"Well uh... I guess I'll leave the decision up to you. What do you want to do, Oona? On second thought, maybe not--"

:ss/clefable:
"Me? Turn down a lucrative position of power? Never! Clearly, these mice should come with us, since they're absolutely perfect for construction work! Besides, I'm sure you have plenty of space back at home."

The makeshift sign that the mice constructed now reads:
<Mouse-Topia: Population, 128 256>

1757640963585.png

"...I don't know if we have enough room for all of these mice... But we could maybe keep a few mice home if they want to come with us?"

:ss/clefable:
"Hmph! I'll figure out a way to fit them all. Don't you worry about that. Well that's settled then! I'll make space, and you'll do the rest!"

1757640963585.png

"Oona wait--"

Oona asks the mice if they want to come home with her and Duo.

:clefable: "Mouse Mistress? Mouse-tress? Reigning Rodent?"

The mice consider your offer. After much deliberation, they refuse. As much as they like Oona, and as persuasive as she is, asking all of them to abandon their home immediately after they founded it is a bit too tall of an ask to possibly be accepted. (Truthfully, taking home 256 512 mice wouldn't end well for you anyways.)

However, they do have a counter-proposition for you. The Maushold push one of their young to the front of the crowd. A newborn child, soaked in Luxray saliva. <We rescued her from the beast, only to discover that she smells like cat now. Cat-smell scares us. Since her presence causes us trouble, we'd be grateful if you'd receive her as our diplomatic emissary,> they squeak. <If you're not going to stay here as our reigning Mouse-tress, then this is the best way to still acknowledge your sovereignty.>

> Does she have a name?

<...? Tandemaus... Or perhaps "young Tandemaus," if you want to be specific.> The mice don't seem to understand the question. It could be that their concept of "names" differs from yours.

[Session End]
Duo watched a heated business dispute escalate into public chaos.
At the fighting boiled over, one of the residents spitefully released hundreds of Maushold into the streets.
The swarming Maushold almost wrecked the entire town, but Oona managed to charm the mice with her silly antics. By doing so she narrowly managed to quell the fighting. The town was saved.
The Maushold established their own settlement, Mouse-Topia, declared Oona their sovereign, and assigned her a Tagalong as their emissary/diplomat.

Vices:
- Zoning out
- Separating from the group to take a break

Stress Events:

Partner Pokémon
:bw/ditto:

Name: Mimi
Pronouns: they/them
Description: Mimi is quite mischievous. Often, they'll hide behind a corner and then spring out at whoever passes by. Other times, they'll slide around on the floor, causing people to slip on her gelatinous body. Nobody ever really knows where Mimi is at one time, but usually, they'll be exactly where they need to be when they need to be there.

Connection: Mimi doesn't really talk much, but they seem to enjoy Duo's presence. Oftentimes, Mimi will stow away under Duo's hat (or even as Duo's hat) when he goes out, and they also like to follow Duo around the house. Mimi is rather cute and agreeable, so Duo enjoys being with Mimi as well.

Expertise:
- Transforming into small everyday objects
- Temporarily mimicking someone else's face, voice, fingerprint, or other biometrics

Vices:
- Pranking someone by transforming into something surprising (e.g. a puddle, a scary mask)

(New Story, so)
Session 1 Start!
As you wander the region, night falls as a chilling wind blows over you, sending shivers up your spine and giving you the uneasy feeling that you're being watched. Trying to find shelter, you find yourself upon a simple roadside inn. Several bird pokemon are gathered at the front, nestling in now that the sun has set.

As you stumble in, cold and tired, everyone looks in your general direction... before returning to their previous affairs. As you look up, you realize that a number of people here are dressed in plain white clothes, donning masks to hide their faces. This is without a doubt an area belonging to that of Team 0n3. Yet, what draws your attention the most is the Lass at the counter, whining at the receptionist.

1761559745701.png

"C'mon, you've gotta be kidding me! You have so many guys and you aren't doing anything about the people and pokemon going missing...?"

The receptionist sighs as she shakes her head.

"We are not responsible for any such disappearances. It is none of our concern until then. This we have already told you many times. Or perhaps you want to pay an additional service fee?"

"Ughhh!"

The lass stomps off, heading back upstairs. She seems upset but can't do much about it... Maybe you can do something to help? Or perhaps would you rather get a room first... Your cap shudders a bit, your ditto, Mimi, crawling out of it. It sees a Spinda, clueless and waddling around, and they seem to think its a good idea to cause some mischief. Welp. That's... also another avenue of action.

Options:
1. Go find the Lass.
2. Talk to the receptionist.
3. Go pick up Mimi before they do something too chaotic.
4. Something else? Freedom's all yours.

"Huh, I wonder why there are so many people wearing masks... And was that Lass saying something about missing people? Oh well, better see if they have a room first."

Duo goes to the receptionist and tries to get a single room. He also tries to ask her about the disappearances. While he does this, Mimi...

:ss/spinda::ss/spinda:
...Mimi gets up to a bit of fun, mimicking the other Spinda in the lobby! Spiiiiiinnn....

You head to the receptionist, looking over at Mimi as they interact with the Spinda.

:sv/spinda:
"Spiiiiinnnnn! Hihi..."

Mimi and the Spinda spin around a bunch, tottering about. Mimi isn't as immediately good at it, causing it to look somehow more erratic than the actual Spinda. As they bump into the Spinda, the Spinda teeters around tipsily, making Mimi's head spin as they transform back, to the shock of Spinda. Feeling extra dizzy, they melt slightly onto the ground, looking defeated. (Mimi: +1 Stress)

"Ugh..."

"Huh?!"

You turn your attention back towards the receptionist, who coldly stares at you.

"Are you looking for shelter? The Inn can provide... at a cost. We only have one room left."

They slide a small paper towards you as it lists the cost of a room for each night. It's easily twice the cost of any other inn of this quality, likely costing an additional amount of funds... they don't even have like, free breakfast or anything nice.

"So what's all this about missing people...?"

"You must have overheard the previous tenant. Our apologies."

There's a silence, expecting the receptionist to continue the topic but... nothing.
Seems like they won't address it otherwise.

"So, would you like a room, then?"

Well, it's better than camping out in the wild... you're not even sure if you have the resources for it. Will you choose to rent a room or try and figure out something else?

:ditto: Mimi creeps back over to Duo and clings to his leg, watching the Spinda warily...

1761620678838.png

"I'll take your cheapest room for one please, thanks. Ow my wallet"

Despite the extravagant price of the inn, Duo does not really feel like sleeping on the street tonight. So, he splurges for a room in this inn. Hopefully it's worth the cost...

You pay for the room... ouch, your wallet... (-1 Resources)

As you head upstairs, key in hand, you see the Lass from before fumbling in her bag.

"No, no... Oh come on... Really..."

She sighs, looking downtrodden as you walk up to her. She notices you and quickly stands up straight.

"Everything alright?"

"Oh! Um, yeah, just... missing my key. ...Hey, you look like... Hmm. Could you help me? It's really important, I promise!"

You were already going to ask about it anyway, so...

"The disappearances, right?"

The Lass seems to look around, seeing if anyone's listening before leaning in with a conspiratorial whisper.

"Yeah, those... So basically, a bunch of people went missing, and it's definitely because of that Mystery Dungeon nearby! I swear those guys have something to do with it, but I just can't prove it! So could you like... check it out, maybe?"

You're already pretty tired, all things considered, but seeing as the time's already ticking, you're faced with the dilemma of when to go.

When will you go? Will you go in the first place? It's not like it's exactly got anything to do with you...

Doduodrio Your turn.

:ditto: Mimi continues clinging tightly to Duo's leg.

1761631549800.png

"Right now? It's pretty late... I don't think I'd be able to do anything effective even if I wanted to. This does seem pretty important though, so I'll check it out tomorrow morning. By the way... do you need any help with your key?"

Mimi detaches from Duo's leg and transforms into a key for the Lass's door!

:basement key:
"i'm... key! hehehe..."

You pick up Mimi, now transformed into a key. You try and get into the lock, but as you turn the Mimi Key-key, it makes a noticeable squelching sound. Grease squirts out of the keyhole as you hear a click. The door opens, but Mimi is now covered in grease.

"Thank you so much! Oh, and um, we should probably get your Ditto cleaned up..."

The Lass sends out her own pokemon and points at Mimi.

"Phanpy, use Water Gun, gently!"

Phanpy showers Mimi in water, cleaning them up as they shake off the excess.

"Stay safe, now!"

You thank the Lass and head to your own, room, getting ready for bed. It's not bad, but it's not really worth the price, either. Decoration is kept to a minimum and it smells like cheap perfume in the room, and just about everything in the room is white and grey. As you settle in for the night, laying down under the blankets, you happen to find yourself staring at the window... The curtains seem to be moving, as a chilling wind blows inside. As you get closer to close the window, you see a shadow...

Steeling yourself as you approach, ready for whatever happens, the curtains blow, showing a glimpse of the mysterious figure in the moonlight!
1761635416899.png

Donning a mask similar to the people downstairs, the strange figure ducks out of view once it's been spotted. You get a glimpse of it's eye-like mask and how it moved as if it were being tugged back like a puppet on a string. Shuddering, you close the window immediately and try to go back to bed, trying your best to not get nightmares...

You get nightmares anyway. (Duo: +1 Stress)

You wake up in a cold sweat, the morning shining through as the night has passed. That figure last night... was it real? Did the Lass happen to see them in the distance? You're unsure, but hey, better get up since it's already morning. Getting freshened up and going downstairs, you see the Lass sitting with her Phanpy in the lobby, while several of the masked individuals you saw last night have disappeared. The receptionist is busy talking to another member, but it's just a bit too far to hear. You could get closer, but it might be considered a little rude.

"Ough... that was not worth the price at all. And who was that creepy guy in the mask...? Oh well, we can think about that later. Let's go check out that Mystery Dungeon!"

:bw/ditto:
"ooh... look... lass..."

1761771102716.png

"Ah, good idea Mimi. We should probably see how that Lass's night went and also ask her what she knows about the Mystery Dungeon since we don't actually even know where it is..."

Duo goes to the Lass and officially introduces himself and Mimi (because they don't even know her name yet), and he also asks her for information about the Mystery Dungeon.

As you make your way towards the Lass, she waves at you.

"Hey, over here!"

You sit as she looks determined to tell you more. Before you can open your mouth, she immediately fires off a string of words.

"So right, I didn't introduce myself, I'm Momo, and basically, the mystery dungeon is like, just about east of here? You'd go out and turn left, you can't miss it, and also-"

"Err... Slow down..."
"Oh, sorry! What are your names?"

"I'm Duo, and this is my Ditto, Mimi."

"Oh, like... Mimic? That's a pretty cute name! Where was I... Oh right. So, I've heard, this Mystery Dungeon is extraaa spooky. It's full of a manner of spirits and people have gone missing ever since it popped up! It's been around for a while, but no one's sure when it'll close, so that's why I'm so worried... My friend, Taro, he's trapped in there!"

"That's terrible... Alright, I'll help. Anything else you can tell us?"

"You'll really do it?! Oh, you're a lifesaver, Duo! Right, so... Asides from the spirits, there's this one masked...thing. Spooky little thing, scares the jeepers out of me. I think it might be better if we went together, yknow?"

1761980494069.png

"Since I'm planning on going to the Mystery Dungeon anyways, it'd probably be safer if we went together. Safety in numbers, right? Part of me is also curious about what they're like, since I've never actually been to one before..."

:bw/ditto:
"adventure... yay..."

1761980494069.png

"While we're going there, can you tell us a bit more about Taro and the Mystery Dungeon?"

Momo joined your party!
Name: Momo
Pronouns: She/Her
Description: A lass that you met at a roadside inn. She's looking for the missing people much appreciates your help. Has a Phanpy which is also helping out.

Desire: Find the missing people, especially Taro, with Duo's help.

Expertise:
  1. Commanding Phanpy to use moves
  2. Running away quickly!
Vices:
  1. Babies her Phanpy
  2. Taking moments to catch her breath.
Stress Events:
  • Runs away from the stress-inducing source.
  • Verbally berates said stress-inducing source, or in the opposite side of the spectrum, talking way too much and way too fast...

Momo sighs as she looks over at you. Getting up and returning Phanpy to its pokeball.

"Taro's... a pretty headstrong sorta guy. When he heard about the disappearance, he charged in and then went up and disappeared! Gah, that dummy! I told him that we should wait for help!"

She calms down and guides you both towards the mystery dungeon.

"Anyway, I care about him a lot, so like... obviously I wanna get him back from this place... Oh right, this place. It's called the Lonely Forest Labyrinth. Full of Ghost and Grass Type pokemon, which... should hopefully be not as much of a problem?"

"Ah... I see. That sounds pretty spooky. What do you know about the disappearances?"

:bw/ditto:
"ghosts... spoopy..."

Duo asks Momo about the disappearances, and he also tries to get a better look at the Lonely Forest Labyrinth.

"There are a total of 4 people missing... a biker, 2 bug catchers, and Taro."

The entrance is already pretty spooky, there's just a Dragapult, tending to its dreepy... It takes notice of you before shifting about cautiously. It doesn't seem interested in battle unless forced to, though.

"Eek! A Dragapult! Aren't those like... super rare? What's one doing all the way out here?"

The lass shudders as she prepares to take out her pokeball.

"It's kind of too close to the entrance... is it blocking it?"

There are a few courses of options you could take...
1. You can try to reason with the Dragapult... Though as a presumably Wild Pokemon, this could go south.
2. You can try to go past the Dragapult slowly, to avoid looking hostile.
3. You can try to battle the Dragapult, though you risk fighting, well... a Dragapult.
4. Something else? Again, your choice.

:ss/dreepy:
"i'm dreepy...! hehe"

Duo tries to pass the Dragapult without fighting it, and Mimi transforms into a Dreepy for fun.

With your expertise in Navigation, you, Mimi, and Momo make your way through thick foliage to avoid being spotted by Dragapult... You bump into what you believe to be Mimi, and quickly stuff the Dreepy under your hat, just to be sure you won't be spotted.

You manage to make it by, but it was pretty unnerving. Duo and Momo: +1 Stress

You eventually make your way into the Lonely Forest Labyrinth proper, the flora getting denser as you slowly make your way towards a clearer area. As it happens, you stumble upon a gigantic door. An Amoonguss and an Ivysaur guard the entrance, but they haven't noticed you yet.

They both seem to be quite steadfast and would likely prevent you from opening the door... Not to mention that said door is covered in gigantic vines, making it an even more gargantuan task to open properly.

Looking around for more options, on your left is a large tree surrounded by multiple Morelull and Shiinotic, all dancing around it. They seem to be chanting something, but it's hard to make out from this distance.

On your right, meanwhile, seems to be a underpass filled with Combee, Budew, and Roselia. Momo seems to find this option more adorable...

"Aw, look at those cuties..." she speaks in a soft whisper, "Maybe we should go that direction? I have a few antidotes, so even if the Roselia are aggressive, we should manage..." ...she quickly shakes her head, looking back at you. "B-but if you think that there's a different direction, that's fine too!"

It's your call, Doduodrio. What route will you take?

As you trudge through the flowers, you're overwhelmed with the fresh and deeply relaxing scent of Roselia, as well as the overly sweet smell of dazzling honey. The dreepy with you takes the time to sniff the flowers as it moves around.

"Geez, this place is crawling with Combee... I don't think there are usually this many unless a nest and a Vespiquen are nearby..."

Within the depths of the underpass, you witness (Mystery Dungeon: Chaos Roll: 51) a Roserade, surrounded by a bunch of Roselia.

roserade.png

"I must beseech you all to remain alert at all times... I have received news that humans are wandering about this place..."

Not only is this Roserade's coloration unique, and its size far exceeds that of normal Roserade, but it shows many a sign of battle scars, most likely from other pokemon that trainers used to face it. The fact that it remains here leads you to believe that this Roserade is no pushover.

As you try to listen in, your hat shuffles, as the Dreepy within floats out. It looks at you curiously before letting out a small chirp. Mimi transforms back so its easier to tell which one's the wild Dreepy...

"Ack, wait, sh-"

A Budew starts making its way towards your position, curious about the sound. You survey your surroundings and see that none of the other Pokemon seem to be paying attention to you. The budew disappears into the grass, its location now unknown to you and your party.

If this Budew manages to find your location, it could be pretty bad for you. That Roserade looks like it's seen better days, after all.
