Charmander, you might wish to choose the arena. In any case, good luck to the both of you!

Go FlyerFries (Larvesta) and Mantis (Scyther)! Also, LupisAter, have two Larvesta, Flare and FlyerFries, so please don't get them mixed up! The one I am using is Modest and Female if that helps.

Arena: Standard battlefield. It is extremely sunny, so the heat might cut the energy of slower Pokemon. Sunny Day is always in effect, and all other weather attacks will have energy cost raised by two and only last 2 rounds, then sun will return. I don't know if I can do that but it's worth a shot!

Ugh, if I had known that this was the arena I probably wouldn't have accepted your challenge. Whatever.

Go, Tsuki (Nohface) and Yaku (Grimer)!

Tsuki, Fake Out the Scyther to start. Follow it up with two Rock Slides on both Pokemon (I'm assuming that the two opponents start relatively close to each other).

Yaku, let's use the weather against them. Shoot your strongest Fire Blast at Scyther while it gets flinched. Then, spray an Acid Bomb / Spray all over both opponents if possible. If not, just aim it at Scyther. Follow things up with a Thunderbolt.

Scyther, you're obviously going to flinch the first turn, but if you somehow don't, use Wing Attack on Grimer. We have a really bad matchup against these guys, but we're going to have to make good use of it. Try using Swords Dance next, and follow up with another Wing Attack on Grimer. Larvesta, we're in for some big damage. Immediately use Will-O-Wisp on Nohface. If it misses, do it again. If it doesn't miss, use Fire Blast. If Will-O-Wisp misses again for some reason, use it again! If not, just use Fire Blast again on Nohface.

It is sure hot here, but the spirit of the two trainers meeting to battle burns even hotter!
Out come the pokèmon, Mantis the Scyther and FlyerFries the Larvesta for Charmander and, for Engineer Pikachu, Tsuki the Nohface and Yaku the Grimer!

Tsuki wastes no time, and promptly hits the bewildered Mantis with a swift Fake Out! The Scyther is too shocked to react, but his partner sends a trail of ghostly flames at the offending ghost, burning her! Yaku answers with his own kanji of flames, made even deadlier by the scorching sun!

Mantis, having regained his composure, sharpens his blades in a deadly Sword Dance, while FlyerFries takes a page out of Yaku's book and sends a sun-boosted Fire Blast directly at the pesky Nohface. The aforementioned Grimer showers the Scyther with an Acid Bomb, while his partner pelts the opposing team with a powerful Rock Slide!

A quite battered Mantis decides to start hitting stuff, and hits Yaku with a Wing Attack! Meanwhile FlyerFries continues his fiery assault on Tsuki, and Yaku calls a Thunderbolt down from the sky to hit Mantis! Tsuki ends this round by showering her opponents with another Rock Slide.

This is really tough....Scyther, fly into the air and use Roost. Nohface's Rock Slide is really devastating at this point, so it's your job to mollify its blow as much as possible. After healing a bit, let's try to hit Grimer with a powered up Wing Attack! If any Electric attacks are used against you here, however, replace the action with Steel Wing to act as a lightning rod and absorb the attack, then hit whoever with the Steel Wing. Then, finish off with a Roost. It's too bad you can't use Counter on Nohface, that's our usual strategy against Rock-type moves. Larvesta, we need that Nohface out of the way. Melt it with your strongest Fire Blast. If it is hit by the Fire Blast but somehow survives, use Ember! If Nohface dodges the Fire Blast, try another one. If Fire Blast knocks it out, heal up with Morning Sun. End by scorching Grimer with Fire Blast, but if you used Fire Blast last action, use Morning Sun now. Wow, confusing.

Mantis: Roost ~ Wing Attack (Grimer) ~ Roost
FlyerFries: Fire Blast (Nohface) ~ Fire Blast if it misses last action, Ember if Fire Blast hit but Nohface is still alive, or Morning Sun if Nohface isn't alive (Nohface) ~ Fire Blast if you didn't use Fire Blast last action, Morning Sun if you did (Grimer)

eh. I'll try and make sense out of your commands, Charmander.

Nohface, if you don't execute these orders exactly as I say, you'll die. No worries. Try and stay alive for as long as you can, since any Fire Blast will kill you now. Since you're not too close, start by digging beneath the arena. Come up after the Fire Blast misses and hit the grounded FlyerFries. Then, turn around and use Fake Out on Larvesta to stall for another turn. Now since FlyerFries should be using Morning Sun, take the opportunity to bury the Larvesta in more rocks (Mantis should be dead by then)

Grimer, you have a big job to do. With the Sun up, you should be outdamaging its Roosts. Shoot two of your most powerful Fire Blasts at Mantis in a row, then proceed to Disable FlyerFries' Fire Blast.

Tsuki: Evasive Dig (Fries) ~ Fake Out (Fries) ~ Rock Slide (All alive opponents)
Yaku: Fire Blast (Mantis) ~ Fire Blast (Mantis) ~ Disable (Fries' Fire Blast)

The battle goes on under the sun!
Mantis has apparently decided that he's too hurt, since he Roosts on the highest spot he can find. His partner shoots a scorching Fire Blast at a burrowing Tsuki, and it's a critical hit that knocks out the poor ghost, leaving poor Yaku alone! He doesn't falter, though, and shoots a Fire Blast of his own at Mantis!
Mantis retaliates with a powerful Wing Attack, but is met by yet another Fire Blast, and gets knocked out! In the meanwhile Larvesta recovers health by basking in the sun.
Flyerfries ends with another Fire Blast, promptly disabled by the Grimer.

Go, Chillarmy! so kawaii

Dwebble is going to be pretty annoying, so let's incapacitate it first. Sing at Dwebble until it hits. Once it hits, turn your attention to FlyerFries, Tickle it, and then Aqua Tail. Clarification in the summary of actions.

Yaku, you may be at low HP, but you've still got some fight left in you, right? Scorch Larvesta with a Fire Blast, follow it up with a Mud Bomb, and finish it with another Fire Blast. If Dwebble uses any attack you deem as powerful on turn one, replace your Mud Bomb action with Disable.

Summary of Actions:
Kumi: Sing (Dwebble) - Sing / Tickle (Dwebble / Fries) - Aqua Tail (Fries)
Yaku: Fire Blast (Fries) - Mud Bomb / Disable (Fries / Dwebble) - Fire Blast (Fries)

Larvesta, we need that Chillarmy crippled as soon as possible. Let's burn it as much as possible. With both that burn and the sun up, we should be able to take any Aqua Tail it has. Follow up by hitting Grimer with your strongest Zen Headbutt. Now, this is the turn we will take to just relax. If Chillarmy somehow managed to not burned, use Will-O-Wisp on it. If everything went as planned, take a chill instead. Dwebble, start by using Swords Dance. Follow up with an Earthquake on Grimer! End by hitting Chillarmy with a yummy Stone Edge!

Larvesta: WoW (Chilly) ~ Zen Headbutt (Grimy) ~ Chill or WoW if the previous one missed (Chillarmy)
Dwebble: Swords Dance ~ EQ (Grimer) ~ Stone Edge (Chillarmy)

New pokemon are sent out to replace the fallen ones, and the battle goes on!

The newly sent Chillarmy, Ilyana, takes the stage as she Sings a sweet lullaby to Dwebble, knocking it into an Intense (3 turns) sleep! FlyerFries retaliates with a status move of her own, a Will-O-Wisp that burns her, lowering her attack. Yaku opens the hostilities ith a Fire Blast which scorches FlyerFries.
A singed Ilyana takes her revenge on FlyerFries by Tickling her! That doesn't sound so revengeful, but it still lowered the Larvesta's Attack and Defense, softening the blow of her Zen Headbutt on Yaku. The aforementioned pile of toxic goo spits out a Mud Bomb at the fiery larva, who is then on the recieving end of an Aqua Tail by Ilyana and yet another Fire Blast, but she takes it in stride and Chills. Dwebble then finally manages to wake up, good as new.

Larvesta, use the power of the sun to heal yourself greatly with Morning Sun! Then, use Fire Blast twice on Grimer. If it is dead, hit Minicco instead.

Dwebble, we don't want to risk taking too much damage at this point. Take the safe route of hitting Grimer (everyone else) with a hard Earthquake. Then, use Swords Dance, and follow up with a Stone Edge on Minicco. Kill that thing!

OK, since you haven't replied to my final PM, I'll just list two scenarios.

If you will follow 0 Energy --> Faint:
Ilyana, wait until Larvesta finishes healing, then use Encore. At the end of three, it will have run out of energy and DIE. Follow this up with a Fake Tears on Dwebble, then a Thunderbolt. (If Ilyana has to go after Larvesta [:(], start with a Thunderbolt on Dwebble, Encore Larvesta, then another Fake Tears on Dwebble)

Yaku, start the round off with an Acid Spray on Dwebble. Then, use Sludge on Larvesta for you to claim the KO Counter, then end the round with your strongest Fire Blast on Dwebble.

If you follow 0 Energy --> Struggle:

Our round is a lot tougher now.

Ilyana, start the round off with an Encore on Larvesta without waiting; this will force it to chill again :D Then, use Fake Tears on Dwebble, followed by a huge Thunderbolt on the little critter.

Yaku, fire off Fire Blasts at Larvesta until it dies. Once it dies, shoot an Acid Spray at Dwebble.

EDIT: Thanks Charmander.

Sorry Lupus, but I'm going to DQ you. Engineer has to leave without internet in a few days, and we can't afford people to go double our agreed DQ time. I'll start looking for a subref.

Ilyana starts off by... clapping? Yes, it appears as if she's giving FlyerFries an Encore! And while it does look adorable, it's actually doing something, too! The Larvesta has decided to Chill again, just for Ilyana! Maybe she feels bad about giving her that burn earlier which continus to hurt her, or maybe she just isn't that bright. Either way, Dwebble decides to go on the offensive while his partner rests by letting loose a mighty earthquake, shaking the ground. Yaku is also shaking, but not just because of the earthquake, but because of fear. He tries to hang on, but the devestating blow is too much for him and he faints before even getting the chance to make a move(complete with dizzy eyes and his tongue sticking out of his mouth). However, the quake also hits Ilyana for some decent damage. But an attack like that dosn't go without consequences, as it also hits his teammate, who's struggling to stay concious.

Next off Ilyana begins to cry at Dwebble. Yes, you heard me, cry(in case if applauding FlyerFries wasn't manly enough for you). Dwebble does feel kind of bad for attacking her with an earthquake though, and his guard goes down, along with his special defense. FlyerFries continues to rest and chill. He's been chilling so much you might say that he's an icicle!

(crickets)

...Anyway, Dwebble begins to do some sort of dance, spinning around with his claws like swords. This really gets his blood pumping, even if it does make him look like a ballerina. The sun beating down on him dosn't help him either, and he's got to work even harder to remember those dance routines.

Ilyana makes an offensive move for once by unleashing a thunderbolt straight at Dwebble. Dwebble is hit hard, mainly because he wasn't expecting it(how many thunder shooting chinchillas do you know?). FlyerFries has finished chilling and launches a Fire Blast at Ilyana, which gets a boost from the suns rays that are still beating down on the Pokemon. Dwebble finishes his dance and launches a Stone Edge attack at Ilyana. However, Dwebble must still feel bad for the Miniccio because his attack just misses! Thinga are lookin bad dor Ilyana, with only 36 HP left and with a burn, but she could still make a comeback! Stay tuned to find out!

Forgive me if I'm incorrect, but how exactly did Grimer die to one Earthquake?

Dwebble has 4 Attack, and Grimer has 2 Defense. Earthquake has 10 BP. Factoring in SE and the AoE attack nerf, the attack should've dealt ((10 + 1.5 (4 - 2)) * 1.5) * 3/4 = 14.625 -> 15 damage. That's a pretty far cry from the 26 damage it apparently dealt...

EDIT: I see where you may have made a mistake. Did you forget about the AoE attack nerf and assume that the SE bonus was 2x and not 1.5x?

EDIT2: We're just going to call it a draw. It counts as a tie for both of us. Larvesta, Dwebble, Scyther, Grimer, Minccino, and Nohface get 1 EC, 1 DC, 1 MC. Larvesta and Grimer gain 1 KO.

This isn't meant to offend anyone, but we've had a lot of complication with our refs and such, so since the battle is pretty much tied at this point, I have agreed with Engineer that this will end right now a draw. Thanks for everyone that did something!
If I'm correct, these are the rewards(?)

Grimer, Minicco, Scyther, Larvesta, Dwebble, and Nohface get 1 EC, DC, and MC.

both trainers get 2 TC

the new ref gets 1 RC even though he didn't do anything

Larvesta gets 1 KOC, so does Grimy
