Well, this is my first attempt at an art thread. This will include most of my recent stuff, and a WIP or two ^^ Anyway... Enjoy, and constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated, but plaese don't be too harsh, I'm only 13 and kinda new to this, and mainly just experimenting with different styles and such.

If you want an avatar similar to these, I would be happy to make one. I'm restricting this to one pokemon per image, and one request per person. Simply because I don't ahve unlimited free time, even though I do have a lot at the moment, 'cos it's the summer hols! Also, you are free to use any of the existing avatars, but please just leave a note in your sig saying that I made the avatar.

I originally intended this to be entered in the CAP, but it doesn't look enough like a fighting type. I still like the design though.

I refrenced it for the pose and shading, simply to practice, thats all. But the artwork is mine, I promise. (If the above artwork belongs to anyone other than the pokemon company, I am sorry, but I referenced it from serebii.net on a pokemon of the week page, and added that fact to the first post)

I aslo finished the Reshiram:

I might try to add a background to it, but I'm not sure yet..
 
OK, I will take your word for it.

It was strange that I was looking through the page which had that pokemon on earlier and I had a moment of woah...wtf.

Just try to change it a bit more, it seems fairly obvious you traced it as it is almost exactly the same so I would say try to copy it. Maybe change the direction of his head, that way the pokemon will look different and the art really will be your own.

EDIT: I really like the Reshiram, I would be interested on how you did it as the smoothness of the outlines and shadings give it a really delicate (for lack of a better word) look
 
I will edit it a bit later, thanks for that, and sorry about the misunderstanding :)

I use a program called 'Paint tool SAI', which is a program thats great for lineart, and has a specific brush tool that I used for the shading because it is so soft, and gats progressively darker. God thats hard to explain XD

Any ideas on what to do next?
 
We seem to have very different styles so how about if we choose a pokemon and could both do it and see how our styles vary with certain pokemon?
 
@Porygon-d: Yeah, sure! Which pokemon do you want to do? I'm up for a challenge, so let's try something a bit harder, like Arcanine maybe?
 
Well I was thinking I could kinda kill 2 birds with 1 stone =P and do either Misdreavus or Latios as they are two requests I have had so far and have not completed them yet.

If you don't feel confident with either I don't mind
 
Cool let's do Latios, I was thinking about doing Latias, so I might as well do both!

Also, if anyone wants an avatar similar to this:

Doran Dragon: Okay, I should have it done by tomorrow

Tangyrowth: Ummm, should I do Tangrowth or Drifblim?? I'm only doing one simply because you can only have one avatar at a time. Sorry about that, I should have mentioned it on the main post.

I'm half way through a lati@s, so expect it to be done some time tomorrow.
 
I would love a jolteon or an umbreon done in a similar pose as delcatty, when your done that is, and great artwork, wish I could draw like that :P

I'm not interested in an avatar, but I'd love to see you draw an Octillery! Your style is very clean-cut and smooth, I really like it. It's eye-catching and lovely.

You would not believe how long that tree took! I'm happy with the results, but, the clouds look kinda wierd...
 
woah thats nice dude, I haven't even started my latios yet, Ill get it done today. I dont do Backgrounds though.

Also I am ordering a tablet today so I should be doing some different stuff soon.

Dromiceiomimus: You'll probably like my next pic then, I was going to do an underwater scene anyway, so I can incorperate an octillery in there!

Porygon-d: Lucky you getting a tablet!! There's me stuck with my dodgey mouse... I really like the Latias though, it's all expressive and cutesy =D But it looks a bit like it's missing a wing, I do stuff like that constantly XD
