After careful thinking....new OU team.

Ok, So I realized that my last team had a lot of flaws, so I only decided to keep three pokemon from my previous team. I've given it a lot of thought this time, so please put as much thought into rating it as I did making it.

Celebi@lum berry[LEAD]
Calm
EVs: 252 sp def, 252 hp, 6 def
Calm mind
Thunder wave
Leech seed
Giga drain

Celebi is here to provide more of a defense against grass and fighting. I decided to make it sp def-orientated because it is weak to fire and ice. Works well with heatran, and makes a good lead(counters a lot of common leads).

Heatran@choice specs
Mild
EVs: 252 sp atk, 244 spd, 14 hp
Overheat
Earth power
HP electric
Explosion

Heatran Is a great special sweeper. Overheat kills just about any pokemon in one hit unless they resist. With flash fire it kills everything in one hit. Earth power and hp electric for coverage, and explosion for blisseys. Makes a good late game sweeper.

Gyarados@leftovers
Adamant
EVs: 252 atk, 202 spd, 56 hp
Waterfall
Earthquake
Ice fang
Dragon dance

Gyarados is one of the powerhouses of this team. This has relatively good coverage, and If I dance one or twice I could easily sweep a whole team with this. Even if I don't dance, I usually end up sweeping at least a couple pokemon.

Mamoswine@life orb
Jolly
EVs: 252 atk, 252 spd, 6 hp
Earthquake
Stone edge
Ice shard
Ice fang

Mamoswine is here mostly to deal with dragons and provide an offense equal to the power of garchomp with its earthquake. It's ice shard can take out any dragon in one hit. It is a pretty good attacker, with the only true counter to it being bronzong.

Snorlax@leftovers
Careful
EVs: 252 hp, 200 def, 58 sp def
Body slam
Crunch
Sleep talk
Rest

Ok, so snorlax is a special wall. I figured he would be a good replacement for dusknoir. I'm not sure if restalk was the right moveset or not though. Suggestions for him please? I put 200 EVs in def because hes already pretty good on sp def.

Gengar@leftovers
Timid
EVs: 252 sp stk, 252 spd, 6 hp
Hypnosis
Shadow ball
Thunderbolt
Focus blast

Gengar is my second special sweeper. Hypnosis+shadow ball deals with machamp, and thunderbolt and focus blast for type coverage. He is here to cover a lot of major threats that my team might face.

Overall, this team is balanced as is has two physical sweepers, two special sweepers, and two walls. I think I have all the types covered for the most part, and the celebitran combo is good. Gengar works not only as a sweeper, but also has hypnosis. I think this team flows rather well. Suggestions?

Honestly, that's quite a bit of offense. If you need electric coverage, put HP Electric over Flash Cannon on that first set, since Flash Cannon seems pretty useless, and Kamikaen has an awesome HP Electric 68 Heatran.

Take Salamance out and put in a new wall, that can take some status. Also, put abilities on your Pokemon please. Confuse Ray is generally a bad status inducing move. I suggest Will-O-Wisp instead,as it cripples physical sweepers, and isn't easily cured(unlike confusion). Stealth Rock doesn't really have any use,so I'd suggest Calm Mind or something else.

Yeah, I was thinking about wil-o-wisp over confuse ray. I guess it makes more sense now that I think about it, but its not too accurate.

Hm, I guess calm mind could be of some good use.

As for a third wall....would another special sweeper not be better? If not porygon-z like I was thinking, then maybe snorlax as a special sponge?

Take Flash Cannon off of Heatran, it has craptastic coverage. Replace it with either Explosion to finish off weakened Blisseys and the like, or with Fire Blast. You'll have two fire-type moves, but you can use Fire Blast for the majority of the game and use Overheat for late-game sweeping.

When you have three slots for attacking moves on Gyarados, I prefer Waterfall/EQ/Ice Fang. Without Ice Fang you have nothing against Garchomp. TBH, very few things resist both EQ and Ice Fang, the only exception I can think of being Bronzong, which is covered by STAB Waterfall. The only reason you might want to keep Stone Edge is to counter other Gyarados, but that doesn't seem worth it to me. You do have Mamoswine as a good dragon counter, but Ice Fang/EQ still offers the best possible coverage.

Mamoswine has godly HP, and that should be complemented with Choice Band, not Life Orb. It doesn't need more than 232 Speed EVs with an Adamant nature to hit 254 for the likes of enemy Modest Heatrans. More on CBMamo's EVs from the Smogon analysis:

The Choice Bander should always have max Attack. Speed should be 244 (192 EVs, Adamant) for Jolly Tyranitar, 254 (232 EVs, Adamant) for Modest Heatran, 270 (200 EVs, Jolly nature) for Adamant Heracross or 280 (236 EVs, Jolly nature) for Adamant / Modest Lucario. Any remaining EVs should go in HP.

Dusknoir's moveset is in need of a huge overhaul. Confuse Ray is generally an unreliable move in competitive play, Pursuit doesn't work well with Dusknoir's less than amazing attack stat and the fact that psychic-types won't exactly love to stay out against it anyway. Ice Punch is redundant due to Mamoswine's presence in the team and a possible Ice Fang on Gyarados. Shadow Sneak > Shadow Punch because any chance Dusknoir has to attack first is useful.

Dusknoir doesn't even really serve a purpose on the team. Most are used to get rid of Rapid Spinners trying to get rid of your Spikes/Toxic Spikes/SR, but you have none of that in your team. Not only that, but it doesn't work well with Celebi at all, because both are weak to both Ghost and Dark-type attacks.

That is all for now.

Ok, so I switched out dusknoir and salamence for snorlax and porygon-z....edited the first post. I figured they went much better in my team. Also, I got that heatran from Kamikaen. Suggestions?

Am I the only one who sees how bad of a DD Tyranitar weakness you have? =/ Seriously after 1 DD he should ohko half the team and after 2 its lights out for everyone. Whats worse is he can come in on like half of the team and get those dds unharmed =0

After that attack increase and speed increase he will easily just stone edge shit and tear everything up into peices.

So how to counter? Well for one Heatran as a lead might not be the best move. Ok yeah sure he beats the number 1 lead bronzong. big deal, so does subspiker skarm but guess what? you never see that as a lead. Know why? Because other leads will ko it easily. Here is no exception. This certain Specs Heatran will lose to Gengar, Gyarados, Garchomp, Salamence, and Tyranitar in pretty much one shot...And all of those can pretty much outspeed him. Why is he leading then? he is easy tar and gyara set up who will not then hesistate to sweep your team into pieces. I would either lead with Lum Berry Thunder Wave Celebi who will beat Gengar, Mence, and Gyara as well as Cripple Tar. Also give him Grass Knot over Giga drain for that big power boost and enough to ohko hippo and hurt tar badly after you thunder wave him. Heatran can be used lategame part of the celetran combo.

Why the hell do you have 4 weaks to fighting? Take out porygon z for something like gengar or azelf please. You are getting just raped by Machamp, and God Help you if it is ThunderPunch + Dynamic Punch Choice Scarf Machamp. Seriously a Hypnosis Gar is almost required on this team over porygon Z just for that reason alone.

will edit more in if I see a big weakness. It looks ok though after those changes.

That Gengar set is flawed in so many ways.

I would use

* Shadow Ball
* Hypnosis
* Thunderbolt
* Focus Blast

Thunderbolt also hits gyara hard again, one of those major threats as Focus Blast deals with the tyranitar trouble you had. Hypnosis and Shadow Ball will deal with champ fine. Dark Pulse + Shadow Ball gives bad coverage and Nightmare is kind of ridiculous imo

timid nature on gengar as well

Ok, thanks for the moveset advice, I was pretty sure it looked wrong....lol.

Anyone else see flaws with the team(or more importantly...does anyone know someone with a calm celebi...lol)?

I like your team but I think Celebi might not be the best lead because of the many other leads that will pursue you (Tyranitar,Weavile,Heracross,Metagross) and leave your celebi hurt, more over celebi works well to come in as he takes hit well to protect your other pokemons. Also your celebi will have trouble against leads with U-turn (Azelf,Infernape,Crobat,Zapdos). One more lead that might give your celebi trouble its Taunt Gyarados as it will leave you with only giga drain to use against him.

If you keep the same pokemons i would suggest either gyarados or gengar as your lead and that is if gengar is scarf with Hypnosis to deal with common leads that would give Gengar trouble (Weavile,Brozong) or Gyarados with Taunt to deal with the most common lead right now hypnosis Brozong and others (Ninjask,Roserade).
