A Warstory - Raikou Strikes Back! (Jango vs. GE)

A warstory by me. I wouldn't have posted it if not for the great Raikou comeback near the end.

Props:
  • GE for taking out all of my team except for Raikou the star of the show!
  • Raikou for sweeping 5 members of the team.
Slops:
  • Leaving in Hitmontop on Jirachi. ~What a mistake!
  • 2 flinches in a row on Forretress, 1 being a flinch and a crit.
  • Me letting halve a team fail to him.
Have a nice day. :)

That was cool. I miss Raikou from Advance. =\

Try bolding your log or commentary to make it easier to read.

Firstly i hope you got this war story approved, Since its quite a nice one and after going through the rules it appears it may be deleted if you didn't :(.
Secondly, it really needs some cleaning.
The Pokemon Smogon Needs's leftovers restored its health a little!
The Pokemon Smogon Needs restored 6% of its health.

Should have gotten rid of those lines at least.
Thirdly, I love to see someone else also using raikou, Yes he took quite a bit of a hit form last gen but hes still a great pokemon! Though i gotta say... Your opponent doesn't look like hes too bright.

"The Pokemon Smogon Needs" is a really annoying nickname that would help readability if it was removed. It would also be helpful if you did what darkie said. Do those and make note of how much HP each Poke relevant to the situation has (or at least note when one dies in bold).

At the part where your Raikou TBolted your opponent's Linoone, why wouldn't he have used Extremespeed twice? It's obvious that the TBolt is going to knock you below 50%, making BD a stupid move to use at that time.

I agree, removing the nicks would go a great way to making this readable.

This was an extremely poorly played match on both sides. All I saw was both players switch something in, fight until it is killed and then switch the next pokemon in.

The raikou sweep was nothing amazing either as your opponent clearly made stupid mistakes trying to nasty plot and belly drum up on it. Had he attacked on all those turns raikou would be dead. There was no advantage to stating up as raikou was your last pokemon.

The only part I actually enjoyed was when special metagross killed swampert. It went downhill from there.

GE switched in Yanmega (lvl 100 Yanmega ?).
The Pokemon Smogon Needs used Substitute.
The Pokemon Smogon Needs lost 25% of its health.
The Pokemon Smogon Needs made a substitute!
Yanmega used Hypnosis.
Yanmega's attack missed!
The Pokemon Smogon Needs's leftovers restored its health a little!
The Pokemon Smogon Needs restored 6% of its health.
Yanmega's Speed Boost raised its speed!
---

Uber prediction skills!
Use substitute to counter the obvious hypnosis!
Or...you could have just attacked and killed the 8% yanmega right there...no prediction needed. The correct prediction would be predicting that yanmega would break the sub next turn making you lose health from the sub for nothing.

This was an awful warstory. I don't understand how some people thought it was anywhere near good. Your opponent is an idiot. You also didn't play so well yourself. I doubt you got this warstory approved.

You keep Hitmontop in on Jirachi and then you bring in Breloom. You also wasted turns Gyro Balling Jirachi when you could have been setting up rocks/spikes or doing something more useful.
You also kept Claydol in on Starmie as well but I guess you don't really have anything to switch into Starmie.

Your opponent tried to Nasty Plot and Belly drum against Raikou when it's obviously faster than his pokemon.

Special orientated Metagross is awesome although I use Scarfed/Agility MixGross. The only problem is that you sacrifice quite a lot of Sp.Def with a Naive Nature.

Pretty terrible.
Raikou may well have just been a Jolteon, an Azelf, a Gengar, an Alakazam or anything really.
You both just mashed each other's pokemon together and marveled at the mess that came out.

I don't know why everyone is being so hard on the story. Nice to see a story with raikou though i miss him.

Raikou was the Pokemon that sparked Blissey's huge popularity in Advance, and in this warstory, it shows that with unexpected team support (MixGross), teams without Blissey and full of not-so-fast fragile Pokemon will still die.

Pros:
-Raikou (One of my favorite pokemon)
-Special Metagross

Cons:
-Not an exciting war story
-Breloom (personal thing)

props:special metagross
slops:everything else

like others stated, all you did was let pokemon get killed and switch the next poke in. prediction was nonexistant, and this was not any showing of raikou's true power. like pneuma said, raikou may as well have been any other fast special sweeper with t bolt

Sorry jango but it realy wasn't that good of a warstory, no drama, no Bolded text, no close match...

also, you copied my hitmontop nickname =/

Hey, nice attempt, but a 6-2 warstory doesn't seem very good to me, no offence, just IMO. 6.5/10 (a whole point just for Raikou)

Pros:
The teams being more exciting than the actual warstory
It actually was finite

Cons:
tl;dr factor x8563897356896357563
People bitching about nicknames, get over it >_>
Droning, boring dialogue, no attempt at entertainment whatsoever
The first instance of the word "approved" was in PakGamer's post

Sorry, but I've got to be honest. =(

That was a poorly played match, even if my Raikou saved your butt. =p

Special Gross is indeed the sex though.

it was shoddy, your raikou didnt save him.

i agree, kind of boring.... the sub with raikou against yanmega was pointless, you could have just finished him that turn...he had no speed boosts at that point, you would have outsped it. also a jolteon or gengar or starmie with t bolt could have done the same thing raikou did, its nothing special in this warstory.
