An OU standard

im going back to a standard team of 6 pokemon no lame gimmicks or over-zealous attempts at being creative. anyways onto the team.

The anti-lead
dpmfa233.png

Porygon2 @ Leftovers
Bold // trace
252 hp // 160 def // 94 sp.atk // 4 speed
Thunderbolt
Ice beam
Recover
Magic coat

i really love playing anti metagame, and i think this guys is as anti-metagame as it gets. he plays well against many common leads, especially gyarados and salamence. magic coat works wonders as alot of leads carry status.

Hammer head of the sahara

Garchomp
Adamant // Sand veil
252 atk // 32 sp.def // 226 speed
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire blast
Stone edge

i saw the crushking thread and really wanted to put this thing to good use. ive always liked nidoking but ive never really had a chance to use him in OU. He really puts the hurt on pretty much all common walls, here are the damage calcs on him.

Nidoking sounded so good on paper, i tested him and he really didnt live up to the wall breaking hype that i fell into. after i decided on nidokings removal i needed a very fast hard hitting preferably physical poke, and ive always been successful with garchomp so he is taking place as my main revenge killer and set-up free sweeper.

Aura wolf
dpmfa448.png

Lucario @ Life orb
Adamant // Steadfast
252 atk // 252 speed // 6 def
Close combat
Extreme speed
swords dance
Bullet punch

lucario is always one of my favorite pokemon to use, wheather it be choice specs or SDluke he always plays incrediblly well. heres the damage calc of a SD bullet punch to min def gengar does 96.93%-114.18%, so generally its a 1HKO.

The Death Pixie
dpmfa482.png

Azelf @ Expert belt
Timid // Levitate
252 sp.atk // 36 Hp // 220 speed
Psychic
Nasty plot
Flamethrower
HP {fight}

Azelf is so devestatingly potent after a nasty plot, hp fight can really hurt blissey. i believe Porygon2 can take care of gyarados before i try and send this thing out. by the way death pixie is a kick ass band name!

Welcome to the Jungle
dpmfa465.png

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Impish // chlorophyl
252 Hp // 228 def // 30 speed
Power whip
Sleep powder
Leech seed
Knock off

tangrowth is a very strong physical wall, and a surprysingly good gyrados counter, even after a dragon dance he cant 3HKO and tangrowth can hit back for roughly 40% back at gyara. and a bit of trivia tangrowth is the only non-legendary pokemon to have 4 stats in the triple digits.

blissey's older fatter brother
dpmfa143.png

Snorlax @ Leftovers
168 hp // 120 def // 220 sp.def
Careful // Thick fat
Curse
Rest
Earthquake
Crunch

I thought i needed a fire and ice resist, but i didnt want to add any more major weaknesses, so i came to the conclusion that snorlax with thick fat.

Well thats the team. please point out any massive weaks, but also suggest something to help it. i'll add a threat list later when i have some time.

ok, look. Porygon2 is a great starter. But without magic coat it is easily beaten by yanmega, bronzong, breloom, and gengar. All of those are in the top 15 leads. Give it magic coat > thunderwave.

You're Fighting weak. Azelf can scare them off, but if he's down... -ouch-. ScarfApe is an example of what I mean. I suggest Crunch on Snorlax to counter Starmie, maybe Gengar, some Azelf & Cresselia. Cressy can last a load of your attacks. Try countering with Tangrowth then Snorlax.
I suggest you Sash Lucario. It can go as your late-game sweeper.
4/5- good :)

thanks for the advice, im considering dropping lax alltogether maybe for cress or another special wall that resists fighting, i thought cresselia but im unsure if having 2 psychics on the team will cause too many problems. thanks for the advice.
