard balance. Scarf Ribombee lead into Ho-Oh, 5x scale shots back to back turns, and a fire blast dodge with zacian, ultimately winning entro the game definitively. Entro got a little bit lucky this game but nothing I would say drastically changed the outcome of the game.

1731627355556.png1731627205033.png1731627525605.png1731627251118.png1731627284331.png1731627559594.png1731625406262.pngLana vs fade1731625398155.png1731627210676.png1731627284331.png1731627402119.png1731627393479.png1731627205033.png1731627355556.png
The first sighting of Ditto, it didn’t get any playtime as the game was won before it came out. Glimm sets up a tspike while LO Mirai gives it a life lesson, Groundceus comes in and gets hit with Draco as it clicks Judgment, killing the Miraidon but putting the Groundceus in range of any mon to be revenge killed. Caly-Ice comes in and clicks Tera Fire to tank the BB and set up TR. Caly-Ice clicks SD on the Zacian CC as the Fairyceus comes in and lives the glacial roll, allowing two TR turns to be wasted. At this point, the game was over whether jon won the speed tie with his mirai or not. Well, there was certain variables that could have helped endgame but who cares. Small mistakes can cost you the game, in this instance, it was not clicking recover on the draco, I do understand jon’s viewpoint as he thought it could be agility + dpulse and he clicked tspikes over mudshot first because he thought it could be eject pack, shit happens.

1731627205033.png1731627355556.png1731627197976.png1731627711580.png1731627525605.png1731627240481.png1731625370975.pngAberforth vs 7u9i21731625584034.png1731627284331.png1731627276017.png1731627355556.png1731627251118.png1731627205033.png1731627402119.png
Finally, CM Ghostceus without webs, unfortunately for Aber, he brought treads into this shit. Aber catches 7u on the scarf u-turn and clicks overheat on the zacian switch, scorching it to oblivion and pivoting into ho-oh with the eject pack. 7u starts to get bullied by the kyogre as it’s free to come in and click ice beam on several turns but it’s slowly dying from the hazards. With ogre very low, Caly-I has a way better time than it would it being healthy. 7u sacks the korai to ho-oh after killing the opposing one to allow mirai to come in and click u-turn into ghostceus and set up a free CM, forcing ho-oh to come in and whirlwind. Aber safely whirlwinds out the caly-I on a potential tera fire + sd and burns the ghostceus as it clicks cm. Caly-I comes in on the treads volt switch and clicks SD on the recover, setting up tr, and now able to spam glacial. Caly eventually dies to the ogre as ghostceus can now come in and click cm and win the game.

1731627559594.png1731627205033.png1731627355556.png1731627820371.png1731627284331.png1731627210676.png1731625412271.pngIcemaster vs Reje1731625391140.png1731627766572.png1731627284331.png1731627775367.png1731627789369.png1731627205033.png1731627210676.png
The first sighting of Lunala begins as it’s paired up with threats such as groundceus, dual bikes, zacian, and ditto vs traditional webs with dual steels + kyu-b. Icemaster brings in his ditto turn 1 in an attempt to get up sticky webs of his own but Reje seen it coming from a mile away as he brings in groundceus. Ice switches ditto out into korai and takes a chunk of damage from eq, flare blitzing, trying to get as much damage done as possible and dies to the second eq. Ice goes into his own arc and clicks judgment as reje switches into his own bee, breaking it’s potential sash. Reje clicks stun spore, predicting the zacian-c to come in to get an opportunity to shift the game projection. The endgame goes on for a bit more but not to any surprise, zacian + kyu-b was too much for the rest of ice’s team.

1731627355556.png1731627210676.png1731627205033.png1731627251118.png1731627284331.png1731627197976.png1731625425632.pngRichardMillePlain vs Kate1731625386161.png1731627276017.png1731627205033.png1731627355556.png1731627284331.png1731627251118.png1731627936560.png
I don’t think I’ve seen Kate not go for a single speed tie, doesn’t matter the turn, I like that mentality, for the better or for the worse. RPM clicks u-turn, disengaging his korai and pivoting into zac to take the draco. RPM clicks blades as Kate goes into her lando and sets up rocks while taking two blades. She switches into her ghostceus on the pr as RPM goes into ogre and clicks beam on the korai switch-in. Kate doubles into ghostceus and sets up cm as mirai comes in, sets up again on the drift, clicks judgment on the taunt, kills the mirai and gets revenge killed by the korai. Kate goes into mirai and clicks draco as RPM sacks lando. Kyogre misses pulse on mirai but activates its custap and kills mirai with beam. Korai comes in and clicks u-turn and kills ogre for free, pivoting into zacian while RPM brings in his korai, tera fires and clicks flare blitz, obliterating the dog. Kate goes into her own korai, wins the speed tie, and wins the game.

SCL Ubers Recap Week 5
  • Webs continues to take everyones money and has no indication of stopping anytime soon.
  • Debut of Iron Bundle, Zamazenta, and Hatterene.
  • Deoxys-Attack & Rayquaza return for the second time this year.
  • Mashing unleashed.
  • Speed-Tie Sweatshop still open.

1731628822382.png1731627205033.png1731627240481.png1731628795387.png1731628180441.png1731627355556.png7u9i2 vs Kate1731625386161.png1731627197976.png1731628769366.png1731627210676.png1731627205033.png1731627355556.png1731627789369.png
Very unique structure from 7u here while Kate used standard glisc + ogre bo. 7u low kicks the ogre while Kate clicks pulse thinking that 7u would pivot out into the likes of ho-oh/arch/hatt, in range of a 2hko. Kate is forced to switch out as she goes into glisc, knowing the sequence, 7u switches into bundle to catch the glisc. Bundle clicks pump while Kate tera waters the glisc and clicks toxic, putting the threatening penguin on a timer. Senseless turns of no progression goes on till korai outrages the groundceus, putting itself in range to die to judgment. Mirai comes in and clicks a free dpulse on the arc switches to ogre. Glisc gets up tspikes, making it quite difficult for ekiller + lo mirai in the back. Ekiller eventually comes in and kills the mirai, kate decidingly goes into korai and doubles into glisc on the bundle switch-in. Kate switches against into NDM and clicks DD twice as it gets hit with nuzzle by hatt. Atp, the game is over, the other turns didn’t matter as toxtect glisc + ndm was too much for a poisoned ekiller with only 8 recover pp.

1731627284331.png1731627205033.png1731627393479.png1731627210676.png1731627775367.png1731627789369.png1731625362649.pngentrocefalo vs Icemaster1731625412271.png1731627766572.png1731627284331.png1731627205033.png1731627355556.png1731627820371.png1731627210676.png
Icemaster decided to bring lunala back to back, this time on webs while entro brought glimm, the sisyphus of the metagame, doomed to fail and only good on paper. Entro decides to lead off with zac this time after getting flashbacks from leading glimm into scarf bee. Entro activates his tera and attempts to mortal spin on the korai as ice goes into zacian to block it, enabling himself to set up a SD as entro clicks mud shot to have the scarf korai be faster and revenge kill it. Ice brings in lunala, clicks cm, and sweeps the rest of the team.

1731627210676.png1731627251118.png1731627284331.png1731628246184.png1731627205033.png1731627355556.png1731625398155.pngfade vs Mashing1731625357699.png1731628180441.png1731627355556.png1731627284331.png1731627251118.png1731627205033.png1731628194896.png
Two straight offenses, nothing new, a bit time as one has a zamazenta and the other has a deoxys-attack. Jon leads off with mirai on thr obvious deo-a and clicks dpulse while mashing psycho boost. Mashing switches into zac and clicks blades critting the lando, putting it in range of a second blades forcing jon to switch into groundceus and recover. Jon flare blitzes the lando, sending it into oblivion. Mashing brings zac back in knowing korai is banded and clicks blades as jon sacks his lando and brings back in his mirai to drift. Mashing goes into her own and clicks agility as jon goes into zac to sack it to lo drift, allowing him to go into groundceus with no issue and click recover to scout draco. Jon goes for ID while Mashing clicks low kick and she doubles into mirai as jon recovers again, clicking overheat. Korai comes in and lk’s the groundceus, jon goes into mirai, tera ghost to be immune and clicks drift, switches out to sack the korai to bring the terrain back out once mirai comes back in. Unfortunately for jon, ekiller revealed to be tera ghost, and he ends up losing the game.

1731627270353.png1731627711580.png1731627276017.png1731627205033.png1731627355556.png1731627284331.png1731625370975.pngAberforth vs Lana1731625406262.png1731627270353.png1731627711580.png1731627276017.png1731627205033.png1731627355556.png1731627284331.png
Same six, different structure, beautiful. Lana leads off with a scarf bee as she tricks the treads, locking it into rocks, forcing it to switch. Aber goes into bee and sets up his own sticky web as lana stun spores the opposing. Treads comes in and is blocked by lana’s ghostceus, forcing another switch and a free CM. Aber brings in korai and clicks lo outrage, doing a large chunk to ghostceus but receiving the same amount of damage back, the equivalent to newton’s third law. NGL, I gotta go somewhere I’m going to briefly skip through this shit I ain’t comin back. Aber brings in elec seed agility mirai and clicks parabolic but lana revealed tera ground, tera blasting and blading back to back, killing the mirai and the ghostceus.

1731627402119.png1731627789369.png1731627205033.png1731627251118.png1731627284331.png1731627210676.png1731625391140.pngReje vs RichardMillePlain1731625425632.png1731627355556.png1731627766572.png1731627205033.png1731627276017.png1731627284331.png1731628858424.png
Webs vs offense, the results are too clear. Obvious bee lead from RPM and semi-obvious lead from Reje, bringing out zac almost guarantees its sub or it could be some trailblaze shit but I highly doubt the latter 9 times out of 10. Reje goes for the sub + sd in an attempt to overwhelm RPM’s team but RPM came prepared with qd and landed stun spore, rendering the zac useless and easy to revenge kill. Mirai comes in and kills the zac with drift; the groundceus comes in gets hit with draco and taunted to it can’t recover as it dies to judgment in the process. RPM brings in korai and clicks SD, scaling down the groundceus and damaging the lando immensely, dying, as it went out guns blazing. Ghostceus cm’s and wisp the korai, rendering it useless, allowing ghostceus to sweep the rest of the mons with judgment + tera ghost.

SCL Ubers Recap Week 6
  • Debut of Cresselia
  • A new competitor has risen the ranks, groundceus, for the past five weeks the top 3 remained the same, times have changed. Ting-Lu has also usurped the hierarchy.
  • Ribombee has been charged with multiple offenses and doesn’t look to be freed anytime soon.

Not much to say here, bee was lead into gira-o, forced to switch out, mashings zacian free to come in and click behemoth, killing the lunala, then switching out into korai on the opposing zac blades, flare blitzing it, destoying it. Aber goes korai and switches into bee as a sack to scout pr, which was to be revealed, forcing him to tera fire korai. Aber goes for flame charge to gain some speed, cc’s the kyogre and then the groundceus, dying in the process. Aber goes into fairyceus and tries to set up iron def but mashing goes zacian and can spam sd freely, that’s game.

Full Trick Room vs Webs, THEE worst matchup webs could’ve ever seen. Scarf mirai volt switches out into hatt and sets up tr. Groundceus judgments the mirai letting the korai come in and SD, clicking outrage immediately killing the cress but being revenge killed by scarf mirai. Taka goes into zac, sd’s, then wild charges the ogre, putting him in range of drift so he tera’s as RPM predicts that and goes for draco. Taka goes into ghostceus in an attempt to setup cm but groundceus is revealed to be perish song, game over.

Mewtwo screens vs a unique structure, don’t necessarily have a name for this, balance-adjacent? Mashing sets up reflect as 7u breaks through it by critting flare blitz, Mashing goes into lunala and psyshocks as 7u goes into clodsire, 7u tera fairies his ho-oh thinking mashing would meteor beam. Ho-oh whirlwinds out the lunala and in comes groundceus, killing the ho-oh and being revenge killed by waterceus. In comes the biggest threat of all, mewtwo, it clicks agility, tera psychics, and sweeps the rest of the team.

More mewtwo, I fuck with mewtwo. Jon leads off with korai as Kate leads off with zacian, Kate goes for sd on the eleceus switch and gets two high rolls. She reveals trailblaze, forcing jon to tera ghost to guarantee the zacian kill. Jon eventually goes into zacian and clicks SD, killing the etern and chipping the waterceus as he gets burned by wisp. Kate goes into ho-oh to live a wild charge as jon goes into lunala and moongeist, unfortunately, the ho-oh lives on 1%. Kate’s lunala is revealed to be phys def and the korai is scarf, game could not be won by jon atp.

Deo-A + Shedtail Offense vs Eleceus + Hatt BO | Scottie leads off with hatt and goes for nuzzle on the orthworm, switching into ho-oh to sacred fire something with ease. Suzuya goes into ekiller to SD as it gets chipped by ruination and whirlwinded out on espeed. Suzuya sacks zac to ho-oh and brings in lunala to meteor beam the ho-oh as Scottie activates his tera to tank the attack and whirlwind it out. Game was over from here.

Now that this is done, I would like to say I will actually go in depth instead of half-assing with the playoff matches, there was just too many games for me, I mean this shit is at 2700 words minimum.

Predictions
Icemaster vs RichardMillePlain
Last time, I predicted Richard to win but I'm going to go with Ice this time, he struggled at the beginning of the season going 1-3 but turned it around winning 5 games in a row, I think the momentum will continue.

Reje vs. Kate
I'm going to go with Reje, at the beginning of the season I said Reje was drafted for a reason and he put in the work to show he's more than capable of not only playing, but starting in this SCL.

Yk the rules, I’m not writing all that shit but I will discuss the game. Stall vs NDM + CM Ogre + CM Tera Poison Darkceus. Last week, I predicted Reje to win, I did have a thought he might bring stall but I tried to give him benefit of the doubt and that he might cook up some shit, that wasn’t the case, which led to a counterteam. I can’t say it was necessarily nice prep but merely obvious to bring shit like this vs someone who has comfort in using stall, I don’t know why he would bring stall, I just feel like there’s certain people you don’t stall, it just ends up a loss almost every time. I don’t know why Reje allowed the bliss to get knocked, matchup was hard regardless and I don’t think he was going to win the game but he definitely had better odds, but the moment bliss got knocked, the game was 100% over. Reje did have a decent run ending his season with a 4-4 record despite being ranked 10th on the pr, that’s a win for sure.

Webs vs Deo-S is tough, chances of getting webs up is so slim you basically lost the match off preview. Ice leads off with Deo-S freely, guaranteeing hazards up, don’t have to worry about agility lunala on webs or RPM clicking cm, as it just gets revenge killed by gambit, zac as well so no need to taunt at all. Ice brings in his zac and behemoths as RPM switches into lando, revealing no rocky helm, meaning it’s most likely scarf, Ice activates tera flying and clicks SD. RPM goes into korai, potentially hoping zac isn’t pr, unfortunately it was and korai got maxed out. RPM goes into his own zac, tera fires and sd’s, then blading the opposing zac into oblivion, and I’m going to assume, won two speed ties b2b. Kyogre can now come in and revenge kill the zac with spout. RPM goes into lunala and moongeist as Ice switches out his ogre into korai due to the fact that it guarantees a win the moment lunala’s shadow shield is deactivated. RPM sacks the bee to korai, goes into flyceus, Ice switches into ogre and thunders, leaving the lunala by itself with no possibility of winning, lunala comes in an gets paralyzed by thunder, game over. RPM ended his season with a 5-5 record, last year he went 4-6, 1 more win than last year, I've seen some people say he didn’t exceed expectations, who cares, I think 5-5 is fine, still the 3rd best record in the tier. “The comfort of watching is no match for the struggle of doing. -Magicitations 11:22”

Icemaster vs Kate
The two best records in the tour both in the finals. Both of these players lost to their semis opponents in the regular season and beat them in playoffs, Kate did beat Icemaster in the reg season but Ice has won 6 in a row, it’s hard to bet against him.
