Update as of 04/11: still no response on the forums, my opp's latest activity was the day before I contacted them and I have gotten no word since.

Update as of 04/13: my opp has responded and is dropping out now. I haven't gotten confirmation, but I guess I win then by opponent inactivity - I let my opp know that I would just take the victory on this by default.
