Another RMT

After reading the guides on this site, I feel that my team is inadequate, but seeing as how nobody was able to stand up to this team ingame (probably due to having 6 sweepers) I do not know what to change from my current setup. This is my first team since I broke my Gameboy 5 years ago, so no flaming please. My team was cobbled together with only one word in mind: Diversify. Each member of the team represents what I use them for except for Lucario, who I only use as a fighting type and not a Steel Type.

Ampharos
Item:None
Trait:Static
Nature:Hasty
EV's: None
Moves
1.Light Screen
2.Thunder
3. Thunderunch
4. Discharge

Being a Thunder type, it's no surprise that Ampharos is my counter to Water and Flying types. I chose him because I didn't have a Thunder type on my team and I wanted to get as many types as possible on my team.

Dragonite
Item:None
Trait:Inner Focus
Nature:Mild
EV's: None
Moves
1.Dragon Claw
2.Draco Meteor
3. Earthquake
4. Fire Punch
Dragonite is my trump card. Being Dragon type, he knows Dragon Claw and Draco Meteor for when I'm in a bind. Thunder and Aerial Ace are there to provide defense against the types that cause me the most trouble: Ice and Thunder.

Empoleon
Item:None
Trait:Torrent
Nature:Careful
EV's: None
Moves
1.Surf
2.Flash Cannon
3.Hyrdo Cannon
4.Blizzard

If Dragonite were to be said to be the king of my team, Empoleon would be the prince. I use himas my lead when I have no advantage over the enemy. His part Steel attribute makes most attacks not very effective. His Water type moves are, unsurprisingly, my counter to everything water kills. Flash Cannon is for the STAB against any unfortunate soul that is good against water. Blizzard because why not?

Lucario
Item:None
Trait:Inner Focus
Nature:Adamant
EV's: None
Moves
1.Aura Sphere
2.Dragon Pulse
3.Force Palm
4.Close Combat

Lucario is my Fighting type. His Steel attribute, like Empoleon, defends him against a great many attacks. Though he is steel, I didn't give him any steel moves simply because I haven't been able to obtain any.Aura Sphere in typical situations, but Close Combat for when I'm backed into a corner. Force Palm has been one of Lucario's move for a while now, and I haven't got a good replacement for it, so it stays.

Pidgeot
Item:None
Trait:Keen Eye
Nature:Quirky
EV's: None
Moves
1.Air Slash
2.Wing Attack
3.Quick Attack
4.Roost

Pidgeot is my flying type. He doesn't do much other than use flying attacks. His IV's are below average, and he can hardly slay Grass and Bug pokemon 20 levels below him. He's uselss and I intend on switching him for a Skarmory, but as of now, he is on my team.\

Typhlosion
Item:None
Trait:Blaze
Nature:Quiet
EV's: None
Moves
1.Swift
2.Eruption
3.Flamethrower
4.Lava Plume

Typhlosion is my counter to Grass and Bug types. He is one of the more powerful members of my team if only for his wicked Sp. Attack. He's a bit slow and that at times can get in the way of his Eruption, but hardly anyone survives a Flamethrower, much less an Eruption.

I hate to be harsh, but I doubt this team would be winning many battles. You need to give EVs (I can't stress this enough), and if you didn't train them then your team has an even smaller chance of winning. There really isn't anything specific to say about it because you really need to start from scratch, maybe using Dragonite and Empoleon as your core. Look around Smogon's website and learn a bit more about the game, and then I'd love to help you out. But as it is, this team is kind of beyond help. Sorry.

I'm considering adding Metagross and Skarmory. I don't know what to look for in either of those Pokemon. I'd look around the site, but I have what is quite possibly the worst Internet connection.

I was considering adding Skarmory and Metagross, but I don't know what to look for in them. Would it be possible to link me to parts of the site with guides and such?

EDIT: Sorry about the double post.

Following your advice, I did away with the entire team and have half of a new one.

Metagross@ Occa Berry
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Bullet Punch
Explosion

This guy has varied attacks for all sorts of situations. As my suicide lead, he probably should. He takes out as many as possible and blows up on the enemy when he can fight no longer.

Gengar@ Life Orb
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Destiny Bond
Explosion

Shadow Ball and Focus Blast primarily, but Destiny Bond and possibly Explosion when I'm in a bind. It's a guaranteed KO for whatever beast the enemy decides to throw at me.

Skarmory@ Leftovers
Toxic
Whirlwind
Roost
Brave Bird

Toxic and Whirlwind make a good toxishuffler. His high defense makes him a good tank, and Roost for when he runs low on HP. Brave bird as an offensive move because he needs at least one of those.

These three are good, but what do I add on top of this?

Okay,no offense but the above team was putrid. But that new team in your later post may actually get you somewhere, just add EVs and natures,so far you are fire/ground weak,so I recommend Gyarados,Smogon has several great sets to run on him,but now your electric weak! Oh no! Donphan. He can spin away entry hazards and switch in on Electric moves and EQ,or you can chose Scarf Dugtrio to trap and revenge kill those nasty Jolteons that ruin the fun for your Skarm and Gyara. But now water isn't catching your fancy either,so Zapdos is your next option for it's ground immunity and astounding stats,or Electivire which works great since Gyarados lures Electric Attacks that Electivire benefits from and can then sweep with it's amazing movepool and STAB Thunderpunch,. Electivire is weak to Ground, and that leads us back to Gyarados. And that's how you make a team, thank you, thank you.

IVs, EVs and Natures are a given.

Metagross and Skarmory are both against fire, but only Metagross is weak to Ground and only Skarmory is weak to Electric. You're telling me to fix these weaknesses and I'll be set from what I can gather.

In this forum, we rate teams for competitive battling, which means, EV investement, Iv's and Natures. Lurk around Smogon for a bit, Download Shoddy Battle, Pokemon Laboratory, or Pokemon Online. Pokemon Online is the only one with Gen V pokes, but, if you share my opinion that the metagame was ruined by them, just go download Shoddy Battle. You can create teams in theory, with all Lv 100, adding items, EV's, and natures with just a click of a button, for playtesting. Copy teams online, get used to the metagame, and once you've devised a team you like, post it here.

Swampert@ Leftovers
EVs: 255 HP/127 Def/126 SpD

Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Surf
This guy is my lead. Spray the floor with Stealth Rocks for whoever comes in after the initial opponent, followed by any of his moves to suit whichever Pokemon I'm facing.

dpmfa121.png

Starmie@ Life Orb
EVs: 255 SpA / 255 Spe

Hydro Pump
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Recover
This guy is for whatever comes his way. Recover for when he is weakened. He replaced Moltres.

dpmfa389.png

Torterra@ Life Orb
EVs: 255 SpA / 255 Spe

Wood Hammer
Earthquake
Crunch
Synthesis
A good grass type, most are unsuspecting of his Crunch. Synthesis is good for healing. Especially in sunny day, but that usually spells my doom.

dpmfa462.png

Magnezone@ Choice Specs
EVs: 255 SpA/255 Spe

Thunderbolt
Hidden Power Fire
Flash Cannon
Explosion
Magnezone happens to kill a fair amount of Pokemon and has Magnet Pull. Magnet Pull, when coupled with Hidden Power Fire, is a deadly combo. Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon for whoever is weak to them. Explosion is reserved for when I'm about to die. His EV's are designed to hit the opponent fast and hard.

dpmfa094.png

Gengar@ Life Orb
EVs:255 SpA/ 255 Spe

Dark Pulse
Sludge Bomb
Shadow Ball
Explode
This is about as straightforward as it gets. A special sweeper with all offensive moves. Each of his moves are a different type and of course, able to handle a decent amount of types.

dpmfa485.png

Heatran@ Life Orb
EVs: 255 SpA/255 Spe

Flamethrower
Earth Power
Explosion
Hidden Power Grass
I chose him because he OHKO'ed nearly my entire team twice.Flamethrower and Earth Power normally, but Hidden Power Grass for any ground types who try to EQ Heatran. Explosion to go out with a bang.

Decent for a second try, but certainly you can do better! xD

-You get 1 extra stat point by distributing your EV's such as 252 SpA/252 Spe/ 4 HP. Never know, you might live an attack with 1 HP and you'll thank me.

-And please, put pictures on your RMT to make it look better.

3 Things:

1. Blissey. It's a big threat. Those usually carry Protect, and you will explode and just kill yourself if you're playing against anyone good. It's a sad sad life. =( Gengar explosion will get people by surprise, though
2. Solarbeam as a move in general sucks ass. Add that to the fact that Torterra has shitty Special Attack and good Attack? just stick with Wood Hammer and Earthquake. You should switch your EV's according to this change, with emphasis on Attack and HP, and a smaller emphasis on Speed.
2.5: Don't run Moltres without Rapid Spin support. Just don't. Simply not worth it when you have another Fire-type attacker, and you lose 50% of health just by switching in.
3: Focus Blast over Dark Pulse on Gengar. Dark pulse is simply redundant with Shadow Ball. If you don't like Focus Blast, you can go for Thunderbolt or Energy Ball, but Dark Pulse is pretty bad on Gengar.

Seems like your plan is to overwhelm them with Explosion and Special Attackers. Starmie will fit the bill nicely for you if you desire a strong Special Attacker with Recovery:

Starmie@Life Orb
Timid Nature, Natural Cure.
252SpAtk / 252 Spe / 4 somewhere other than attack
-Hydro Pump
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Recover

Without Moltres, you are not weak to Stealth Rocks, so you don't need the Rapid Spin. Worst comes the worst and your Explosions don't kill Bliss, you should be able to stall with Natural Cure +Recover vs Blisseys.

Hope this helps!

Starmie did help. I improved from killing 2 or 3 pokemon to 4 or 5. I even managed to defeat someone.

somewhat unrelated, but I have a 1-8-0 record.

"...Never know, you might live an attack with 1 HP and you'll thank me."
Thanks.

I added natures and Starmie. That helped so much. Won 2/3 of my battles, up from 1/8
