Guild Patch Notes​

Maps​

  • Two new General Maps, :dragonite:Dragonite's Aerial Delivery (Level 1) and :sharpedo:Sharpedo's Stony Shore (Level 2) have been released.

Entry & Format​

  • Players can sign up for either General Maps or High Danger Maps.
    • For General Maps, the player signs up for which Level they would like to play, rather than a specific Map. When taken by a Referee, that Referee rolls for which Map they will be playing, with equal odds for each available Map at that Level. These Maps generally award Experience or Advanced Techniques. Lend a helping had to civilians or prove yourself to the Guild Leaders!
    • For High Danger Maps, the player signs up for which specific Map they would like to play. These Maps generally award Restricted Pokemon. The Guild's best are needed to tackle these threatening opponents!
  • The format for General Maps is now Bring 4, Pick 3. (The format for High Danger Maps remains Bring 3, Pick 3.)
  • For General Maps, for the Player's first post, they will choose their 3 Pokemon, equip them, and choose how to place them on the starting positions, in addition to their first movement and order of the match.
  • Step Count is now 1 instead of 3 (more on combat below).
  • Substitutions are now per team, instead of per Pokemon. Each team will have 3 substitutions.
  • Backpack Size is now 7.

The Map​

  • Maps now have Defeat Conditions. If this condition is met, the Map ends with Player loss. Players may still claim rewards for any Side Objectives they have completed. All Player Pokemon being Fainted is an assumed Defeat Condition for all maps, unless specified otherwise.
  • Many enemies now respawn, in order to give the Referee pressure on the Defeat Condition. Details on respawning can be found in each Map's data. Commonly, the condition will be that Pokemon being fainted for two rounds.

Movement, Orders, & Combat​

  • Movement, Ordering, and Combat are largely being overhauled.

Movement​

  • Each team will have N+1 movement available, where N = their number of active Pokemon.
    • Some enemies will have special rules dictating their movement (:sharpedo:).
  • No Pokemon may move more than two (2) tiles.

Orders​

  • Maneuvers have been retired.
  • Each Pokemon can receive a main order, of which themselves or an adjacent tile can be the target of, depending on the move.
    • Interact is a Command available to all Pokemon. Each Maps' objects will specify what Interact does, if anything.
    • Additional Commands may be available on a per-Map basis.
  • Pokemon move before attempting their order, and do so in the order the Player orders in.
  • Now, more than one Pokemon per round can receive orders. (With the change of steps per round to 1, this will end up playing out closer to Triples.)
  • For each order targeting an opposing Pokemon, that Pokemon gets a chance to make an order in response. (Like a traditional First Order/Second Order structure.)
  • You may still decline to move or decline to order.

Combat​

  • All (non-Fainted, non-left-the-map) Pokemon are in play at all times. Switching is Off.
  • Effects that trigger "When this Pokemon enters play" (or similar) now trigger "At the start of the round, where the user's team is the active team". (This makes abilities like Intimidate or Drought very strong proactively, but less so reactively.)
  • Effects that trigger "When this Pokemon leaves play" (or similar) now trigger "At the end of the round, where the user's team is the active team". (Similar to above, to benefit from Regenerator, you'll have to make a proactive play.)
  • You no longer ever leave play after combat.

Jobs, Leaders, and Minions​

  • Gone. (Player and referee Pokemon should find themselves on much more even footing now.)

Rewards​

  • Because Maps are now less about just beating down everything in front of you, it will be easier to get the EXP we all know you're playing for. Tying some of the EXP to the main objective means players will actually play for the main objective (rather than beating up mons and then dipping).
  • Achieving any Level 1 to 3 Map's Main Objective will award 4 EXP to all participating Pokemon.
  • For General Maps:
    • Level 1 to 3 Maps
      • Training Guild: Now reward 3 EXP (down from 4).
    • Pinnacle Maps:
      • Training Guild: Rewards :venusaurite:Mega Evolution for one (1) participating Pokemon. (Don't get too hyped just yet, no maps currently have a Training objective.)
  • For High Danger Maps:
    • All Maps:
      • Big Game Guild: Rewards a specified :unknown:Restricted Pokemon.
      • Recon Guild: Rewards EXP for that Restricted Pokemon.

What's Next for Guild?
In the immediate future (today I hope, if not then tomorrow), the main thread will be updated with these changes, and the new data thread will be released. We'll see how this new version of Guild plays. If it goes well, then expect to see more maps made for it, including those with some rewards that we know you've all been waiting for.​

The Guild Alliance is back open! Currently, Levels 1-3 are available for sign-up. Deoxys and the Paradoxes will be ready in the coming days.

Please note that there's been a slight change to the Orders section. To receive an order, a Pokemon must be adjacent to an ally, opponent, or Object who would be the target of that order. More details can be found in the now-updated main post.
