This is the most disgusting thing I've seen in a very long time. Like, this is Jirachi Ice Punch levels of jank. With reckless abandon, Ythilxerion rams itself again and again into Azubuike, completely overpowering the tiny Pokemon. It's almost mechanical in its single-minded aggression. Struggling to brace herself, Azubuike can only weather the onslaught of attacks and wait for some chance to act which never arrives.

Yet, a dark, fearsome power wells up within Azubuike... All the pent-up anger and frustration building up inside reaches a climax and Azubike, unable to stand it any longer, channels that malice into a solid blob of hatred and fires it at Ythilxerion! The sheer intensity of her attack crushes Ythilxerion's defenses! Ythilxerion doesn't stop. Clearly that thing's got a plan, and that plan involves using just two moves over and over again. I guess it's up to Azubuike to shake things up around here. At the first opportunity, she lets off a sudden burst of electricity that disrupts her floating foe's magnetic field. The effect is instant: Ythilxerion sloppily tumbles through the air and nearly crashes into a wall! It doesn't look like it'll be flinching Azubuike any time soon in this condition. While Ythilxerion gets its bearings, Azubuike heats things up with a fiery flamethrower. Ythilxerion's steel body absorbs the heat like a bar of soap at the beach -- in other words, not too well. But what's this? Despite its Paralysis, Ythilxerion still manages to keep fighting! It continues hitting Azubuike with strikes which lack their former speed and pressure but still hit just as hard. Growing desparate, Azubuike throws another devastating Shadow Ball, but even that isn't enough to keep the determined Beldum from finishing Azubuike off and securing the first KO of the match.

Now that Azubuike's finished, it's time for Cadin the Nincada to take her place. Using his wide, shovel-like front claws, Cadin scoops up a big mound of mud and smears it all over Beldum's eye! Gross! The mud (or at least I hope it's mud) ends up becoming yet another nuisance for Ythilxerion, who already has to deal with crippling Paralysis and two drops to its Special Defense. Ythilxerion retaliates with a well-placed headbutt that does decent damage but for some reason doesn't turn the tiny insect into a splatter of goop... Eh? Nincada is actually over a foot tall? That's nice and all, but we're still talking about a 95-kilogram hunk of steel crashing into him, I don't... oh whatever. Moving on now, Cadin burrows underground, expecting to ambush Ythilxerion by surprise. His opponent isn't surprised at all. I think it saw this coming, actually. Right away, Ythilxerion toughens its steel exterior and plants its weight firmly. When Cadin emerges from the ground expecting an easy target, he ends up being the one caught off guard -- he slams into Beldum's tough coat too hard and hurts himself in the process. The recoil barely amounts to anything, but you can see Cadin's eyes burn with indignance. Outraged, Cadin slings some more mud at Ythilxerion. Finally, Ythilxerion rears back and performs one last exhausted tackle that does extremely little damage. No psychic flair or flinch-inducing strength; just a tired little bump. Ythilxerion doesn't look like it's going to last much longer in this condition.

Unless I'm mistaken Beldum's combination has an attacking priority of -2, which matches the attacking priority of Nincada's Dig attack. It's an intense game of Whack-a-Mole Ythilxerion is playing here; if Ythilxerion can predict when and where Cadin will emerge from the ground, he can pound the bug into the dirt with a highly damaging combination! At least, that must be what Ythilxerion is going for? Maybe? I'm not sure... Whatever the Beldum's plan is, it doesn't work. While Ythilxerion stares at the ground, Nincada pops right out from under it and bops it in the eye for an easy KO.

Humm(mmm) the Slowpoke idles into the fray. He seems to be cheering on his unconscious teammate -- does he even realize he's in the battle yet? Staring into space, he makes no attempt to avoid Cadin's X-Scissor. Now it's Humm's turn to attack. With a drawn-out groan, the Slowpoke releases a slow-moving wave that washes over Cadin for Super-Effective damage! Cadin then clamps down onto Humm with his sharp teeth only for Humm to blow him away with a blast of blistering ice. Eventually, Cadin decides that an evasive strategy might be more effective against Humm, so in a flash he zips underground, readying his claws for a sneaky underground ambush.

Humm stops to think. What to do? He had a plan for this kind of situation, but he can't remember it for the life of him. If Nincada is underground... Ah, yes, that's it! He should block the Nincada, preventing him from going underground to begin with! Slowly, Humm limps over to Nincada's entry tunnel and flops his body on top of it. He smiles; with the tunnel taken care of, Slowpoke can confidently release a giant pulse of water across the arena. No way Cadin can avoid this, right? Easy-peasy.

Don't ever change, Slowpoke.
