Accelgor is a PU Bug type which specializes in Special Attack and Speed. Accelgor is a solid Fast Special Sweeper and is a great glass cannon and has decent stats in Special Attack and Speed and has good HP. Accelgor has 2 abilities: Hydration, which causes its status to be cured at the end of each turn when Rain Dance is on. It also has Sticky Hold, which makes it unable to use its item because of an enemy's attack. Accelgor's LC form is Shelmet.

Accelgor serves the role of a Fast Special Sweeper rather than Escavalier's Physical Sweeper. Water Shuriken and Focus Blast serve as coverage moves with their Water and Fighting types respectively, Water Shuriken, which cover Fire types, which are a threat to both Accelgor and any Grass types on your team, can also destroy Ground types and Rock types; Focus Blast can take down Normal, Ice, Rock, Dark and Steel types; Bug Buzz is there to defeat Grass type, Psychic types and Dark types. In the rest of your team, you want a Fire move, Rock move, Dark move and Flying move. The rest of the team can take care of anything Accelgor is ineffectve against. The 4 HP is only there for a little bit more bulk, the SpA and Spe is to boost these stats and make sure you can go first and OHKO anything that you are super effective against and 2HKO anything you are normal effective against; on a team, you'll need something that's Fire type to deal with the occasional Shedinja; something for Water types, poison types and fairy types; something for dragons and flying and something for ghosts and electric types; Accelgor can be used to patch up the holes that these don't cover. Accelgor is vulnerable to fire type coverage and several other coverage pokemon, since Bug is very easy to defeat with loads of ways to beat them. Make sure you have a nice mix of Fast, bulky, special, physical and special.
