ORAS UU Archeops, The Jesi Of Leads (Hyper Offensive)

Herro, welcome to my fourth RMT!
I made a pretty cool Hyper Offensive team with Archeops and wanted to show it to ye.
It has been doing well on ladder but I'm only mid ladder 1400s right now since I don't have luck.
Hope you enjoy!
By the way this is my first Hyper Offensive team so criticism is appreciated.

The Team:

You're Extinct (Archeops) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Endeavor
- Taunt
- Head Smash

Archeops is an extremely cool underrated Pokemon I wanted to try out because I knew based off its moveset that it had alot of potential and niches over other leads. Stealth Rock is a move needed on all teams as it can easily weaken opposing teams while being able to break sashes. Endeavor is an extremely good move basically allowing me to weaken any mon on the opponents team to 1 HP easily revenge killing it afterwards. Taunt is essential to stop things from setting up on this and setting their own hazards up, also prevents status moves that would break sash. Head Smash may seem like a strange choice but its needed to stop things like Forretress or Tentacruel from revenge killing you with spin at 1 HP. In a nutshell, Archeops is a really good lead for this team and an amazing mon overall.

You Can Do It! (Azelf) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball/Thunderbolt
- Nasty Plot

I don't have much experience with Hyper Offense yet, but I knew Azelf is a great mon on there. At first I used Life Orb Azelf but then after some battles realised Sash suited this team better. Psyshock is your standard stab coverage move that also lets me tackle spdef mons better. Fire Blast lets me hit Steel types for alot more damage allowing me to get some easy kills without any Nasty Plots up. Energy Ball lets me hit bulky waters like Suicune for big damage. You can use Thunderbolt too but its not recommended now that Bird Jesus is gone. Nasty Plot is my setup move and allows me to get some nice sweeps if used correctly. In a nutshell, Azelf is a really strong special attacker and revenge killer for this team.

Sensei-Senpai (Mienshao) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

I know that all Hyper Offensive teams want to have a high speed tier, so I thought of Scarfed Mienshao. Mienshao is a very strong and fast fighting type that can easily revenge kill alot of mons and get some easy late game sweeps with High Jump Kick. High Jump Kick is Mienshao's strongest fighting stab, and when combined with Reckless, can do a hell of a lot to any mon. Knock Off is a spammable move any mon can run that lets it hit Psychic types and Knock Off opposing threats' items. U-turn lets me hit things that easily come into Mienshao like Defensive Salamence, and pivot out into a mon that can beat it. Stone Edge lets me revenge kill +1 Salamence, and has some good coverage for some late game spam. In a nutshell, Mienshao is the fastest mon on my team capable of tossing opponent's on their neck.

Ban Me U Fks (Mamoswine) @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash

Mamoswine is, in my opinion, the scariest pokemon in our current meta. He is an extremely strong physical attacker, with coverage that can smack pretty much anything it wants. I wanted priority on my team, and something to stop Volt Switch Spam from common mons like Heliolisk. Ice Shard gives me a spammable priority attack that can revenge kill lots of mons. Earthquake is a stab ran on any physical ground type that gets great coverage combined with Icicle Crash and Ice Shard. Knock Off again, is a spammable move that gets rid of opposing items and can scare out mons like Slowking and Reuniclus. Icicle Crash is Mamoswine's strongest Ice stab that has a good chance of flinching which can come in handy at times. In a nutshell, Mamoswine is my strongest physical attacker capable of putting dents in opposing teams.

houndoom_by_art_by_hakeem-d6xv6kt.jpg

Hades (Houndoom) @ Houndoominite
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sunny Day
- Solar Beam
- Fire Blast
- Dark Pulse

At this point I instantly lost to fire spam. I wanted to use Chandelure but also wanted to keep the speed of the team high. Then I thought of Houndoom. Sunny Day is a cool move. When Mega evolved Houndoom gets Solar Power which increases his moves strength by 1.5x but takes away 12% of his hp each turn. This means Fire Blast gets doubled in power after Sunny Day. Solar Beam is the only reason why Sunny Day Houndoom should be ran. It allows me to have another way of hitting bulk waters with severe damage. Fire Blast is Houndoom's strongest spammable stab, that in sun, doubles in power causing some serious injuries. Dark Pulse is Houndoom's other spammable stab that lets me hit most things Solar Beam and Fire Blast dont hit, like Chandelure. In a nutshell, Houndoom is a pretty cool offensive special attacker that stops my team from being shredded by things like Scarf Chandelure and Entei.

Duoforce (Doublade) @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
- Iron Head
- Sacred Sword

Last but most certainly not least is Doublade. I looked back over my team and realised that I literally lost to Stone Edge spam and Fighting Spam. I picked Doublade because it helps vs both ,gives me a physical setup mon, extra priority and adds some bulk to my team. Swords Dance is needed for doing some work with Doublade late-game. Shadow Sneak is a spammable stab priority that is needed on Doublade. Iron Head is Doublade's main spammable stab that hits alot of things like, Mega Sceptile, Florges, Mienshao, etc. Sacred Sword lets me hit steel types for harder damage and stops Curselax in its tracks. In a nutshell, Doublade is necessary for stopping me to instantly losing to spam and for a strong physical late game cleaner.

Threat List:

Stealth Rock:
Stealth Rock is annoying for all HO teams, usually you can stop it with Archeops since alot of people tend to lead with their Stealth Rockers, but other times your not going to be that fortunate.
Scald:
Scald is the most irritating move in Pokemon but its what most Water types need to be good. However for my team Scald Burns can be very dreadful. #BringUUNoScaldBack

Those are the main threats I've found so far, besides the obvious offensive monsters like Rhyperior, but HO doesn't have time to run counter for those.

Thanks for reading. Please leave a comment :]

Hey man, cool team and I'm always a big fan of Hyper Offense. I have two main changes that I think will fix a lot of the issues you are currently having with the team. The first main change is to switch Archeops for Whimsicott. Like you said yourself, Scald is a bitch to deal with and this at least gives you a fighting chance versus Scald spammers. It also gives you a decent response to Feraligatr whose SD set can abuse the shit out of the team if it sets up on a weakened Doublade. Since you lost your rocker with that last change, the logical answer is to either throw rocks on Azelf or Mamoswine, which are both solid options so I'll let you decide. Some other quality of life changes would be DGleam on Azelf and either Protect, NP, or Flame Charge on Houndoom while replacing Solar Beam with something else.

Sounds cool but I simply cant do that, the whole objective of the team is to show Archeops' potential.

You have some pretty heavy issues with bulky waters (namely suicune who is kill), hazardstack is DIE, and doublade as a sole bird/fairy check is doable but you really lack the offensive pressure to capitalize on it. You have some synergy issues as well but fixing those would require more changes than I'm willing to make.

Bulky SD Toxicroak > Mienshao: Croak takes on waters not packing a super effective secondary typing (pert, gastro, seismi, king) and synergizes really well with fren archeopsticks (who loves to endeavor mamoswines). It also takes a lot of pressure off of doublade by chewing up bug hits and providing a secondary normal check.

NP+ taunt megadoom, you have no room for defog or spin without massive changes to the team so here's more taunt. It's also just a good moveset imo

NP + taunt azelf, no shenanigans allowed.

Slurpuff > mamoswine. Yeah this is a weird one, put simply you have no way to deal with hydrie at all with 3 mons it swaps in on. Free setup from puff can discourage the draco spam in general that haunts your team by acting as an "I win" button if hydrie ever kills one of your dudes when his team is at sweep %. Which should be pretty easy to set up TBH given you now have triple taunt + Threats.
