Anti-Standard team

This team is designed to take down OU threats and winning mainly on unpredictablity and exploiting obscure weaknesses. No OU Pokemon, just BL. (And UU.) (Also, this is for Suspect, because countering Garchomp and Deoxsys-E is hard enough as it its.)

Houndoom @ Focus Sash
Ability: Early Bird
EVs: 40 HP / 216 SpAt / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Counter
- Taunt
- Protect
- Fire Blast

My Anti-Lead. Bronzong is is normally scared to death of Houndoom unless it's Heatproof, which it rarely is. Taunting is pretty obvious, and it works well with Counter. Azelf can't do anything to this either except explode, which my Focus Sash will save me from. Fire Blast is a powerful STAB move, and 2HKOs most leads, besides TTar. Protect is great for scouting and saving it from Fake Outs and Explosion. Early Bird helps me wake up from fast hypnosis users faster.

Lanturn @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 40 HP / 136 SpA / 252 SpD / 80 Spe
Nature: Calm
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Thunder Wave

Special sheild. Starmie's got nothing on this other then Psychic, which isn't on it often. Most waters without Earthquake aren't going to do much either. Pretty self explanitory.

Claydol @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 114 SpA
Nature: Bold
- Rapid Spin
- Shadow Ball
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock

Spinner. SR support. Pretty self explanitory, and Shadow Ball helps do something to those ghosts who stop RS.

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Ability: Clorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Atk / 228 Def
Nature: Impish
- Power Whip
- Knock Off/Rock Slide
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder

Gyarados and Swampert(assuming no Ice Beam) counter. Knock Off is more useful then Rock Slide, but it helps against Gyarados, and can work against something like Zapdos without HP Ice. Sleep Powder and Leech Seed support. I might replace with Torterra, but that 4x Ice weakness isn't all good, and he doesn't make as good of a Gyarados counter.

Feraligatr @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Att / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Crunch

Revenge Killer. Really gets those speedy fragile sweepers who don't expect a scarf. I don't know exactly how fast I need to be to outspeed base 130s, but I know that this does. Ice Punch is great against dragons, and still is good even with Garchomp out of the way.

Hariyama @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 76 HP / 180 Atk / 252 Def
Nature: Impish
- Knock Off
- Whirlwind
- Ice Punch
- Revenge

Knock Off is a load of fun, and when I have 2 Knock Offers, they won't be able to benifit from their items much at all. (Hello there Marowak, let me see that Thick Club there....) Whirlwind stops stat boosts and whatnot. Ice Punch gets good general coverage. Revenge has the same BP as Force Palm, and it doubles if he gets hit, which is OK for Hariyama's defensive nature, and it's slow anyways.

THREAT DOWN

Tyranitar - Hariyama
Gyarados - Tangrowth
Infernape - Feraligatr
Azelf - Houndoom
Electivire - Feraligatr
Jolteon - Feraligatr
Heracross - Hariyama (But barely.)
Salamence - Feraligatr
Togekiss - Lanturn, Feraligatr
Gengar - Houndoom
Lucario - Hariyama, Feraligatr
Ursaring - Hariyama might if he doesn't OHKO. O.O
Starmie - Lanturn
Weavile - Feraligatr, Hariyama
Dugtrio - Feraligatr, Tangrowth
Porygon-Z - Feraligatr
Machamp - Tangrowth
Snorlax - Hariyama
Zapdos - Lanturn, Tangrowth(if no HP Ice and I have Rock Slide)
Suicune - Tangrowth, Lanturn
Breloom - Feraligatr, Hariyama
Ninjask - Hariyama (phazing)
Metagross - Claydol?
Heatran - Claydol, Feraligatr
Celebi - Houndoom
Jirachi - Houndoom/Feraligatr maybe?
Dragonite - Feraligatr
Mamoswine - Houndoom, Hariyama, Feraligatr
Gallade - Houndoom, Feraligatr(sorta)
Yanmega - Houndoom
Roserade - Houndoom
Scizor - Houndoom, Feraligatr

Please comment and critique. Don't suggest any OU replacements either. >___>

I like this team. Put Knock Off over Rock Slide on Tangrowth. If Power Whip can't hit it, you should probably be switching.

Reflect and Stealth Rock are good on Claydol. Cool Houndoom. I think Fire Blast is best, as it'll take out enemy Bronzong's that are trying to EQ you and it's just really powerful.

My friend says that Houndoom's EV spread doesn't OHKO Bronzong with Fire Blast. How many SpAt EVs do I need for that? >__>

Typical Bronzong spread is 252 HP/128 SDef with + SDef Nature, so no way you can OHKO that with even a 252 Timid Houndoom. Actually, even if you had +SAtk with 252 EVs you couldn't OHKO. Overheat can, but you probably don't want to sacrifice that important speed.

Over all this team is really cool, but you seem to rely on Houndoom to counter a lot of stuff. That's kinda hard to do because with Counter and a Sash, he can't come back in at all to take out those vital threats.

Oh well. At least Taunt stops it from doing whatever evil things it wants to do to set up. Then I can just use Counter.

I was considering wish support, but I can't find room for that. At least if Claydol is able to spin away whatever, he might be able to come back in.

Yanmega, Gengar and Roserade are usually starters, so he can still beat them.

I'm going to edit the Threat Down list a little. >__>

You copied my Feraligatr (except the Ice punch bit)!!! XD Well it's okay. That Feraligatr is good with scarf. Gets 'em by surprise. XD

I like your team by the way. Definitely anti standard and unique. Good job. ^^

24 hour bump I guess.

I really want protect on Houndoom to protect against fake outters and explosions, but I don't know what move to get rid of. They both have their uses, but I'm leaning towards running with only Fire Blast...

No dragon resist? well you have two ice attakers
and i would have nasty plot on houndoom
but i love anti ou teams.

I ended up going with Protect on Houndoom. It works wonders.

It saved me from Azelf explosions, Infernape Fake outs, and has been better for scouting.

Reflect on Claydol hasn't helped at all, so I'm chaning that to Shadow Ball to hit Gengar and other ghosts better. >.<

And my team is extremely Celebi weak, as strange as that sounds. Even with Adamant, Feraligatr can't do enough damage to Celebi to stop it from outstalling me with Recover, and if Houndoom's gone, none of them resist his STABs.

wow props for using bl and uu in ou
i was thinking since you might wanna restore houndooms health a bit, you could use:

lickilicky@ leftovers
Bold
Own Tempo
Ev's: 252HP / 128 Def / 128SpD ( not too sure about evs)
~Wish
~Heal Bell
~Explosion
~Knock Off

It could provide wish support and prevent status, then blow up in celebi's face( im not sure of how many evs should go in attack, if any), with knock off to remove items. You could use this over tangrowth, but im not too sure...

Yanmega is a pain for your team... you can't switch in nothing safely: Claydol and Tangrowth will be met by Bug Buzz, Houndoom is fragile and weak to HP: ground, Lanturn is weak to HP: ground and even if he can survive multiple hits Hypnosis will just block it, Hariyama is weak to Air Slash and Feraligatr can't be hit by multiples Bug Buzzes.

Yes, I was looking at common leads when I made Houndoom, and the only one it doesn't counter really effectivly (Besides TTar of course) is Yanmega.

Lickilicky could be an option.... Although without Tangrowth, I can't counter Gyarados effectivly, and without Hariyama, Tyranitar runs through my team.

It's a shame it doesn't learn Rapid Spin. I'd replace it with Claydol then.
