Captain Nido slowly wakes up to see his next opponent, Yum the Lickitung. Suddenly, Captain Nido seems a lot more aggressive, but before he can do anything, Yum makes a Substitute to protect himself from the Nidoran's Sludge Bomb. Yum hopes that a Mud-Slap will blind Captain Nido and reduce his chances of landing a blow. They both head for Unown Y now, but Captain Nido's Yawn falls on deaf ears thanks to Yum's substitute. Still, at least Yum can't Yawn back.

After Captain Nido destroys Yum's substitute with a well-aimed Sludge Bomb, Yum uses Unown V to Volt Switch the Nidoran, then Disables his Sludge Bomb attack and slams him with a Zen Headbutt all in one swift movement! This has ruined Captain Nido's strategy for the rest of the round and possibly for the rest of the battle!

Captain Nido quickly uses Unown P to Pain Split his opponent, evening the odds until he gets some Muddy Water in his eyes. This followed by a Mud-Slap has completely ruined Captain Nido's eyesight. Nevertheless, he launches a Super Thunderbolt attack, hoping that he can salvage something from this battle with the last of his energy.
