Here is my first go at a competitve team. It is crucial to note that I do not have access to Gen 4 movesets, thus certain Pokemon cannot reach their upmost potential. After putting what I believe to be some well-practiced thought into the team, I feel like a I put solid effort in my first go-around.
I have experimented with all sorts of teams, Sandstorm, Hail, Trick Room etc. Trick Room saw some success utilizing Bronzong and Eviolite Dusclops and perhaps my favorite pokemon Slowbro. It was used to counter the heavy assault of speed teams hich the metagame appears to be centered around. I even tried using a Cloud Nine RestTalk Lickilicky for a period of time to counter weather teams, but I'd have to form a better core for him to find success.
I decided then to build a core of attackers that worked well together, as well as a trio of defensive pokes that synergize well. One of them, Snorlax, is capable of walling hits as well as hitting hard. This is important because now I can make a defensive situation more offensive. Thus, I maintain and or create offensive momentum, which is important to the team. However, it is also versatile enough to slow the pace of the battle and weather a team down.

Current Team:
Starmie @ Life Orb
Natural Cure
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Sp
Timid
Rapid Spin
Surf
Psyshock
Thunderbolt / Ice Beam?
Starmie turned into my "lead" quickly being able to counter a wide array of threats in the metagame. Rapid Spin is here for hazard support that could potentially plague the team. The new move Psyshock is neat for attacking those special walls who think they can halt Starmie in its tracks.
Scizor @ Leftovers
Technician
230 HP / 96 Atk / 180 Def
Adamant
Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
Brick Break
X-Scissor
Here is where not having Gen 4 moves hurts. A bulky Scizor does well for this team, however, note that I have Evs invested in Defense as I find him switching in on physical threats more often than not. However, if it is best put them in special bulk, I'd like a reasoning why. Able to both revenge kill wtih Bullet Punch and also boost and hit a variety of threats, Scizor is an admirable asset to the team.
Infernape @ Life orb
Blaze
4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Sp
Naive
Close Combat
Nasty Plot
Grass Knot
Flamethrower
Yes, a MixNape set packing Grass Knot. A bit odd in the new generation, but it fits the team well. This MixNape set is valuable in KOing boosting Scrafty as well as eliminating Grass threats that threaten my defensive core. This set also damages a large number of opposing defensive cores as well.
Snorlax @ Choice Band
Thick Fat
40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 SpD
Adamant
Pursuit
Body Slam
Earthquake
Brick Break?
Snorlax is both a beast in appearance and ability and I believe underrated this generation. His ability and EVs allow it sponge special hits like the monster he is and then crush them with the attack of choice. He also acts as a great pursuit trapper, threatening Starmie, Latios, and Gengar. However, often I find myself debating hitting the incoming switch, or punishing the escaping special attacker.
Jellicent @ Leftovers
Cursed Body
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm
Will-O-Wisp
Protect
Surf
Recover
One of my favorite Gen 5 pokemon, and notably the only member of that generation on the team. He is a great compliment to Snorlax as he can the big guy often lures fighting attacks and Jellicent flaunts his immunity and can WoW the switch. Snorlax also can switch in on the Ghost attacks targeting Jellicent and then Pursuit Trap or choose the necessary move for the KO. His resistance to Ice and Fire create a tandem of special walls on the team between she and Snorlax which heavily benefits Scizor and the final defensive member of the team, Gliscor.
Gliscor @ Leftovers
Sand Veil
252 HP / 180 Def / 76 Sp
Impish
Substitute
Earthquake
Toxic
Protect
Okay, no DW poison heal, I know. I'll get there eventually, I almost have enough points. Besides the point, Gliscor fills out the team well. He can come in on his ground or electric immunity, sub up, and then toxic the switch. He can then protect or Earthquake to add damage to the foe. He is a valuable asset in his ability to stall, yet damage with an excellent STAB- Earthquake. His Ice Weakness is countered by the remainder of the team as are his other weaknesses. He is necessary to stop the heavy hitters on the physical side this generation. I tried a variety of sets prior to this set, and this one appears to be doing me wel thus far.
So that's the team. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I see that I may have a taunt weakness and am not entirely sure if I covered it. Also wondering if entry hazard support would be helpful. Glaring weaknesses too!
