Alvin Greene: "DeMint Started the Recession"

I know Election Day is long past, but I stumbled into something that got me interested, and can be something very interesting for discussion.

Alvin Greene: DeMint started the recession (MSNBC Interview)

In case if you're wondering who Alvin Greene is, he's a South Carolina Democrat who defeated his opponent Vic Rawl despite very little campaigning, which is pretty unusual for a candidate. In the latest election poll results, it was a lopsided victory for Jim DeMint, and yet Greene wouldn't comment much about his defeat. In the world of internet, people consider him as awesome, just not in real life.

After I watched the MSNBC interview (also in the link), I just really don't know what to say. I mean, I wonder how he ended up winning the Democratic primary race when he did little to no campaigning, as stated above? And most of his responses were "DeMint started the recession"...which basically isn't true at all. Others criticize by saying that he was set up, and other people accuse him of being a Republic plant, which can turn out to be true after all. What's even more funny is that he's considering running for President of the United States in 2012. I mean...really?

Not to forget to mention in the past, he was charged with showing pornography to an 18-year old girl at a college campus, and yet he refused to comment on it...

Well, either way, this man is pretty interesting to learn about, and I've never seen any candidate like this. What are your thoughts about this guy?

Meh, nothing new to me. To be honest, I'm trying to avoid any news from the 2010 midterm elections. These candidates are just too batshit, and prop 19 failed :(. You also forgot the part where he said he "didn't know which party he'd run for president as"

Yeah, pretty funny that a 33 year old sex offender who lives with his dad became South Carolina's democratic senate nominee.

I didn't even vote in these midterms, even though I had my absentee ballot and everything. I was too lazy to do research. (What is prop 19?) But it really doesn't suprise me that someone won like this. The majority of the voting population is stupid (hence why we need literacy tests) and/or merely votes with party affiliation and doesn't pay attention to their politics.

prop 19 was California's "Regulate, Control, & Tax Cannabis Act". The only thing that really matters anyway.
