I've been wanting to steer into listening to more rock / metal again as my typical go to genre of pop is in a weird place right now. Throw me alll your favorite rock songs. Pretty pleaseee

This is a pretty basic recommendation (I think), but I'm a fan of Mastodon. Some of my favorite songs are High Road, Oblivion, Steambreather, Teardrinker, Tread Lightly, and Curl of the Burl

Also I just saw that you're from Georgia (I assume the US state, sorry if I'm wrong), and Mastodon is from Atlanta
You'd be correct on the state yes, I think I have heard of them once before but I will also take a good listen to. I want to make a rather long spotify playlist of rock music. Ty for the recommendation!

idk if Godspeed You! Black Emperor counts but peak is peak

I can say that among my current like keep listening to songs are "Amaranth" and "Last Ride of the Day" by Nightwish, "Prophecy of Ragnorok" and "Yggdrasil" by Brothers of Metal, "Stand Up and Fight" by Turisas, "Rock and Stone" and "Together We Rise" by Wind Rose, "Yuve Yuve Yu" by The HU (is Mongolian throat singing metal), and "Bismarck" and "Night Witches" by Sabaton. Granted most of this is Power Metal, but these are just songs I like enough to say maybe you might maybe like them too.

I'm more of an album person, so here are some of my favorite rock albums. I can provide individual tracks from all of these if you want.

The Earth and I is soooooooo underrated, and I highly recommend my two favorites songs from them: I. CGMTC and The Timekeeper

I also really adore Time, The Valuator! This whole album is a work of art, but I especially love Cloud City. Their sound is more like prog metalcore, but I still think it's worth mentioning!

Lastly, Set to Stun is another band I am a huge fan of, and I also think this entire album is amazing because it tells a really compelling narrative with so many layers, especially when it has an unreliable narrator. Highlights include Staria I: Amadeus Rise! and Dead or Alive, You're Coming With Me!
