Why does this matter if he got the elo in 2024? Why be a hard ass about such a rule when it realistically exist to stop people from claiming for new season the first few weeks of new season.

All ladder accounts from December 2023 and before are decayed or upkept by good play by now, all elo gained is gained in 2024.

I'm just enforcing a rule the has been in place ever since johnny announced season two and that is written several times in the OP with a reminder there will be no exception. My understanding of that rule is that it's meant to have two purposes: encouraging people to create new ladder accounts to keep the ladder active, and so that everyone is equal in the way they can try to reach the new reqs from fresh accounts. If not for this, I don't really see the point of having different seasons for ladder achievements

The reason we had new seasons was because jimflation made a bunch of people become elo rich which invalidated the old elo scores needed for certain achievements. Nowadays "old accounts" are on the same playing field as new accounts.

Ladder is kept active by people who are good playing, not by the join dates. Anyone good enough for top 1 has no reason to replay 1000-1500 because they will obviously go 18-2 at worst.

This seems like a misunderstanding of the system or throwing around smogon moderator weight. :/

I think you're misinterpreting the post you originally quoted from me. The reason I posted was because I kept seeing people posting reqs using accounts that don't follow that one rule, although it didn't seem to be a problem before, so I thought it was just fair to let them know. I don't see what smogon moderation has to do with anything here, I just don't make exceptions because that's how johnny wrote the rule. We can definitely alleviate the rule or even remove it completely if people think it's undermining the project as a whole

Side note: considering I've been dead wrt this project for a long while, if anyone would like to take it on for next season, they're free to reach out to let me know
 
Not sure what we post here for exactly but I hit a new peak at 23rd. Have been enjoying climbing and then dropping periodically. Not sure if replays are important for achievements but can share those as well.

with the account rule, this is more of an Alt Achievements than a Ladder Achievements.
i think for the metrics challenges, an account made before the season can post a screenshot of their account below bronze during the season & then they should be able to earn achievements after that

Just for clarification, this year I reached 1800s on ladder (with screenshot) but I used an account I've had since 2022 so I can't claim the "Knowledge Achievement" right?

Want to give a big thank you to Hiro' for his work on it.

I shall get around to updating the OP and all this weekend, but I wanted to announce that it's been decided that the following rule about alts will no longer be in effect:
FOR SEASON TWO, ACCOUNTS MUST BE STARTED ON OR AFTER DEC 11, 2023, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Feel free to complete the challenges on any account you desire to use.

If you have any feedback, or wish to ask me anything, message me on forum or on discord.

the only team I ever use when serious is my Hariyama + Dusclops + Granbull team, so that's also essentially gold almost platinum guts.
