[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Muk's stellar defensive typing and above average special bulk let it be an excellent special tank and one of the best Pursuit trappers in the tier, capable of providing valuable support to teams by removing threats such as Latias, Chandelure, and Gengar. Knock Off in combination with Alolan Muk's ability Poison Touch can make a deadly combination, as many of its common switch-ins like Swampert and Krookodile are easily worn down when deprived of their item and poisoned. However, Alolan Muk's low physical bulk makes it easily exploitable by physical attackers like Cobalion, Terrakion, and Krookodile, although it does have some methods of punishing them if they try to set up on it. Alolan Muk is also extremely conscious of its health; if it is worn down, it is no longer able to threaten Pokemon like Calm Mind Latias. Also, Alolan Muk's low Speed means that it will almost always need to take a hit before attacking, which makes keeping it healthy throughout the game a somewhat difficult task. The combination of these traits means that Alolan Muk has a decent amount of competition as a Pursuit trapper from more offensive Pokemon such as Mega Aerodactyl, Krookodile, and Scizor, although its good bulk still makes it a staple as a Pursuit trapper.

Moves
========

Pursuit lets Alolan Muk trap and remove Psychic- and Ghost-types like Latias and Chandelure as well as reliably weaken other special attackers like Nihilego and variants of Serperior lacking Substitute + Leech Seed. Gunk Shot is Alolan Muk's strongest attack, and it lets Alolan Muk OHKO Pokemon such as Mega Pidgeot after Stealth Rock and 2HKO Pokemon such as Hydreigon. Gunk Shot is also capable of pressuring Blissey more easily. Alternatively, Poison Jab can be used as a more accurate and more reliable Poison-type STAB attack that takes full advantage of Poison Touch with a combined 51% chance to poison foes. Knock Off is a general utility move that is also Alolan Muk's strongest Dark-type STAB attack; it can remove items from common switch-ins like Swampert and Rhyperior to punish them. Fire Punch lets Alolan Muk threaten Steel-types like Scizor and Klefki on the switch. Shadow Sneak is an alternative option over Fire Punch that lets Alolan Muk reliably switch in and beat Calm Mind Dragonium Z Latias, and it also can be used to pick off severely weakened threats more easily. Fire Blast is an alternative over Fire Punch that can deal more damage to Cobalion, but it does less damage than Fire Punch to Scizor and specially defensive Klefki and is also less accurate.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment with an Adamant nature lets Alolan Muk deal as much damage as possible. Maximum Special Defense EVs with an Assault Vest give Alolan Muk a very respectable amount of special bulk to check threats such as Chandelure and Gengar more effectively. A Brave nature should be used if running Fire Blast so Alolan Muk's Special Attack is not decreased. Poison Touch gives all of Alolan Muk's contact attacks an additional chance to poison foes. Alolan Muk's spread is extremely customizable depending on the needs of the team; for example, it can run a bulkier spread of 252 HP / 112 Atk / 112 SpD / 32 Spe with an Adamant nature, which allows it to outspeed Swampert, take physical hits like Swampert's Earthquake and Cobalion's Close Combat better, and overall take less chip damage.

Usage Tips
========

Keep Alolan Muk healthy in matchups where it can Pursuit trap foes such as Latias and Chandelure, as they can break through it easily if it takes too much damage beforehand. On the other hand, if there are no Pokemon that Alolan Muk will be particularly useful against, it can either be used as a sacrifice or attempt to spread poison and remove the items of foes with Knock Off until it is taken out. Alolan Muk needs to predict carefully against foes such as Calm Mind Latias and Calm Mind Chandelure; for example, if the foe has a boost from Calm Mind, Alolan Muk may want to consider using Knock Off rather than Pursuit for the increased damage output. Be aware, though, that +1 Dragonium Z Latias is capable of breaking past Alolan Muk anyway if it is healthy enough to survive a Knock Off. Sometimes, if Muk is in against a foe that it checks that doesn't threaten the team much, it may be best to let them switch out so that Alolan Muk can hit a predicted switch-in such as Swampert or Scizor with Knock Off or Fire Punch in order to cripple or KO them.

Team Options
========

Pokemon such as Breloom and Infernape that struggle against threats such as Latias, Chandelure, and Gengar heavily appreciate Alolan Muk's ability to Pursuit trap these threats. Breloom in particular is an excellent example, as Alolan Muk can weaken or outright remove a very large number of Breloom's offensive checks while Breloom takes care of Ground-types for Alolan Muk. Setup sweepers like Scizor and Cobalion heavily appreciate the removal of specially offensive revenge killers like Chandelure and Alolan Muk's ability to soften up foes by poisoning them and removing their items. Grass- and Water-types like Celebi, Serperior, Suicune, and Starmie make good partners for Alolan Muk because they can deal with Ground-types like Rhyperior, Swampert, and Gliscor. Checks to Fighting-types such as Chandelure and Doublade can beat foes such as Cobalion and Infernape that exploit Alolan Muk. Wish support from Pokemon such as Sylveon and Alomomola and entry hazard removal from Pokemon such as Mega Altaria, Mantine, and Rotom-C are very valuable for Alolan Muk so that it can stay healthy throughout the match. Volt Switch and U-turn users such as Rotom-C, Infernape, and Scizor can bring Alolan Muk in safely against several of the foes that it Pursuit traps.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Ice Punch is another option over Fire Punch, and it lets Alolan Muk heavily dent Gliscor; however, lacking Fire Punch leaves Alolan Muk defenseless against bulky Steel-types. Explosion can also be used, as it lets Alolan Muk KO or heavily damage a foe and gain momentum for the team when its job of Pursuit trapping is complete, but Explosion also leaves Alolan Muk unable to hit Klefki and other bulky Steel-types.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Attackers**: Physical attackers such as Terrakion, Cobalion, and Mega Aerodactyl can use Alolan Muk as setup bait and force it out with the threat of heavy damage.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types such as Swampert, Gliscor, and Hippowdon can easily take any of Alolan Muk's attacks and threaten it out with their super effective STAB attacks, although most of them are bothered by Knock Off.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Scizor, Cobalion, and Mega Aggron can take most of Alolan Muk's attacks and force it out, but Scizor is eliminated by Fire Punch. Cobalion and Mega Aggron are especially notable, as Cobalion gains an Attack boost from Knock Off thanks to Justified and is not 2HKOed by Fire Punch, while Mega Aggron takes essentially nothing from any of Alolan Muk's attacks.

**Residual Damage**: Alolan Muk needs to be as healthy as possible in order to effectively Pursuit trap foes such as Latias and Chandelure, so residual damage from entry hazards such as Stealth Rock and U-turn users such as Celebi and Choice Scarf Hydreigon can make Alolan Muk rather ineffective at its role.

**Lures**: Pokemon such as Groundium Z Celebi can lure in Alolan Muk and KO it with their strong Z-Moves. If Alolan Muk is somewhat worn down, foes such as Nasty Plot Firium Z Salazzle, Calm Mind Dragonium Z Latias, and Calm Mind Firium Z Chandelure can also take it out.

Overview: "by removing threats such as Latias and Chandelure." "let it check a wide array of special attackers, such as Latias, Nihilego, and Gengar" These are essentially the same sentences. Provide different examples in the first one, or simply stick to Latias, and then say "in addition... ... Gengar, Chandelure, Nihilego".

"although its good bulk gives it a very well-defined niche in the meta." Muk is more of a Staple than a niche.

Other options: this area is really lacking. Explosion and Curse both definitely need mentions, Iappa berry + recycle needs a mention, and a bulkier set that focuses on more overall bulk, without nullifying the point of the AV set, needs to be mentioned:

For Example:

Muk-Alola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Atk / 112 SpD / 32 Spe <-- (Swampert)
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Poison Jab
- Explosion

If you don't know how to word the revamped OO section, pm me on Discord and we'll do it together. but I think you get the gist.

C&C: I want you to mention stuff like U-turn, which is insanely good at chipping Alola-Muk - Think Hydreigon, think even Celebi (on the switch).

Muk also needs to be be wary of dedicated counter play (Z-Earth Power Celebi, Z-Earthquake Latias). Idk how you'd word it, but probably just saying "Powerful Z-moves" would be good enough, idk, feel free to check with the mods of this section Eyan Pak.

[OVERVIEW]

*Alolan Muk is an excellent special tank and one of the best Pursuit trappers in the tier, capable of providing valuable support to teams by removing threats such as Latias.
*Its defensive typing and excellent special bulk let it check a wide array of special attackers, such as Chandelure, Nihilego, and Gengar.
I'd just compress these into one bullet TBH.
*In addition, Alolan Muk is capable of providing additional utility with Knock Off to remove the items of passive foes and Poison Touch to wear down opposing Pokemon over time.
Say something like "Knock Off in combination with Muk's ability Poison Touch can make a deadly combination as many of its common switchins like Swampert and Krookodile are easily worn down when deprived of their item and Poisoned"; it'll give the reader an applicable example of when Muk's strengths will come into play.
*However, Alolan Muk is mostly helpless versus Ground-types like Swampert and Gliscor, and its low physical bulk makes it easily exploitable by physical attackers like Cobalion, Terrakion, and Krookodile
As I stated before, Muk's not exactly helpless vs any Ground that's not Steelix or already poisoned Gliscor since it can cripple them on the switch and such. Mention that Muk has ample methods of punishing them if they do attempt to aggressively set up on it.
*Alolan Muk is also extremely conscious of its health; if it is worn down, it is no longer able to threaten Pokemon like Calm Mind Latias.
*Also, Alolan Muk's low Speed means that it will almost always need to take a hit before attacking, which makes keeping it healthy throughout the game a somewhat difficult task.
*The combination of these traits means that Alolan Muk has a decent amount of competition as a Pursuit trapper from more offensive Pokemon such as Mega Aerodactyl, Krookodile, and Scizor, although its good bulk still makes it a staple as a Pursuit trapper in the meta.

*Pursuit lets Alolan Muk trap and remove Psychic- and Ghost-types like Latias and Chandelure, and it also lets Alolan Muk reliably weaken other special attackers like Nihilego and variants of Serperior lacking Leech Seed.
Just change this a bit, say "Substitute + Leech Seed Serperior" as some variant of Serp with Leech Seed but no Sub would still lose. It's a nitpick but it makes it as coherent as possible this way.
*Gunk Shot is Alolan Muk's strongest attack, and it lets Alolan Muk OHKO Pokemon such as Mega Pidgeot after Stealth Rock and lets it 2HKO Pokemon such as Hydreigon. Gunk Shot is also capable of pressuring Blissey more easily.
*Alternatively, Poison Jab can be used as a more accurate Poison-type STAB attack that takes full advantage of Poison Touch with a combined 51% chance to poison foes.
*Knock Off lets Alolan Muk remove the items of foes such as Swampert as they switch in, and it also lets Alolan Muk deal more damage to Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Latias and Chandelure if they stay in.
This seems a bit fluffy, since we already know Chandelure and Latias will get shredded by Knock Off if they stay in on it. Just note it as a general utility move that makes for Muk's best Dark STAB. Mentioning stuff like Swampert and Rhyperior as common mons that it removes items from, but probably mention it after the basics.
*Fire Punch lets Alolan Muk threaten Steel-types like Scizor and Klefki on the switch.
Mention Fire Blast after this, just saying it does more to Cobalion.

----
*Maximum Attack investment with an Adamant nature lets Alolan Muk deal as much damage as possible.
*Maximum Special Defense EVs with an Assault Vest give Alolan Muk a very respectable amount of special bulk to check threats such as Chandelure and Gengar more effectively.
----
Just change this section to reflect the new EV spread, say the HP and SDef make it noticeably easier to take on its usual Pursuit bait and the rest is dumped into Attack.

*Poison Touch gives all of Alolan Muk's attacks except Gunk Shot an additional chance to poison foes.
*Alolan Muk's spread is extremely variable depending on the needs of the team; for example, it can run a bulkier spread of 252 HP / 112 Atk / 112 SpD / 32 Spe with an Adamant nature, which allows Alolan Muk to outspeed Swampert, take physical hits like Swampert's Earthquake and Cobalion's Close Combat better, and overall take less chip damage.

Usage Tips
========

*If there are Pokemon on the opposing team that Alolan Muk can Pursuit trap, it needs to stay as healthy as possible, so it should not attempt to stay in and use Knock Off against physical attackers.
Say something a bit more concise here, along the lines of"Keep Muk healthy in matchups where it can trap foes such as Chandelure and Latias, as they can power through Muk if it takes too much residual damage".
*On the other hand, if there are no Pokemon that Alolan Muk will be particularly useful against, it can either be used as a sacrifice or it can attempt to spread poison and remove the items of foes with Knock Off until it is taken out.
*Alolan Muk needs to predict carefully against foes such as Calm Mind Latias and Calm Mind Chandelure; for example, if the foe has a boost from Calm Mind, then Alolan Muk may want to consider using Knock Off rather than Pursuit for the increased damage output. Be wary, though, that +1 Dragonium Z Latias is capable of breaking past Alolan Muk anyway if it is healthy enough to survive a Knock Off.
*Sometimes, it may be best to let the foe you are attempting to Pursuit trap switch out so that Alolan Muk can hit a predicted switch-in such as Swampert or Scizor with Knock Off or Fire Punch in order to cripple or KO them.
Make this last sentence a bit more descriptive; if the player reading this is in a situation where there's a Nihilego or something that is very threatening to their team, they shouldn't be letting it escape just to get a Knock Off on Swampert.

*Pokemon such as Breloom and Infernape that struggle against threats such as Latias, Chandelure, and Gengar heavily appreciate Alolan Muk's ability to Pursuit trap these threats. Breloom in particular is an excellent example, as Alolan Muk can weaken or outright remove of a very large amount of Breloom's offensive checks, while Breloom takes care of Ground-types for Alolan Muk.
Just a bit more descriptive here, and plays at Muk's strengths a bit more this way.
*Setup sweepers like Scizor and Cobalion heavily appreciate the removal of specially offensive revenge killers like Chandelure and also appreciate Alolan Muk's ability to soften up foes by poisoning them and removing their items.
*Grass- and Water-types like Celebi, Serperior, Suicune, and Starmie make good partners for Alolan Muk because they can deal with Ground-types like Rhyperior, Swampert, and Gliscor.
*Checks to Fighting-types such as Chandelure and Doublade can beat foes such as Cobalion and Infernape that exploit Alolan Muk.

*Volt Switch and U-turn users such as Rotom-C, Infernape, and Scizor can bring Alolan Muk in safely against several of the foes that it Pursuit traps.
*Entry hazard removal from Pokemon such as Mega Altaria, Mantine, and Rotom-C can be helpful for Alolan Muk so that it can stay as healthy as possible.

Other Options
=============

*Fire Blast can be used over Fire Punch with a spread of 252 Atk / 76 SpA / 180 SpD with a Brave nature, which lets Alolan Muk 2HKO Cobalion. However, staying in on Cobalion is rather risky, and the decreased accuracy over Fire Punch makes it less reliable to use against foes such as Scizor, and it's also noticeably weaker against Scizor and Specially Defensive Klefki.
Take this out IMO, the spread is a little unreliable and you already mentioned Fire Blast (once you make the previous changes).
*Shadow Sneak can be used, which most notably lets Alolan Muk switch into and beat Calm Mind Dragonium Z Latias reliably from full health. However, it leaves Alolan Muk completely defenseless against foes such as Klefki, Scizor, and Cobalion.
*Ice Punch is another option over Fire Punch, and it lets Alolan Muk heavily dent Gliscor; however, lacking Fire Punch still leaves Alolan Muk defenseless against bulky Steel-types.
*Explosion can also be used, as it lets Alolan Muk KO or heavily damage a foe and gain momentum for the team when its job of Pursuit trapping is complete, but like most of the other move options, Explosion leaves Alolan Muk unable to hit Klefki and other bulky Steel-types.
*A set with Knock Off / Poison Jab / Curse / Recycle with Gluttony and an Iapapa Berry can be used, which lets Alolan Muk perform the role of a bulky setup sweeper. However, it is rather heavily outclassed in this role by Snorlax, and this set causes it to give up its ability to Pursuit trap foes.

Checks and Counters

**Physical Attackers**: Physical attackers such as Terrakion, Cobalion, and Mega Aerodactyl can use Alolan Muk as setup bait and force it out with the threat of heavy damage.

**Lures**:Pokemon such as Groundium Z Celebi and Groundium Z Latias can lure in Alolan Muk and KO it with their strong Z-Moves.
Please don't mention Groundium Z Latias, it's real bad. Just mention a couple other things like CM Chandy with Firium Z, Primarina, or Hydreigon can attempt to push past it with a bit of residual.

Nice job, qc 2/3 when you implement this

I disagree with removing Poison Jab as a slash. It has nothing to do with getting the poison more often. The main draw comes from its overall reliability. Yes, you don't hit as hard, but it hits hard enough when you've got enough support for mons like Pidgeot and Hydreigon, which is why you tend to run almost exclusively Poison Jab on stall teams for example. Having enough of a defensive backbone to make up for the drop in power works fine.

I actually think Shadow Sneak deserves more than an OO mention. Move that to the Moves section imo. Like with the above, it's not a half bad option for more defensive teams, since you won't require the Fire-type coverage nearly as much. Kinda iffy about Fire Blast in moves since I've hardly ever seen Alolan Muk using anything but its STAB moves in the first place, not to mention specifically for Cobalion, but leave that for now. Remove Curse + Recycle from OO; that section should be for stuff that's not noticeable enough for the main set while still having some sort of ladder/tournament niche. I can see stuff like Ice Punch and Explosion having some sort of use, but that set just seems straight up outclassed by Snorlax without offering much to set itself apart.

Maximum Special Defense EVs with an Assault Vest give Alolan Muk a very respectable amount of special bulk to check threats such as Chandelure and Gengar more effectively. A Brave nature should be used if running Fire Blast so Alolan Muk's Special Attack is not decreased. Poison Touch gives all of Alolan Muk's contact attacks except Gunk Shot (Fire Blast also) an additional chance to poison foes.

Usage Tips
========

Be aware wary, though, that +1 Dragonium Z Latias is capable of breaking past Alolan Muk anyway if it is healthy enough to survive a Knock Off.

========

Pokemon such as Breloom and Infernape that struggle against threats such as Latias, Chandelure, and Gengar heavily appreciate Alolan Muk's ability to Pursuit trap these threats. Breloom in particular is an excellent example, as Alolan Muk can weaken or outright remove a very large amount number of Breloom's offensive checks, (RC) while Breloom takes care of Ground-types for Alolan Muk. Setup sweepers like Scizor and Cobalion heavily appreciate the removal of specially offensive revenge killers like Chandelure and also appreciate Alolan Muk's ability to soften up foes by poisoning them and removing their items. Wish support from Pokemon such as Sylveon and Alomomola and entry hazard removal from Pokemon such as Mega Altaria, Mantine, and Rotom-C is are very valuable for Alolan Muk so that it can stay healthy throughout the match. Volt Switch and U-turn users such as Rotom-C, Infernape, and Scizor can bring Alolan Muk in safely against several of the foes that it Pursuit traps. Entry hazard removal from Pokemon such as Mega Altaria, Mantine, and Rotom-C can be helpful for Alolan Muk so that it can stay as healthy as possible.

Other Options
=============

===================
