So, first original AAA team! I dunno how viable this is, I originally built around Mericless Hex Gengar, but Adaptability is apparently better.

Volcarona @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Fire Blast
- Giga Drain
The last mon I added to the team, my sweeper. I didn't really know what other sweeper to use, I originally used Tinted Lens, bur someone suggested Magic Guard LO. The spread is pretty standard for sweeper Volcarona, not sure if I need to change it up. My other big problem was whether I should run Psychic, if so, what would I replace? Fire Grass gives good coverage, hitting pretty much everything except other Fire types and Dragon types.
Zarude @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Bulk Up
- Darkest Lariat
- Power Whip
Not sure about this guy, wanted a grass type for FWG trio, works as a bulky breaker, often I can bring it in to take a hit and force switches, and after 1 or 2 Bulk Ups, it can break some pretty bulky mons. Darkest Lariat is helpful for, IDK, defense boosting mons? Strongest Dark STAB I guess, Power Whip is generally what I clicked, unless it was against a resist or something with Defense boosts. Dies to U-Turns and really any bug move, not sure if I should keep it. I was thinking maybe a similar set on Zera?
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Knock Off
General tank, sets T-Spikes, burns things for Gengar, and removes hazards and items. Pretty neat utility set, if only it was more bulky... Anyways, I find myself leading with this generally, mostly just to start statusing things. Not sure if I should change it to Bold Nature or change up the spread, I chose this mostly for role compression, as I was looking for T-Spikes, and hazard removal is nice. I could change to Pex, and run Defog on Corv, but that would force a more defensive set.
Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Wave
- Hex
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
The member that the team was built around. Specifically HexSpex, but I changed it to Scarf for more speed. Originally Merciless, but Adaptability gives more power consistently at the cost of not ignoring stat changes. Dazzling Gleam is for more consistent coverage than FocusMiss Blast, this ended up being a sweeper/cleaner, after everything is worn down by status or, if I need to, one of the other moves. Sludge Wave cuz I don't really care about the extra status chance from Sludge Bomb, and Shadow Ball is for more consistent Ghost STAB.
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Stamina
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Taunt
This Corviknight is the physical counterpart to Chansey. So much fun vs Beat Up King's Rock Weavile. Multi-hit moves aside, this is a neat one, as it's not just a Defogger/Wall, it's a tank. Body Press/Brave Bird makes for good coverage, and I originally had Defog as a 4th slot, but it allowed things to set up on me. I changed it to Taunt, helps block things from setting up, giving me a guaranteed +1Def. This set was inspired by BU Doubles Corv, as generally Corv is a bit too passive for me.
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Heal Bell
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
This Chansey is the special counterpart to my Corviknight, and I ran Stealth Rock over something like Teleport or Seismic Toss. Toxic is for damage, used over Seismic Toss for more damage and to support Gengar. Heal Bell has been useful like 1/10 battles for burns or paralysis, Soft-Boiled is pretty much mandatory on any Chansey. Bit of role compression, as a rocker/special wall. Sadly, it's very passive and Taunt-bait. Oh, and Unaware was to counter things like Clangorous Soul Latios, Volcarona, and other set-up sweepers.
I'm pretty happy with this team, Corv has been really great despite what people keep telling me, just not sure about Tentacruel and Zarude, Zarude is deadly once it gets set up, but more often than not, it get wrecked by U-Turn Spam and Volc's Bug Buzz. Tentacruel pulls its weight, but isn't super bulky.
