3v3 at the Lake of Rage - The Shiny Umbreon vs Nightmare Jigglypuff!

Status
Not open for further replies.
Time for my first battle! Whoever takes this might have to put up with mild confusion on my part, given the whole "first battle" thing. Hopefully not, but we'll see.

Open Battle
3v3 Singles
3 day DQ
2 Heals/5 Chills
Arena (saw this a couple pages back and liked it):

The Lake of Rage, in Johto. There are no real restrictions on moves, but there will be rain on every day except Wednesdays (determined by what day the ref refs) unless the players choose something different, and there are Gyarados in the lake. If the players disturb the Red Gyarados in the middle he will use Dragon Rage against everyone. It is also surrounded by trees, which Pokemon can hide in or use for whatever they want. You could even set them on fire.

Challenge accepted (provided that was an open challenge.)

Alright, Cappy! Start by crying some Fake Tears, and make him feel bad about hitting you! Then Shadow Ball while he's weak, and use Quick Attack immediately after!

(For the record, his active ability is Adaptability. Wasn't sure where to mention that.)

Round 1

It's raining heavily, but I guess this should be OK anyway. Real men don't need an umbrella, so let's get it on!

TSU sends out a cute little Eevee named Cappy, while Nightmare Jigglypuff sends out a Privatyke called Popeye. That's certainly something I've never seen before!

Cappy begins the battle with... crying? It's so cute and so sad... but at least I know better, because those seem to be Fake Tears! Popeye hesitates a bit, but still hits Cappy with a good Drain Punch.

Cappy slowly gets back up and retaliates with a strong Shadow Ball, which knocks Popeye back a bit but really doesn't do much. Popeye then begins to act like a true man, Bulking Up to get some good fight into him.

Cappy, realising the threat of this, tries to use Quick Attack, at least knocking Popeye towards the water. Popeye then stops Cappy with a full-on Drain Punch, hurting the poor Eevee quite a bit.

Oof, that did a lot of damage! Let's see if you can knock him out this turn! If you go first, use Waterfall. If he digs before you attack, use Earthquake. After the first attack, use Drain Punch, then Waterfall.

Sorry about this, hated RL.

Cappy starts off with a HUGE Tackle, even knocking Popeye into the water of the Lake of Rage! Not to be deterred though, Popeye launches a Waterfall at poor Cappy! With the rain and all, it really seems to have done a lot! However, the Red Gyarados seems as though it's beginning to stir...

Brave little Cappy then uses Return, though Popeye seems to take it well. He finishes off with a Drain Punch, taking Cappy out.

Waterfall your way out of the water, then see if you can knock Kit into the water using Rock Slide. If Rock Slide misses, Rock Slide again. If Rock Slide hits the first time, use Bulk Up.

You're faster than he is, so hit him with a Thunderbolt while he's still in the water and hope that the water helps to conduct the electricity! Use Confuse Ray once he gets out of the water. If his Rock Slide misses, use Thunderbolt again, but if it hits, activate your Trace and copy his ability, nullifying that Bulk Up!

TSU sends out a cute little Ralts named Kit to replace that equally adorable Cappy, and immediately shocks Popeye with a Thunderbolt! The waves conduct all the electricity, and hit Popeye even worse for much harder damage! Popeye retaliates with another huge Waterfall, wrecking Kit. The Red Gyarados seems to really be angry, however, and lets loose a Dragon Rage, injuring both Kit and Popeye.

As Popeye exits the water, Kit immediately lets loose a Confuse Ray! It doesn't seem to have much effect though, and only deals Slight Confusion. However, it seems to have done its job, as Popeye hits itself in its confusion!

Kit then shocks Popeye once again with a Thunderbolt, hurting the little Privatyke! Its attempts to hit Kit, however, fail once again due to the Confusion! Oh well, at least it's cleared now.

Nice job, we're really wearing him down! Use Psychic to throw him into the lake again, then Thunderbolt while he's in the water for some extra damage! If he's still within range, Psychic again, and try to throw him into the Red Gyarados!

Kit then electrocutes the sailor-bird with a Thunderbolt, but Popeye doesn't seem to have taken as much damage as before, probably because there's no additional water to shock him. He then slams Kit with a Waterfall, made even more painful by the rain!

Kit's on his last legs now, but he gets off one more Psychic! Popeye then unleashes a devastating Earthquake, almost knocking out Kit!

Wait a minute... Is that the Red Gyarados?! He doesn't seem very happy with the battle and the ref's slow pace, and he unleashes a Dragon Rage, knocking out both pokemon!

Don't worry about the evolution, Michael, we can deal with it. Start out by creating a weak Substitute with about 15% of your health! Then use Water Spout, with the rain it should do a ton of damage! Then, use it (Water Spout) again!

The trainers each just sent out their Pokemon. Jiggly sends out his Gastly, Spork, and Shiny Umbreon sent out his Squirtle, Michael. The trainers are giv-- what the, is Spork evolving?! Now it is a Haunter! This could really change things! Anyway, the trainers just gave their actions, here we go! Spork starts out with Telekinesis, raising Michael into the air! As he is being lifted, Michael is being replaced by a Substitute!

While he is suspending the sub in the air, Spork is using Hypnosis to try to put Michael to sleep, but the sub blocked it. Pleased with himself, Michael used Water Spout, which is definitely going to deal a lot of damage at nearly full health in the rain!

At this point, Spork is clearly getting very upset because the substitute blocking the Hypnosis! He attacks at full force, using Thunderbolt and destroying the Substitute! The now revealed Michael once again attacks with a powerful Water Spout. Spork is definitely going to not feel as hot as he did when he evolved.

Now, Shiny Umbreon gives his next actions!

EDIT: My bad, at first I forgot to add in the damage from making the substitute.

Use Surf to summon a huge wave from behind the Red Gyarados, pushing it in towards Spork! Then Protect yourself from either of their wrath, and finish off with a Water Pulse at Spork!

Super Awesome Combo Not Combo Action Time!

Now that Telekinesis is up, attacks will not miss, so use Hypnosis on Michael, this should make him not use surf next to Gyarados. Now knock Michael into the water using Shadow Ball, and give him a taste of his trainer's medicine with Thunderbolt.

The tricky ghost he is, Spork tries to take advantage of Michael's mid-air nap and sends a Shadow Ball meant to send Michael into the lake, but Michael wakes up just in time to Protect himself. Once again upset that Michael has interfered with his moves, Spork angrily shot a super-effective Thunderbolt at Michael! Now that Michael has actually been hit directly, he decides that instead of using some sort of trickery, he takes advantage of the rain and fires a Water Pulse at Spork! Let's see how the pokemon are doing.

Things are starting to not look very good for Spork. He is getting low on health and energy, and Michael has the advantage of rain. However, Nightmare Jiggly still has another pokemon! Who knows what will happen?

Nightmare Jiggly, give your actions!

Unluckiest battle i've been in so far...

Whatever, we can still do this! Chill to regain a bit of energy, then Disable Michael's Protect! Now we can hit him with a good Thunderbolt!
