I was searching for a battle on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I know I should have been outside, but I had this itch to battle. I found one against someone I had never battled before, so neither of us knew of each others teams/strategies/etc. It turned out to be a very closely contested match, and had me, and I assume my opponent as well, guessing as to who would come out victorious. I didn’t ask his permission to write this however, so I will simply refer to him as “Anony.” Also, this was a Wi-Fi battle, so yes, I did have to write all this out (so you all better enjoy it!). And therefore, my Pokemon’s HP will be in the correct percentages thanks to a calculator, but my opponent’s will be in approximates, based on what I saw from the health bar.

A critical hit!
Uxie lost 22% of its health

Because my team utilizes Rain Dance, my lead has considerable setting up to do. The best way to counter setting up is obviously taunting. I have developed a plan for most of the taunters in the OU metagame, however, and Weavile is no different. I attempted to damage it by using U-turn because, although I expected Fake Out, I know Weavile will be carrying a sash, which might hurt my chances of getting this annoying taunter out of my way.

The first KO of the match; it must mean something that I got it, right? Well we’ll see. Anyway, this turn I used Aqua Jet again because of the aforementioned speed issues; I knew it would take him out before he could hurt me, so it was a choice that certainly paid off.

Blissey 71%
My jaw dropped as soon as I saw that pink ball of fat. Forget “gg” now, it’s time to concentrate on KOing this thing. I know Ludicolo can’t do anything to this special monster, as I have Rain Dance over Focus Punch, but I decide to leave it in for now, because I notice that Blissey isn’t holding leftovers.

vs.
Ludicolo used Surf
Blissey lost 23% of its health
Blissey used Toxic
Ludicolo was badly poisoned
The rain stopped…
Ludicolo 94% (badly poisoned)
Blissey 48%
Now I’ve got a situation on my hands. Ludicolo was put on a timer, and without rain I was very sure this Blissey would win, even though it lacked leftovers. I’m starting to get worried, but I keep my otherwise trusty Ludicolo in the match for the time being, and try to weaken Blissey.

And the sheer special defensive power of Blissey prevails, and I am forced to switch to Bronzong. I realized halfway through the turn that Ludicolo should still be alive after I explode with Zong, just in case Blissey survives, and so that the game won’t end in a tie if she is KOed. So I switch, expecting Blissey to attack, because Anony should know that my Ludicolo can’t harm him.

vs.
Blackhawk11 sent out Bronzong
Blissey used Softboiled
Blissey restored 14% of its health
Bronzong 100%
Blissey 100%
Luckily, Anony decided to restore some HP, maybe expecting a Surf. Bronzong only has one weakness; fire. And Blissey usually carry a spare attacking move, most often Flamethrower, Ice Beam, or Shadow Ball. I was hoping like crazy that this Blissey didn’t have Flamethrower, because that could potentially bring my chances of winning to a grinding halt. I go for a Rain Dance because Zong will get it up for eight turns, which could benefit Ludicolo if it needs to face the pink glob in a stall war.
--
vs.
Blissey used Seismic Toss
Bronzong lost 31% of its health
Bronzong used Rain Dance
It started to rain!
Bronzong 69%
Blissey 100%
Yes! Now I can be pretty sure that Blissey does not carry Flamethrower, because Anony feels that Seismic Toss is the best option, and now that the rain is up, I really don’t need to fear Flamethrower anyway. Zong has 335 total HP, so it can still survive two more tosses. That gives me enough time to attack with Earthquake to damage it, then go for the kill with Explosion if I feel that another Earthquake won’t get the job done.

The Good:
-The beast that is Kabutops, for taking out three of Anony’s Pokemon
-Bronzong, for going out with a well timed critical hit that probably won me the game.
-Anony, for one of the best battles I’ve had. Good game.
The Bad:
-ThunderPunch’s chance of paralysis.
-Paralysis’s unfortunate side-effect of occasionally not being able to attack.
-My terrible choice of using Aqua Jet against Weavile. Of course, had I not done that, this game may have been a lot less interesting.
The Ugly:
-Writing all this out. If I ever make another warstory, it's gonna be a Shoddy battle for sure.
-If you saw this thing before I edited it, that was ugly. If you didn't see it; don't worry about it.
Here is Anony’s team, in order of appearance:

Zong won’t be beating Blissey with EQ anytime soon. So I gather my courage and hope for the best.
