A basic team
Armadillophant (Donphan) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
This pokemon is here primarily to set up hazards. His physical defensive capabilitys are not bad though. Ice shard is here because it can hit the flying types that earthquake cannot and does so super effectively. Earthquake of course is basic STAB damage. Rapid spin is here to remove hazards. This poke has been having trouble in weather but that is primarily my fault as i overestimate this poke constantly.
Furbie (Cinccino) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Tail Slap
- Bullet Seed
- Rock Blast
- U-turn
This pokemon is one of my favorites. The varied coverage and STAB makes this pokemon a great revenge killer and with a scarf Cinccino can out speed a scarfed Salamence (too most peoples surprise) and kill in 1 turn. In fact Mence and Dragonite are the main reasons I use this pokemon as it can break multiscale and still do significant damage. This pokemon is relatively frai, though hence the scarf, allowing it to get off its attacks before being attacked.
Purdy (Gorebyss) @ White Herb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Shell Smash
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Baton Pass
This is a very basic Shell smash set that has alot of potential. It is an amazing rain counter as swift swim+STAB surf+rain boost+2x SpAtt after one shell smash means this is quite the counter. It has been suggested that I carry hidden-power grass to deal with opposing water types but I feel baton pass is more important and Icebeam is irreplaceable.
Crest (Latios) (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Fire]
The reason I metioned I liked Baton pass on the last pokemon is this guy. In fact, I hardly ever use Latios without a shell smash. It makes it so that Latios can use 2 draco meteors before going negative which is invaluable in sweeps as draco meteor is often needed in take out particularly bulky special walls. Psyshock is there for a classic dual stab set while surf exists, as we all know, in case of heatran. Hidden power fire is around for the sole purpose of taking care of enemy ferrothorns. Seeing as this pokemon is almost exclusively used after a rain abuser hidden power fire may be a bit stupid but it wil e at its averge base power with the shell smash boost.
Toker (Gengar) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Trick
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
These last two pokemon act as a set similarly to how Latios and Gorebyss act as a team. Gengar is immune to fighting, though is weak to psychic ghost and dark all of which are resisted by Umbreon. My fvorite part about this poke however is the fact that you can trick black sludge to enemys, usually for leftovers if you play it right which makes it increasingly easy for umbreon to stall him out. Shadow ball is a STAB move for dealing with ghosts and psychics, psychic is for fighting types just so that gengar has a means of finishing them off. and finally hidden power fighting is here to deal with any steels who resit both of the previously mentioned attacks.
Lord of the Rings (Umbreon) @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Protect
- Payback
- Heal Bell
- Wish
As mentioned previously Umbreon works with Gengar to take out opponents. Gengar being the offence and Umbeon being the defence. Having defensive it might be beneficial to make him specially bulky as opposed to physically but I feel its better this way just in case something goes wrong as it will be able to survive a fighting attack (which are generally physical.) especially since it's natural special bulk is enough to stave off most attacks. I use this most often to stall out other walls but also to pass wishes to other team mates.
Threats I've noticed:
This team is surprisingly weak to grass as the only pokemon who can hit grass super effectively are Gorebyss, Donphan, and Latios two of which are weak to grass.
Scizor, This guy hits most of the team hard but can still be taken down if you really try at it.
There is not really anything else specific I'v noticed. Any suggestions are appreciated (even on nicknames.) Thanks for reading.
P.S. This RMT was slightly rushed, e gentle about the lack luster.
