Well, I was away for a while while sixth gen happened, then I got back and active and decided to adapt my stall team to Pokebank OU (since regular OU is going to die soon anyhow). To my delight I didn't have to change it much. And here it is:
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 36 Def / 220 SDef
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
Player-haters beware because
Rocks don't kill people, nuh uh. He kills people (chick chick) with rocks *pow*
So obviously Hippowdon gets Stealth Rocks up for me. He walls electric types pretty well, as well as Tyranitar. Has problems with Rotom-w though;takes on fire-types well too. Earthquake is to bring the pain train to the slain in spain. Slack Off because he just sits there all day on his fat ass as people try to get him to move. Whirlwind gets annoying ppl out of his face. The spread...i forget what it does exactly, but it does some good things. Hippowdon is a nice catchall check to everything and gets rid of bad weather, although with the death of sun his utility has dropped like a motherfucker. Takes on gengar pretty well.
Sylveon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 56 SDef / 252 HP / 200 Def
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
Sylveon is a new addition, a beautiful fairy with a beautiful voice to match. Hyper Voice is full of strong and stops setup on sylveon, smashes dragons and fighters and darks, pierces subs, and smashes people who don't know it pierces subs. (it's good even if they do know, so i'm not just taking advantage of lack of knowledge.) Wish regenerates and can be passed, protect scouts and ensures i actually RECEIVE said wish. Heal Bell wipes status away.
It's physically defensive for dragons and to a lesser extent fighters, and because I felt it had enough SpD. Now it's a pretty pimp mixed-wall with a lot of power behind it. It takes on for me:Kyurem-B, Hydreigon, Latios, Latias, Subpunch Breloom, Rotom-w, most Water-types to some extent...basically most special attackers i don't have covered specifically by something else.
Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
Starmie is my rapid pokemon, fast and rapid spinning. Rapid spin obviously gets rid of hazards, particularly nice to switch in on Deoxysses and Skarmory and spin in their faces. Hydro pump is the strongest STAB starmie can legitimately use, and wards off pursuit while smashing Heatran, Gliscor, and Excadrill. Thunderbolt is because Sylveon has most dragons covered, alongside skarmory and heatran of course, so Thunderbolt helps cover Water-types. Helps me spin on Jellicent, although now trevenant and gourgeist are harder to spin on. Luckily they are easier to wear down and to hydro pump. Recover is because i don't like my spinner being worn down and lets me deal with bulky waters much better.
As i said, takes on Bulky Waters, heatran, gliscor, mold breaker excadrill on occasion, Gyarados, anything weakened.
Sableye @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Def
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Recover
- Foul Play
Sableye the prankster guy got a hard nerf in the form of fairy, but can now smash even steels with foul play and misses far less often with WoW. Still functions about the same, although i hate talonflame so much. Takes on Mega Lucario and Mega Kangaskhan too, plus psychics, weaker stuff, burns bulky waters if i need him to, has heal bell now so he can take status, stallbreaks, spinblocks. WoW burns stuff for physical threats, really helps against excadrill and donphan, wears stuff down. Taunt blocks healing and setup. Recover stops me from being worn down. Foul play trashes a lot of stuff, especially burned physical attackers that swords danced. Sableye is my suicide check to basically every physical threat if i need it.
Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
Skarmory, my physical wall. Takes on most physical dragons as well, takes on excadrill, diggersby, gliscor, so much etc. Spikes on stuff, which is what Spikes are for. Roost heals, brave bird smashes those weak to it, gets nice hits on stuff, taunts. Whirlwind phases. Skarmory just tanks stuff all day, physically speaking.Shed Shell lets it get away from traps.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 92 HP / 252 SDef / 164 Spd
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Taunt
- Earth Power
- Toxic
Heatran, my baby boo. Walls fires, grasses, helps against special dragons, beats down steels of all shapes and sizes and toxics dragons and bulky waters as they come in, smashes fairies. The spread is because i prefer SpD to HP, logic be damned. Lava plume trashes steels and grasses and bugs and has a truly sweet burn chance. Earth Power is for enemy heatran, which have been really bothering me. Taunt+Toxic lets heatran also stallbreak, Toxic standalone gets so many problematic pokemon, especially bulky waters, as they come in (or after they come in, scald doesn't do THAT much), and taunt rejects setup standalone. Beats all the stuff i said it beats up there.
So overall, this team is basically proof against most stuff. Rotom-w can get annoying, Defog and stall cores can cause me problems, and to be honest so many old threats this stuff dealt with isn't here any more. But it still works well.
Loses like crazy to Mega Garchomp, has problems with some of the other super-strong megas. Again, defog stall is a bitch, as is rotom-w. Xatu eats me alive, and gastrodon pisses me off. Taunt talonflame smashes this team pretty good. I'll update later, but for now, have fun helping me or taking this team for your own if you want.
