38 Wins, 8 Losses on Shoddy. RMT Por Favor.

As you can read on the title, I have a quite good winning record. 38 Wins, 8 Losses, I'm quite happy with. Well I thought I could use some insight behind the team that has done it for me. All comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Gyrados @ Focus Sash
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate
EV's: 252 Attack, 206 Speed, 52 HP

Waterfall
Dragon Dance
Ice Fang
Earthquake

Sashed Gyrados? Yep. It's a great lead, and the Sash allows me to get off my Dragon Dance, and then I have no fear, no matter what my HP is. It has done a lot for me and is a great lead. Waterfall for STAB.

dpmfa445.png

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Sand Veil
EV's: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP

Outrage
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Fire Fang

ScarfChomp. Great pokemon, Outrage and Earthquake for STAB. Great revenge killer, nothing sweeter than switching in and Outraging an entire team to death.

dpmfa437.png

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 252 HP, 8 Special Defense, 98 Defense, 152 Attack

Gyro Ball
Earthquake
Hypnosis
Stealth Rock

The Zonginator. Great wall, and saves my butt more times than I can recall. Confuse Ray is a very overlooked move, and has done a lot for me, both in the camp of stalling and self inflicting damage. Gyro Ball in combination with 0 Speed IV's creates the ultimate STAB move.

dpmfa245.png

Suicune @ Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Pressure
EV's: 252 HP, 252 Defense, 6 Special Attack

Rest
Surf
Sleep-Talk
Ice Beam

Rest Talk Suicune. Works well. Don't really know what to say.
dpmfsa094.png

Gengar @ Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 6 HP

Hidden Power (ICE)
Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Focus Blast

Gengar, the pokemon I believe with the most versatility. Runs Timid for the speed, in the speed driven metagame. I contemplate putting a Choice Scarf on this bad boy too? Shadow Ball = Awesome STAB move.

dpffa488.png

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Nature: Modest
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 20 HP, 18 Defense, 236 Special Attack, 236 Special Defense

ThunderWave
MoonLight
Psychic
Ice Beam

The Special Wall, Cresselia. Good move set offers good coverage, and ThunderWave is a pain in the ass to deal with. Psychic here is the STAB.

On Gyarados Wacan Berry will proberbly give you more succes, as Gyarados only really gets OHKOed by strong electric attacks. And with TTar everywhere you might not evem be able to utalise the sash. IMO Life Orb and Bite would do wel as getting rid of that starmie, which could just come in agani and again due to the lack of pursuit user.

On Garchomp Fire Blast really helps against some common counters like Skarm/Zong. You are proberbly wel aware that Outrage does more damage Neutral than a SE Crunch. Getting locked into Outrage isnt too bad as its not for a long period and most counters cant OHKO.

On Bronzong you should really consider Stealth Rock as it really helps against teams that rely on switching about. It also helps your sweepers get crucial 1/2HKOs. Stealth Rock should be on every team IMO and Confuse Ray is a unrelyable move.

On Suicune I think CroCune is generally superior to this in this generation. It just dies too quickly with those insane sweepers these days. Loosing Phazing could hurt but without recovery or wish support it cant take boosted attacks and continue to do so troughout the game. Maybe Vaporeon over Cune for wish support Gyara Counter (with HP Electric).

Gengar seems okay.

Cresselia without recovery?! Shadow Ball really doesn't help much as it still doesn't KO Gar and Dusknoir will just outstall you. I feel that this Cress is smoewhere in between been a support Cress and a CMCress, but not acomplishing any of the two. Blissey does this job much better and a WishBliss will help this team out alot.

A good BandHera will totally rip this team apart, but seeing this is a fairly offensive team, you cant cover everything. But Cune isnt covering anything, so why not make this team even more offensive with a BandHera of your own? Its deals with stuff that Gyara, Chomp and Gengar cant handle and those 4 are incredibly hard to wall together. Just a thought, because any kind of Cune needs (Toxic)Spikes on the other side of the field to stall/sweep succesfully. With the lack of a spinner, Cune will really be raped by toxic Spikes. But rest of team doesn't mind too much. 4 are immune and Chomp wont be staying in for long enough for the damage to add up.
Basicaly what i'm saying is that this team lacks the defences to deal with a large part of the metagame, but can prove to but very succesfull as a offensive team.

Further in-depth to the above user's rate.

Before we go any further, repalce Confuse Ray for Stealth Rock on Bronzong. No questions asked.

I believe you have the right frame of mind with Gyarados, but if you're concerned about opposing attacks that can OHKO Gyarados, notably Starmie and Gengar with Thunderbolt, then I would simply remove it for Wacan Berry. If you are forced out early and then encounter Stealth Rock damage later on, then Focus Sash became useless. With Wacan Berry, you will be able to switch in atleast once more with Stealth Rock in play while Wacan Berry reduces the Electric-type damage effectively. Just bare in mind that Leftovers is more helpful in the long-run when setting up Gyarados.

What I really wanted to bring up was the lack of recovery on both Suicune and Cressilia. You should still use these Pokemon to their full potential - using that particular moveset on Cressilia is pointless because it can't switch into the playing field to absorb attacks then heal afterwards. You have given Suicune the 'sweep early, no questions asked' set, which fails to, like Cressilia, use it to its full potential. Surely in them 46 games you realised that Rest on either one of these two defensively effective Pokemon at one time or another, particulary in the ones you lost?

Rest + Sleep Talk works well with Cressilia, and with Ice Beam and Psychic clearing of Garchomp and Infernape trouble notably, you can continuously bring in Cressilia to takes hits whilst still retaliating with the attacks suitable for OHKOs on certain threats. However, opposing Gyarados substancially sweeps you with relative ease. Counting on Garchomp's efforts to OHKO with a critical hit isn't always going to become a reality, so I would replace Psychic for Charge Beam on Cressilia for that extra lifeline.

The exact same principle for Suicune - you can't set up Calm Mind effectively when you can not heal your HP. Roar is as equally useless as Confuse Ray becase you aren't even phazing for a purpose - there is no strategy behind it because you haven't got Toxic Spikes, Spikes or Stealth Rock support to bring out the best in Roar. Replace it for Rest. As for Ice Beam, you should consider Sleep Talk so you can set-up seven though you are asleep. It gives it that fast-pace to its game and allows you to hit opposing phazers who are trying to phaze you out of the playing field. However, it isn't as important because you do have Cressilia as your Rest + Sleep Talk absorber, but bare in mind even when Suicune has Rest + Sleep Talk, you want to avoid letting it enduce the sleep because then you can't control the outcome of what happens to Suicune.

Please drop Confuse Ray on Bronzong for its plethora of options: Grass Knot for Swampert/Rhyperior, Charge Beam for Gyarados, Stealth Rock, HP Ice for dragons, etc. It is a horrible move, just like most pseudo status attacks.

Suicune needs Rest + Sleep Talk this gen. It gets 2HKOed by CB Tyranitar, SD Garchomp, DD Dragonite, etc. It needs it to survive, did I mention it gets utterly raped by Toxic Spikes otherwise? I suggest Crocune, easily the most useful set IMO being able to sweep at any moment while also taking plenty of hits and wasting away PP with Pressure. I could possibly see Roar being useful if you went with Stealth Rock>Confuse Ray, but you don't even have that.

Focus Sash is horrible on Gyarados. It is weak to Stealth Rock, the most common spike move, and it isn't immune to Sandstream OR Hail. Wacan Berry, Leftovers, and Life Orb are much better alternatives. There are really just too many problems on this team to point out.

I appreciate all these helpful comments guys. Thanks.

As for Gyrados, the way I play him, I think I will keep the Focus Sash on him, since I normally don't switch him out. I made all the other changes mentioned in bold on my edited post. Thanks, and more comments are appreciated and welcomed.

I'd like to state again that Gyarados should not have focus sash--no questions asked. I don't think its a good idea to never switch out with Gyarados, as most starters expect him, and most teams can deal with him from the get-go.

Also, Cresslia and Gengar both get raped by pursuit, and Gengar's Focus Blast is not going to save you against the specdef CBtar spread that is going around nowadays or the standard Weavile. Since you already have a counter to both in Bronzong, I would recommend replacing one of these 2 pursuited pokes for something else--probably replace Cresslia with maybe magnezone or heatran to counter steels and open up a scarfchomp rampage.
