Hi guys, I'm new to Smogon but I've been lurking around these forums for months now. I just recently started to play DW OU Tier on PO because I find it slightly more interesting than standard BW OU because of its variety of different Pokemon. I've been editing this team over the past week and its kinda standard but I wanna see what your opinions are on it. I think I peaked around like rank ~99 with it on PO DW OU which isn't too great so thats why I posted it here so it can become even better. Thanks!

@ Choice Scarf
Trait: Download
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- U-turn
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt (Changed Thunder to Thunderbolt)
Genesect is generally my lead in 90% of my battles. I love its ability to scout out the other team consistently and even take some strong dragon hits from some of the many beastly dragons in OU. The fact that it has the ability Download just makes it all the better because I often get the SpAtt boost, being that most of the meta game is physically defensive at the moment. I put Thunder instead of thunderbolt because everyone and their mother is running a rain team nowadays, and the 100% accuracy and extra base power is extremely helpful in certain situations. BoltBeam is never a bad thing, u-turn helps me scout out the other team for the entire game, and flame thrower is just for opposing genesect, ferrothorn, scizor, (other pokemon that are 4x weak to fire in general). Flamethrower also helps me against sun teams with threats such as venasaur or excadrills on sandstorm teams as it can live a excadrills un boosted earthquake I believe.
vv Thanks to New World Order for this suggested Bronzong to counter some sandstorm threats. vv
@ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Atk / 80 Def / 92 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earthquake
Bronzong was put on the team as New World Order suggested to get up rocks early and to counter sandstorm threats. Landorus cant really touch him because of levitate and scarfed Landorus is even more screwed if he locks himself into earthquake as I essentially get a free turn to either KO or predict the switch. Also this is sort of a pseudo counter to Excadrill as I can just break his balloon with Gyro Ball and then proceed to earthquake him. Bronzong is a great addition either way as he adds some much needed bulk/resistances to my team, as well as the bonus of being a great sand counter.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SAtk / 220 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Charge Beam
I don't see Magnezone that often in the DW OU Tier and I'm wondering why. This thing is kind of a blast from the past and it looks like those Toy Story three-eyed aliens from that catching machine scene lol. Magnezone is a great help to my team because #1 its a steel type so it resists draco meteors, bug moves, gyro balls, power whips (Ferrothorn lol). However, I think the thing that pulled me to Magnezone (see what I did there) was the fact that it has the ability Magnet Pull. I put this thing on my team a couple of days ago, and I already did a couple of clean sweeps with the sub charge beam strategy. Simply switch into a Forretress or Ferrothorn spamming entry hazards, sub on the leech seed/ t-wave, and begin to get as close as you can to +6 spatt. From there, if the opponent cant break your sub, its GG. Even if they do break your sub your usually guaranteed 2-3 KOS. Definitely one of the team MVPS.
@ Choice Band
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fire Punch
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- ExtremeSpeed
Dragonite is on this team because of its absolutely deadly raw power. STAB Banded Outrage is nothing to laugh about. As it can KO just about anything that doesn't resist it. Fire punch is on there because of the many annoying steels lurking around in OU (Ferrothorn, Scizor, Forretress, etc.) Earthquake is a solid 100 BP move and hits electrics, fires, and steels for SE damage. Choice Banded Extremespeed has sweeped a couple of teams for me after most steels were gone and their team was severely weakened. Its a very strong priority with 80 BP and coming from a max attack choice banded Dragonite, its almost always a 2-3 hit KO.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 HP / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Roost
- Roar
Replaced Gastrodon with this as New World Order suggested because it essentially gets rid of my Keldeo weakness, being that Latias resists both its STABs. Also, Latias sports great defensive stats and an immunity to spikes/tspikes (damn you stall). It also acts a phazer and can be dangerous and very hard to take down if I get a few calm minds in. Thank you New World Order for this great replacement.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Recover
I always thought this thing should have a 3rd evolution, just so I could stick a eviolite on it. :happybrain: Gastrodon is basically the weather counter as most of you already know I'm sure. The fact that it has water absorb and its excellent Water/Ground Typing is basically the middle finger to rain dance teams. It can take hits from Thunderus, a huge special attacking threat in OU, and I can switch it in on many of its resistances. Switch it in on Thunderus, ice beam, problem solved. I'm debating whether to use Scald or Earth Power/Earthquake, not sure which is more useful but I've been switching between them for some time now. Storm Drain is such a useful ability because it grants a water immunity and a +1 SpAtt boost. This is especially useful with Scald, already having a 30% chance of burning and crippling physical attackers. Overall Gastrodon is a good SpDef tank and a good counter to most weather teams.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Payback
Conkeldurr is so many things and is just so useful and has great synergy with Reuniclus. This is a typical set for him but after one or two bulkups, its nearly unstoppable with STAB Mach and Drain Punch. DP is on there just to regain HP from taking hits all day, and Mach Punch is on there just to clean up the job and eliminate any Pokemon thinking that they will out speed and 1HKO me. Conkeldurr also doesn't mind status either with Guts, it just boosts his monstrous attack to even further levels. I guess I would consider him the physical tank of the team.
@ Life Orb (Changed TR to CM Set)
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Recover
Changed the Trick Room Set to the Calm Mind set because this team was having severe problems with Stall Teams. This is basically as anti-stall as it gets. Thanks to New World Order for the suggestion.
Ok guys thats my team, I think its pretty good myself as it took a little while to make although it is pretty standard I'll admit. Please give me some helpful suggestions, I am open to them. Thank you again. Rate away! :)
