Another Random Strike (OU RMT)

So one day, I sav'd every OU poke I deemed useful. So after weeks of just making random teams, I came across this one that seemed rather interesting. It felt good, seemed stable, and worked pretty nice. So I decided to test it on shoddy, did decently. So here I am, with a RMT. Its an offensive based team, so yea.

celebi.png

Celebi @ Occa Berry
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 80 HP/176 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Leaf Storm
- Thunder Wave
- Earth Power
Celebi is not a very expected lead, but it can be a nice one. So with occa berry, it can take fire hits from tran to either lay rocks or hit it with an EP, and metagross is 2HKO'd by EP. So rocks because suicide lead, Leaf Storm for STAB, and pairs well with EP, T-Wave to get para off and running if I get the chance, although it doesnt provide that much use, any suggestions for that slot maybe? and finally, EP to hit steels like tran and gross, both of which and 2HKO'd, thats if tran has shuca. The evs give it enough speed to outrun +speed base 90s, max sp atk, rest goes in HP for bulk.

infernape.png

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance
Since I wanted a fire type, and I always love ape, and didn't want a mixape, I thought SD ape would be kinda fun. So yea, Flare Blitz provides a good STAB, CC for more STAB, Mach Punch has always been a favorite on physical ape for me, and since I have other methods of killing gyara and mence, its perfect. Plus if my gyara dies, it provides another check for luke and tran. SD for late game sweeping.

gyarados.png

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 156 HP/126 Atk/228 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Taunt
So, looking at what I had, and what I was considering for later, I figured I could use a flier, water type, and something with a bit of bulk. Gyara fit perfectly. The evs are a bit different than normal bulky gyara. When I was using this team, a scarf heatran problem came up (might have been before I had scarf latias), and since normal bulky gyara is slow as hell, I wanted more speed. So I took the defense, and a bit of attack, and made gyara jolly. It hits 280 now, which outspeeds luke and scarftran (after DD), and the HP provides decent bulk still, and plenty of attack remaining. So moves are standard, DD for boosts, Waterfall for STAB, Stone Edge covers most other shit like fliers and w/e, Taunt prevents stall.

jolteon.png

Jolteon (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Signal Beam
So for some reason, I wanted to use a jolteon, since I havent used one in ever, and I wasn't in the mood for rotom or zapdos. So specs didn't sound appealing to me atm, as I see jolteon as a more diverse sweeper. So slapped a life orb on it, and it was ready to go. T-Bolt for STAB, Shadow Ball for ghosts and psychics, HP grass for pert and grounds, Signal beam is more or less filler, but it hits grasses, so cool.

latias.png

Latias (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
- Trick
So at this point, I wanted a latias for no reason whatsoever. At first, I had this as a calm minder, with little success going with it. And I saw that I had nothing scarfed for revenge killing, which is always nice. So I decided to remove specs on jolt and give this a scarf. So draco meteor for STAB, T-Bolt for waters like gyara, Surf for tran and other fire types, trick to cripple walls.

scizor.png

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 184 HP/252 Atk/72 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
Do I even have to explain why this guy is here, hes the number one OU, you don't need a reason. But needed another sweeper and scizor always works nicely. The EV spread is a bit different though. The speed evs give it enough so that it can outspeed 68 speed vaporeon, and anything else that runs up to 183 speed. So BP for revenge killing, U-Turn for strong scouting, Superpower for blissey and steels, Pursuit for ghosts.

So thats it, thanks for any rate.

Shadow ball is redundant on Jolteon, put Charge Beam on there so Jotleon can provide more offensive power to your team and help break down wialls. I might do something a little more in depth after i finish my homework, but this is just a suggestion and not a rate.

shadow ball NEVER is reduntant on jolteon, its movepool is somewhat small,so every move counts, also, its probaly jolteon only way to ohko the likes of gengar(i dont know if t-bolt ohko) and also deal with rotom(resist or take little damage from the other atacks),i also need to finish my homework so later i will see if i can do a rate for this team

rate=ok i am here,i am going to try to help a little with this team, trying to mess a little with infernape and dont let him be a set up bait for mence and gyarados, what i sugest is running stone edge instead of mach punch, the lack of priority hurts, but let those 2 get a DD is far more dangerous, and stone edge is going to do heavy damage after SD(even after intimidate!),about celebi, the enemy need a STAB high powered overheat to take that mini tree elf in one shot,so you might try a lum berry OR leftovers in celebi, lum berry can stop status like sleep or paralyze(but celebi got natural cute,so its a 1 time use to assure SR) and leftovers are for little recover in HP since you lack recover on celebi,i was not a lot of help but i hope those opnions help you a little.

I'm here, and I wanted to show-off with some fancy formatting by the way ;p

Well, the main problem I see here is that this team is quite weak to entry hazards.
  • Spikes - 4 affected
  • Toxic Spikes - 3 affected, no grounded Poison-types
  • Stealth Rock - 5 neutral, the final member being weak
In short - when faced against heavy stall, it can stall you out quite easily with switches and hazards. I would suggest one of the following two:
  • A Rapid Spinner
  • A mixed threat
Since your team is rather fast-paced, I would reccomend a mixed sweeper then a Rapid Spinner. Infernape and Salamence are two great options for this job. Since you already have an Infernape (and Scizor to take out most stall-based-Latias on a stall team - something that most run to stop Ape), why not change it to your usual stall-breaking MixApe?

Infernape @ Life Orb | Blaze
Naive | 64 Atk / 252 SpA / 192 Spd
Fire Blast / Close Combat / Vacuum Wave / (Grass Knot / Hidden Power Ice)

Vacuum Wave lets you keep the ability to check Lucario and Heatran, while the last slot can be what you feel is best for your team. I wasn't sure between both GK and HP, hell, maybe even something else. I think this will help you against stall better than your SD Infernape, as most of the metagame is shifted towards defence, and less towards Special Defence nowadays.

On Celebi, I would suggest Recover on it, as you will need it for later to stop threats like DD Gyara with too many DD's, Lucario and friends. If you don't want to go with that though, Protect (to scout for Explosion), U-Turn (To scout for switches), Reflect/Light Screen, Perish Song (to stop BP chains) and Hidden Power (Ice/Fire) are all viable options, just pick something that you feel you need the most, really.

If you would Change your Celebi from a sucide lead to a sturdy wall, I would suggest this:

Celebi @ Occa Berry | Natural Cure
Timid | 164 HP / 168 SpA / 176 Spd
Leaf Storm / Earth Power / Recover / Stealth Rock

The EV's give you a 50% chance to 2HKO Metagross with Earth Power (exactly), while 176 Speed still outruns Lucario. You can alter the set a bit to counter lead Roserade as well: 104 HP / 228 SpA / 176 Spd with HP Fire over Recover and a Lum Berry attached can counter the sleep-inducing rose to an extent, having just above a 50% chance to 2HKO with HP with the given EVs, but the loss of Recover makes this option a rather useless one. Still, if you struggle against lead Roserades, this can solve your problems.

Jolteon seems to be a bit useless in my opinion, as you already have Latias for special bambardments, and Jolteon is walled by the same stuff - Tyranitar and Bilssey. Instead, you can forego the mix-around with Celebi and just toss-in a Zapdos or a Rotom-A. Both can help you a lot against Lucario and Gyarados (Rotom-A can check Luke with a scarf), and are sturdier additions to your team - something that I think you need somewhere. This isn't a must, just a handful suggestion. The standard sets work nicely. If you don't care about Lucario that much, you can go with ResTalk Rotom-A, as this will give your team a status absorber.

I think that's about it for my rate, without going overboard. lol. Good luck!

Just a nitpick, Gyarados only needs 168 speed EVs when jolly to outspeed +nature base 130s after a DD, which is all it really needs to worry about so take the extra and toss it into HP or Atk, whichever you think you need more.

I will try out ape BT, I always like mixape, and so I'll see how it does for me. Celebi move suggestions are very nice, I will test those too.

Dunno about replacing jolt with the guys you suggested, but who knows.

Well crimson, with latias, I can check both mence and gyara with proper prediction or bait. Ape isnt a solid counter to either anyways, so meh. The item thing for celebi could be considered, I shall see.
