Araquanid @ Custap Berry
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 SpA
Tera Type: Ghost
Modest Nature
- Sticky Web
- Surf
- Bug Buzz
- Endeavor

In fact, this itsy-bitsy spider welcomes all the rain in the world! Ribombee has been the face of Sticky Web hyper offense teams throughout the generation, but Araquanid has recently creepy-crawled all the way up to dethrone the queen bee from its role. What it lacks in Speed is offset by its better matchup against Iron Treads, Iron Moth, and, most importantly, Court Change Cinderace—which is otherwise a huge bane for the archetype—while still maintaining a great matchup against Great Tusk, helped further by running a special set and Tera Ghost for spinblocking. Moreover, its Water Bubble-boosted Surf packs a punch, especially in conjunction with STAB Bug Buzz to sting common Water-resistant foes like Roaring Moon, Ogerpon-W, and Hisuian Samurott; 40 Defense EVs let Araquanid survive two of the latter's Ceaseless Edges. A low-HP Endeavor dents even foes like Dragonite, Kyurem, and Primarina, guaranteed by Custap Berry to compensate for its lacking Speed. The tier's offensive threats pair well with Araquanid; the likes of Kingambit, Raging Bolt, Roaring Moon, Iron Moth, and Gholdengo are some of the usual faces on Sticky Web teams, with Gholdengo also preventing most attempts at removing the spider's Sticky Web.

Ribombee has been the face of Sticky Web hyper offense teams throughout the generation, but Araquanid has recently creepy-crawled all the way up to dethrone the queen bee from its role Ribombee as the face of Sticky Web teams. What it lacks in speed is made up for its better matchup against Iron Treads, Iron Moth, and, most importantly, Court Change Cinderace—which is otherwise a huge bane for the archetype—while still maintaining a great matchup against Great Tusk, helped further by running a special set and Tera Ghost for spinblocking. It's not entirely passive either, as Araquanid's Water Bubble-boosted Surf stings decently hard, especially with STAB Bug Buzz to threaten common Water-resistant foes like Roaring Moon, Ogerpon-W, and Hisuian Samurott, with the 40 Defense EVs being used to survive two of its Ceaseless Edge. A low-HP Endeavor further dents foes like Dragonite, Kyurem, and Primarina, guarenteed by Custap Berry's one-time priority boost that would otherwise shrug it off if you can somehow find enough space to fit custap's potential use in getting a low hp webs back up thatd be cool.

Mostly changed the EV section to distinguish that only Samurott is using ceaseless edge. Good job!

Ribombee has been the face of Sticky Web hyper offense teams throughout the generation, but Araquanid has recently creepy-crawled all the way up to dethrone the queen bee from its role. What it lacks in Speed is made up for offset by just a suggestion here but I think it flows better its better matchup against Iron Treads, Iron Moth, and, most importantly, Court Change Cinderace—which is otherwise a huge bane for the archetype—while still maintaining a great matchup against Great Tusk, helped further by running a special set and Tera Ghost for spinblocking. Moreover, its Water Bubble-boosted Surf packs a punch, especially in conjunction with STAB Bug Buzz to sting common Water-resistant foes like Roaring Moon, Ogerpon-W, and Hisuian Samurott (RC); (ASC) with 40 Defense EVs to let Araquanid survive two of its the latter's Ceaseless Edge Edges. A low-HP Endeavor dents even foes like Dragonite, Kyurem, and Primarina, guaranteed by Custap Berry to compensate for its lacking Speed.
