So...what do we do here?
Welcome to the AAA Resources thread! One thing we very much want to encourage this generation is community involvement in the resources thread. We got an amazing response when we asked for sample sets in the main thread, and that's what we want to continue here.

What goes here?
Do you have a sample set for a mon on the VR? Post it here, especially for mons that do not have sample sets/analyses. Think something is in the wrong place on the viability ranking, or missing a viable ability? Tell us why. Do you think one of the analyses is out of date, or could be improved? Make the suggestion. See something missing from the Speed tiers? Point it out. Are there other types of resources you would like to see? We're all ears!

What still goes in
the main thread?
Basically, everything else. Tiering actions, cool strategies you've found, sharing sample teams or fun teams you've been using, etc. all still go in the main thread. This thread is for specifically contributing to resources, everything else still goes in the main thread.

Thanks for all the contributions you've made so far, and we look forward to seeing what else you come up with!

Ok I didn't think I would be back in this thread again so quickly but think the defensive Great Tusk set can be improved a little.

The first change is removing 32 EVs from HP and the 4 in Atk and moving them to speed. This creeps Jolly Iron Hands and let's you tie +Speed base 100s. It might be worth to invest 40 EVs into speed to outspeed base 100s at +1, but the most important thing is creeping Hands IMO.

Also I think Stealth Rock can be slashed behind Body Press for the 4th slot, as Great Tusk is often able to find opportunities to set up Rocks during a game and matches up pretty well vs a lot of the tier's hazard removal.

anyways this is what i think the new sett should look like

Great Tusk @ Leftovers / Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 220 HP / 252 Def / 36 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
- Body Press / Stealth Rock

Palo needs a sample set!
Palossand @ Leftovers
Ability: Fur Coat
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Shore Up
- Earth Power
- Shadow Ball

I randomly decided that I wanted to try Palossand and looked around the forums and resources a bit, as well as asking on PS. The most I could find was "decent physical wall, gog set better, hippo better". Haters. Palossand being part Ghost-type actually came into play quite a bit with spinblocking and just taking less chip from random U-Turns

Shadow Ball I think separates Palossand from Hippowdon as well, as now you can waste Corviknight's Roosts if it just tries to 1v1 you, or force it out and manage to keep your rocks. Also in last mon scenarios you get plenty of chances to spam Shadow Ball vs, say, DD Dragonite, which means most times it won't be able to get enough boosts to kill you then sweep your whole team because of Roost PP and SpDef drop chances.

In my opinion Earth Power is slightly more important than Shadow Ball, so I tried a few more options in place of Shadow Ball. Protect for Choiced Chi-Yu / Flutter Mane, Chilling Water for just the attack drop in case someone really tries to muscle past you, Hypnosis cos why not, and Imprison to prevent rocks. All were kinda meh, maybe Protect closest to useful but I ended up going back to Shadow Ball every time.

This mon ate every physical hit, including super effective ones and tinted lens ones and was one of . I haven't tried the other mons as much/at all so can't say too much for it's ranking, maybe near the bottom of Mid rather than in Low but that's whatever. It does have its flaws tho - VERY PASSIVE. All you can do is pray for some SpDef drops and nothing else. Hippowdon having Whirlwind over it is also a big thing even if Hippo can't touch Corviknight because shuffling through hazards is great even with the drawback of being useless vs last mon.

I think Palossand fits some very niche role over its competitors but it's not a completely overshadowed mon either.

Isn't it a bit too early to write Ace? Well whatever. In terms of the sets MG defensive I don't think is a thing, just slashing the SD in offensive MG with Wisp or Court Change is fine (Ace's bulk isn't real even if invested into + no recovery so I think the set would be terrible anyway). I've never seen Tinted but I guess go for it, U-Turn and Band would still seem like an option on it though. Also where is OPulse? If it's DLand, slash it. Also Life Orb, Band should be there and Will O Wisp and Court Change should be slashed with SD imo (Or you could make an SD variant or non-SD but I doubt it's needed)

Thanks for the set ideas! (And pointing out Flutter was still on the VL, it has been yeeted). Like LordBox said, it’s far too early to write the Cinderace analysis, or honestly even rank it yet; it’s been legal on PS! less than 24 hours. Additionally, when it is time to write, reservations belong here.

While it’s too early for an analysis, we do already have a sample set up, and it is similar to your first set. I don’t see much merit to Tinted Lens or Sheer Force, as they are weaker than Orichalcum Pulse, while Magic Guard may have a niche due to Court Change and much better PP from Flare Blitz. We will see with time!

No sample set for Meowscarada up yet? Well I don't have much experience with it but here's a sample set.

Meowscarada @ Choice Band / Choice Scarf
Ability: Sword of Ruin / Sniper
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flower Trick
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Sucker Punch / Trick / Brick Break / Play Rough

Play Rough hits SlitherWing while Brick Break hits Kingambit btw.

Sample set:
Iron Bundle @ Heavy Duty Boots
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Freeze Dry
- Encore / Taunt
- U-turn

Very similar to the Magic Guard set, but with a more powerful Hydro Pump and a better matchup against Iron Moth at the cost of a bit of power on Freeze Dry and being unable to soak up Toxic and Will-O-Wisp.

loaded dice is busted, heracross can re-live his mega era and even kyurem-Black can be a menace in AG with it

1674281898254.png

Roaring Moon @ Loaded Dice
Ability: Dazzling
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Scale Shot
- Crunch
- Iron Head
- Dragon Dance

unfortunaly, this is the only thing that learns scale shot before home comes out so... is the only thing to recreate kyurem-b i guess.

I would love to see a specially defensive Roaring Moon set in smogdex. This is one I saw that I liked (disclaimer I didn't come up with this):

Roaring Moon @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
EVs: 252 HP / 176 SpD / 80 Spe
Careful Nature
- Crunch
- Roost
- U-turn
- Earthquake

EV spread is to outspeed maximum speed Gholdengo while maximizing special defense. This can be tweaked. Its resistances make it very valuable defensively, and it has good synergy with Corviknight and Gholdengo. Additionally, its great special bulk lets it check a plethora of special attackers, such as Gholdengo, Iron Moth, Gengar, Greninja, Skeledirge, Kilowattrel, Sandy Shocks, etc. It also does not take away many important ability slots for teammates since Vessel of Ruin is not commonly used. Furthermore, its large base attack stat means that it can still be threatening even when uninvested. Crunch is the primary mode of dealing damage, and threatens Gholdengo and other Ghost-type Pokemon. It is obvious why Roost and U-Turn are used. Earthquake damaged Garganacl, Kingambit, and relevant Fire-type Pokemon. You could use something else like Iron Head or Taunt, but I haven't used those so I don't know how good they are.

Basically it is a good check to a lot of the tier's special attackers that synergizes well with some top Pokemon and does not take away important ability slots. It fits well on offense teams well because of its tankiness and access to U-Turn without being passive.

While we are on the topic of updating, we should remove Baxcalibur, Great Tusk, Gholdengo and Houndstone from the VR, and I propose adding Zoroark-Hisui to A or A- for now. I think it definitely deserves a spot on the VR, around the likes of Gengar, another special attacking Ghost that uses Sheer Force. Of course, this might still be too early for it, and if it is I hope you keep it in mind
Removed the yeeted guys; we are planning a full revamp of the VR soon!
The speed tiers table hasn't been updated for ages (since the 14th of December.... nearly 3 months!) So I decided to prune (rid of Fluttermane, Iron Hands, Noivern, etc*) and add some sets (Greninja, Scarf Meowscarada, Barraskewda, Hydreigon... even if it's not on the VR Hydreigon is real I swear!). On that topic actually, Hydreigon deserves to be on the VR (Tatsurigi also works surprisingly well with Specs/NP and has Rapid Spin... for some reason) although this could change depending on shifts in meta, Talonflame though is pretty neat and loses a solid check in WBB Ghold (Somewhere around B- to C+ is probably suitable as they hold small niches but they work well). Hariyama is also surprisingly decent in sweeping frailer balance teams so might be worth mentioning? Also some sets are pretty horribly outdated (Chi-Yu analysis still has Ice Scales mention!) but I assume they'll be worked on, also where MGLO Ace set on SmogDex? .

Ok, I do legitimately think that Greninja should also have sheer force as a viable set, as it's one of the most successful abils that I've used on it.
Example:
Greninja @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Liquidation
- Ice Punch
- Rock Slide
It's one of the best physical sheer force users, and has devastating coverage. These make dents in almost every wall, and really is only stopped by Meowscarada(as is every gren set besides maybe scarf).
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Greninja Liquidation vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 265-312 (66.4 - 78.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Greninja Liquidation vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Garganacl: 603-712 (149.2 - 176.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Greninja Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 124 Def Iron Moth: 564-665 (187.3 - 220.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Greninja Liquidation vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Flutter Mane: 429-504 (136.6 - 160.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Greninja Liquidation vs. 252 HP / 84 Def Tinkaton: 425-500 (113.6 - 133.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Greninja Liquidation vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 688-811 (96.3 - 113.5%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
setting up one sd basically wins you the game, assuming stuff that actually does wall this has been chipped down enough(like donBozo). It pairs especially well with stuff like meowscarada because of its walls almost completely being water type.

GERIATRIC (Ceruledge) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Bitter Blade / Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Shadow Sneak / Will-O-Wisp / Substitute
- Swords Dance / Bulk Up
I feel like while yes, dland and moldy ceruledge are very good sets, there is also smth to be said for mglo. The added boost to shadow sneak and and close combat are big for breaking through walls for it such as regen Dondozo, which gaurenteed eats 2 cc from dland ceruledge but takes 47-55.3% from mglo, regen chomp, which can eat +2 dland cc and eq you back, wbb corv, which can potentially break through a weakened ceruledge after a defense drop from cc with brave bird, and skeledirge, which can eat a sneak fairly well and even potentially two from dland ceruledge even with adamant, whereas mglo two shots gaurenteed even the bulkiest of skeledirge with jolly. Negating things such as potential poison damage, rocks, spikes, helmet, and ofc, life orb, are also great properties of the set and I feel it is smth yet to be looked into enough and has some very strong potential.

will potentially add 2 or 3 more later

Aight screw mglo ceruledge, strong set, but I couldn’t live if I didn’t nom this monster of a set that carried my washed ass all the way to third on ladder.
:sv/ceruledge:
CHEESE TOUCH (Ceruledge) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sword of Ruin
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bitter Blade
- Close Combat
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak

This thing goes ungodly hard I’m ngl. Bitter blade is dumb and allows for insane longevity while packing one hell of a punch. Shadow claw nukes scream tail and dirge and is just great neutral in a ton of matchups. CC is stronger neutral in matchups that don’t have a dirge and outdamages regen on dozo so that’s p nice. Overall, crazy set, do recommend, pls add to list of ceruledge abilities :woo:.

Arcanine-Hisui @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Head Smash
- Flare Blitz
- Flame Charge / Extreme Speed / Wild Charge
- Close Combat
Flame Charge helps enable it to sweep faster and gives it the luxury of being able to afford an Adamant Nature, Extreme Speed allows it to clean up / revenge kill, and Wild Charge hits Quaquaval Super Effectively. Otherwise, standard MGLO breaker Arcanine-Hisui set that works as a Midgame Breaker to dent holes in Corviknight and Garchomp, as well as performing well as a Late-Game Cleaner once its checks have been worn down.

Electrode-Hisui @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Chloroblast
- Thunder Wave

Fast Pivot that threatens Ground-Types out with a strong Chloroblast and also helps to spread status through TWave. Fits on fast-paced offensive teams like VoltTurn that try to keep up as much momentum as possible.

Enamorus (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Moonblast
- Mystical Fire
- Earth Power
- Superpower / Play Rough

Standard Mixed SFLO Enam set that wears down Special Walls with Superpower / Play Rough and 2HKOs / OHKOs the majority of the tier with the combination of Moonblast, Earth Power and Mystical Fire.

Enamorus-Therian (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Triage
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Draining Kiss
- Earth Power
- Iron Defense / Sludge Bomb

Triage abuser set that can either Revenge Kill or Setup late-game to beat offense. Iron Defense helps in its Matchup against Kingambit and Sludge Bomb heavily chips down Unaware Scream Tail, with CM + Draining Kiss being the bread and butter of a Triage Fairy.

Goodra-Hisui @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Ice Beam
- Dragon Tail
- Earthquake

Regenvest Hoodra is a splashable RegenVester that is easier to justify as a team's Regen Slot by virtue of its typing, stats and movepool, soft-checking Iron Moth, Hydreigon, Greninja, Inteleon and many more.

Hoopa @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Psychic / Knock Off

If Glaceon can be tiered on the VR so can this Baby Hoopa attempts to do what Gengar did, but slower and stronger. Knock Off is a boon for Hoopa as it allows Hoopa to remove Assault Vests from the likes of Meloetta and Hoodra and can smack them with a Focus Blast. The justification with using Hoopa is in return for a slow, frail teamslot, you get a very strong breaker that can help clean teams. Hence, Hoopa also finds a home in Sticky Web teams.

Lilligant-Hisui (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Fluffy
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Victory Dance
- Close Combat
- Leaf Blade
- Synthesis

Under the right circumstances, Fluffy Hilligant can clean teams, with it living a surprising amount of physical attacks after 1 Victory Dance. It also has a good matchup against Corviknight, as it can live 2 Brave Bird from +1 and can continue setting up on its face. While gimmicky and unreliable, I believe it can have a solid place in the meta.

Meloetta @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt
- Low Kick
- Psyshock

I dont really need to explain this

Moltres @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost

Im not very sure on the EVs. Should it be 252HP > 252Spe? Otherwise its a bulky pivot that spreads burns and can deal major chip through Brave Bird.

Muk-Alola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Poison Fang
- Fire Punch
- Gunk Shot

Another RegenVester, not sure abt the 4th move here tho.

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Refrigerate
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Tera Blast
- Dark Pulse / Focus Blast

Thundurus-T gets access to BoltBeam coverage at the expense of its Ability, but has Nasty Plot to up its breaking power. RefrigBlast already has a good MU vs 2/5 RegenVesters (Chomp and Moon), while its 4th Moveslot allows it to pick and choose which of 2 RegenVesters to beat (Hoodra and Melo).

Ursaluna @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Triage
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Drain Punch
- Headlong Rush
- Heavy Slam

The Bear. While I know Isaiah doesnt like this pokemon and thinks its bad, I will still argue that it is a very good mon, capable of 6-0ing teams. On BO teams, SD sets are very sketchy but probably work. Heavy Slam can 2hko Unaware Scream Tail and HR hits many things in general.

Here's a sample set I made for Surge Surfer Ursaluna

Surge Surfer Ursaluna

Ursaluna @ Choice Scarf/Leftovers
Ability: Surge Surfer
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Body Slam
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Punch/Thunder Punch/Fire Punch
- Fire Punch/Swords Dance

[Set Analysis]
With a choice scarf, Surge Surfer Ursaluna has a speed of 654, meaning it is only slower than +2 Volcarona with a speed-boosting nature. Ursaluna's massive attack makes it a threat to most of the metagame, even threatening Fluffy Pokemon with Fire Punch. The main issue with this set is being locked into an attack due to choice scarf as both ghost and flying type Pokemon are immune to Body Slam and Headlong Rush respectively. To avoid this, you can run leftovers and Swords Dance for a bulkier set that can OHKO most of the metagame with its strong STAB moves and coverage in one of the elemental punches.

The downside to this set as compared to Triage or Turblaze is its reliance on a Hadron Engine user. Running this with a Hadron Engine user with either Volt Switch or U-turn is a must. Hadron Engine Iron Moth checks the water, fighting, grass, and ice types that threaten Ursaluna with a Hadron Engine-boosted Discharge, Dazzling Gleam, and STAB Fire Blast/Flamethrower respectively. Iron Moth also provides strong special attacks to break through physical walls that Ursaluna may struggle with. Hadron Engine Sandy Shocks is another option. It checks the most prevalent fighting type Pokemon Zapdos-Galar with stealth rocks and Hadron Engine-boosted STAB electric-type attacks as well as breaks any focus sash user to allow Ursaluna to OHKO them. However, its shared weakness to grass, water, and ice types leaves it vulnerable to many of the same threats Ursaluna faces. Electrode-Hisui is another option as its strong grass and electric-type STAB moves threaten water type pokemon like Quaquaval and Volcanion but its lack of bulk means that it cannot switch in many times, making it hard to set up Ursaluna.
Scream Tail also makes a great partner for Ursaluna due to its 4x resistance to fighting types, ability to switch into strong special attackers, and ability to wish-pass to it. Lastly, Ursaluna thrives next to a strong dark type like Meowscarada, Kingambit, or Greninja as they check ghost-type Pokemon like Palossand and Polteageist.
