About that Cloverfield monster.....

I JUST SAW THE COMMERCIAL for that movie like last week, and I'm eager to know WHAT THE MONSTER LOOKS LIKE. Is anyone else here totally annoyed by the fact that they haven't shown the monster yet. Or what the monster even looks like? ....Man I think it's some mutant whale or something, but that's just my speculation.

What do you people think the monster looks like, I've heard some people say it's a spin off of Godzilla...or is Godzilla, others say it's a rendition of Cthulu a H.P Lovecraft creature. I personally believed that it was Cthulu for awhile before I visited some viral set that were connected with the movie which in my own study of those sites would generally make me believe that Cthulu..is highly impossible. Plus statement of how the movie monster wasn't Cthulu said by the Director. ....some even said it was some kind of Voltron thing.....really now

I haven't seen a good monster destroying city movie that came out in NA for awhile, except for Peter Jackson's King Kong. The one before that was that Godzilla movie that came out back in 1999-2000 I don't remember...I was young. I think this type of movie genre needs to be rejuvinated in NA, Japan has Godzilla, what does NA have? King Kong...
 
I am also annoyed by that. It doesn't look like something I would want to see, so I will probably lust look it up on wikipedia.
 
ahhh wikipedia....that's exactly what I was thinking of doing too. Though I'd still like to watch the movie.
 
Venom posted a Thread about Cloverfield in Firebot and someone posted a link to some fan art on the monster. I thought it looked pretty cool even though it's just fan art. If you're intrested you should go check it out.
 
Ya I saw some fan art via google today, one of my classmates showed it to me. Kinda wierd though that someone would spend that much time and speculated effort on a monster that will eventually be revealed.

Yeah, it's a monster alright. Def. not what I was expecting. I hope it's not very Godzilla-like in physical appearance and similarity.

From what I can tell, from all the concept sketches that have leaked:

Mountain X Whale with a hint of Godzilla. Neat? Doesn't really....ummm...describe too much. But when you see it you'll think Holy fuck, I understand now.:naughty:
 
as far as concerned is, and from what I've heard from cloverfieldclues.com is that the picture you provided was only a fan art picture made as an assumption, it was not leaked, it was actually made for a contest ¬ .¬ no spoiler there really because that's not what the monster looks like.
 
I will put my money that the audience will never see the whole monster, its filmed from the perspective of a group of people and think about it a group of normal people might not go hunting to see what the monster looks like.
