All Hail Orbed Land Genie

INTRODUCCION:Well I have decided to post a sand team I built around sheer force landorus and backing it up is a G/F/W core I think it needs improvment that’s why I wanna post it so you guys can tell me threats to this team and what to change so this team can improve more.

THE TEAM:

Tyranitar @ Chople Berry
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Atk / 20 SAtk / 212 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Crunch
- Fire Blast
- Pursuit
- Earthquake

Tyranitar is my sand inducer of choice because not only does he induce sand add a chople berry to him and he can revenge kill special threats like gengar and alakazam or reuniclus that would otherwise !HKO him with focus blast he can also kill with ease the lati twins wich can be a big threat...with this set he can be threatning to pokemon that could KO him with ease like terrakion wich gets 2HKO'd by earthquake Fire Blast is for Skarmory and Ferrothorn Crunch and Pursuit is for the ghost and psychic pokemon

Breloom @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Low Sweep
- Bullet Seed
Breloom the 1st part of my core and a real helpful pokemon because he can punch many holes to my opponents team it’s one of my main counters to rain teams especially dedicated rain stall teams he can defeat almost all the pokemon that are in rain teams …Spore is to put something to sleep and keep pressure on my opponent also making him have 5 pokemon as the pokemon put to sleep will only be dead weight to him and it synergizes well with Low Sweep as after the pokemon is put to sleep the most obvious thing our opponent will do is switch out to a faster counter and Low Sweep will lower its Speed hopefully scoring a 2HKO with the next attack. Mach Punch is to revenge kill pokemon that lack a ghost typing and bullet seed is here mainly because of it’s ability to break substitutes and keep hitting.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
Heatran is here because he has great bulk , he has many opportunities to lay Stealth Rocks , he stops dragon pokemon with hes uniquie typing and stats and most importantly he stops sun teams from wrecking havoc with this EV spread he is able to take specs Draco Meteors from latios something very apreciative and sports an imunity to toxic and burns as well as imune to fire attacks wich is very nice.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 232 Spd / 56 SAtk / 96 SDef / 124 HP
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Rotom-W is the 3rd part of of my core and is my other counter to rain..What breloom can’t counter this little guy can and vie-versa this guy is really helpfull keeping pressure to my opponents team is invaluable and crippling my opponents pokemon makes Rotom even better with stab Hydro Pump he takes care of most fire types that aren’t in the sun , Volt Switch to keep momentum , WoW to cripple my opponents phisical threats and Pain Split to gain health and have a better chance against bulky pokemon like Blissey or Chansey.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 232 Def / 252 HP / 24 Spd
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Spikes
- Whirlwind

Skarmory is here because he is my physical wall since I needed a pokemon that can wall most physical threats like terrakion without having to relly on a burn Brave Bird is so I won’t be forced to switch if I’m taunted Roost is to recover lost health , Spikes to put more pressure on my opponent and so he will think about each time he switches And whirlwind is to rack up hazard damage

Landorus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Rock Polish
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Landorus the main pokemon of the team the pokemon that makes this team threatning once it’s in and sets up a Rock Polish and my opponents team has been weakened this guy can finish them off a Modest nature is chosen because with Rock Polish I don’t have to worry about Speed anymore EarthPower is there cuz it’s a reliable stab boosted by Sheer Force and Life orb , Focus Blast is for steel type pokemon that receive neutral damage from Earth Power and H.P. Ice is for coverage.
Conclusion: This team still needs more improvement so if you guys have better sets or pokemon that covers this team’s threats I’m all ears Thank you.

Hi

I can see your strategy with this team, Tyranitar supports Landorus by removing its checks (mainly Celebi and Lati Twins) and Rotom-W is your best weapon against Rain teams, which otherwise can smash your team pretty easily.

However, even if you have Rotom-W which is without any doubt a great check to Rain teams nowadays, it isn't enough and Keldeo looks like a big threat for your team since it can hit hard your Rotom-W with Sacret Sword and then smash the other members of your team with Surf. Therefore, I'm going to suggest you Latias replacing Heatran, which seems the most useless member of your team (and which makes you a lot weaker to Rain teams). Latias is a very very good check to Keldeo and gives you another resistance to Water-type too, which is obviously really nice since Rotom-W can't tank strong Water-type attacks for all the battle because Pain Split isn't a reliable recovery move. Remaining on the topic of Latias, I'd use an EV spread of 72 HP / 184 SAtk / 252 Spd with a moveset of Surf, Draco Meteor, Psyshock and Recover, with a Timid nature and with Life Orb. 72 EVs on Speed allow to take less damages from strong Water-type attacks (and from hits in general of course) without lose so much fire power. In a similiar way, Latias can check Sun teams too, expect for Volcarona which is a problem for your team if you decide to use Latias instead of Heatran (you also lacks Stealth Rock if you decide to not use Heatran, which is bad of course because Volcarona is even more threatening since Stealth Rock is its main problem and if it isn't in the field, it can sweep more easily as you probably know).

Therefore, I suggest you to use Stealth Rock and Stone Edge replacing Earthquake and Fire Blast on Tyranitar. While Earthquake and Fire Blast aren't very useful in the current BW2 OU metagame on the T-Rex, Stealth Rock is the best move in the game since it damages all the Pokemon (expect the Magic Guard users which aren't really common) and since it helps you against threats such as Volcarona, Thundurus-T and Tornadus. Otherwise Stone Edge is a powerful STAB and it allows Tyranitar to destroy Volcarona before it setups (Volcarona can setup on your current Tyranitar easily and that's quite bad, especially if you decide to replace your Heatran).

As last thing, you may try this EV spread on your Landorus: 88 HP / 252 SAtk / 168 Spd. It allows to outspeed all the relevant threats after a Rock Polish and to have at the same time more staying power which is useful to setup more easily, for example. I think you should try it and see how it goes.

Here's the set you should use:

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Recover
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf

Good luck!

Hi there,

Pretty solid team you got here, however there are a couple problems that I can see. Your team seems to be based around removing Landorus's checks with Tyranitar, paving the way for a Landorus sweep, however I doubt how effective your current Tyranitar set is at removing common Landorus checks [Latias, Jellicent, Celebi, etc]. I'd suggest changing your current Tyranitar to a Choice Band set, which will allow you to remove these a lot easier. With Heatran carrying Stealth Rock, there's not a whole lot of need to run Specially Defensive Tyranitar, and I think you'll get a lot more use out of this set.

Another problem I saw was how weak to Rain you were. You've got two water resists in Rotom-W and Breloom, however Breloom is not switching in to water attacks under Rain anyway. I have two solutions for this, but I think you only need to choose one to fix this problem. The first solution I can recommend is to make your Rotom-W fully Specially Defensive -- try an EV spread of 252 HP / 28 SAtk / 228 SDef alongside your Calm Nature. I'd also drop Leftovers for Chesto Berry, and Pain Split for Rest. This will help you to preserve Rotom-W against Rain teams as you have a lot more freedom to switch into the likes of Starmie and Politoed, alleviating some of the pressure on the rest of your team mates. The EV spread means you're taking considerably less from the aforementioned Rain boosted attacks, and is much more efficient than your current EV spread which I really don't understand what it is accomplishing.

The second solution I have for you involves altering your Breloom set slightly. I think a Specially Defensive set would work nicely in that role, should you not decide to go with my other solution. It similarly provides you with a solid water resist, while also posing as a big problem for Rain teams as you can deal with stuff like Politoed, Thundurus-T and Ferrothorn a lot easier. If you do go with the Breloom change, then I'd strongly recommend that you swap out Rotom-W aswell -- I think a defensive Starmie would work nicely over Rotom-W, primarily for giving you an answer for Keldeo as well as providing you with Rapid Spin support, as otherwise defensively inclined teams can pretty much stack hazards + spin against you for free as you have nothing to stop them. Between Breloom and Starmie, you should have no trouble against Stall teams while Landorus gives you an answer for more offensive teams.

Good luck!

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SDef / 24 Spe
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Spore
- Bulk Up
- Seed Bomb
- Drain Punch

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SAtk / 36 SDef / 216 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
  • Choice Band Tyranitar > Specially Defensive Tyranitar

Either:

  • 252 HP / 28 SAtk / 228 SDef + Rest + Chesto Berry for Rotom-W
  • Specially Defensive Breloom + Defensive Starmie > Swords Dance Breloom + Rotom-W

Despite having Rotom-W your team still struggles with Rain teams a lot. nothing on your team can take repeated surfs in the rain (even if rotom and breloom resist it).

Heatran only adds to your weakness to rain teams. It may be helpful against dragons and has set up opportunities for putting up stealth rock, it's deadweight against rain. I would immediately replace it with something like latias. It has the bulk to take repeated special hits, great recovery, amazing resistances, decent offensive presence, and isn't vulnerable to stealth rock. If you do replace heatran, make sure to give your Skarmory Stealth Rock. I'm not sure of how helpful spikes would be anyway as Landorus does not really have trouble with pokemon that aren't levitating. (Its best checks are lati@s and Rotom-w)

Additionally, you should make your Rotom-W have much more spdef if your goal with it is to be an answer to rain threats. On a pokemon with such low base hp you should always max out its hp and then put the majority of it into spdef to take surfs/ice beams/tbolts/hurricanes etc. On your current spread you are 2hko'd by sheer force landorus, which is your best bet against it if you don't add latias to your team. Changing your EV spread to 252 HP / 32 SAtk / 224 SDef will aid you in taking on rain teams.

Lastly, I would go ahead and give Breloom a Life Orb or Fighting Gem. It's not going to get a lot of usage out of leftovers because you are using a sand team, and mitigating the sand damage you take is going to be futile. Adding in extra damage to your attacks could definitely help you get a few KO's that you normally wouldn't be able to get.

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 32 HP / 224 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Surf
- Psyshock

An offensive latias for an offensive team. It puts pressure on your opponent and has great survivability with its typing, natural bulk, and instant recovery move.

Good luck, and I hope I helped!

Well since most of you are insisting on latias over heatran then ok but I still need a good dragon check because almost all teams have at least one
