Are there any Pokemon you just won't ever use?

For me, yes. Some Pokemon are so incredibly over used, standard and boring that I could never be bothered to raise/train/use one. I always like to be unique in multiplayer games and use the characters who aren't over used(i.e. I could never use Fox or Marth in SSBM). I know that this decreases my chances of winning and being succesful, but its just a game. If it takes being boring and doing what everyone else does to win, I won't play(like snaking in Mario Kart). I just want to have fun! Using boring Pokemon to me would not be fun, win or lose.

The following Pokemon I could never be bothered to use:

Bronzong
Blissey
Cresselia
Garchomp
Metagross
Salamence
Snorlax
Suicune
Swampert
Tyranitar
Any Legendary/Event Pokemon
 
I'm not seeing how it's necessarily "less fun" to use popular pokemon. I can see someone, say, taking a break from using Blissey because it's been on 9/10ths of their teams, but never using it just because it's a quality pokemon?
 
I really don't have any irks against popular Pokemon, or using them (heck, I don't have irks against a lot of that stuff, my mains are Marth and Fox in SSBM =P), but that's probably because, overall, I'm new to the advanced gameplay of Pokemon and even the metagame itself. Until just about now, I thought Pokemon was all about using Hydro Pump and Blizzard until the opponent's dead. I bet by the time 5th gen comes around I'll be done and tired of using all the staple Pokemon, but, for now, I'm pretty content with them. Anyways, with the new system, there's a ton of OU and Borderline Pokemon around. These guys aren't nearly as godly as they used to be.
 
there's a lot of pokemon i dislike to the point of not wanting to use them, but most of them suck anyways so it doesn't really matter. however a few of the good ones are: blissey, brozong, cresselia, milotic

i never liked those from the first time i saw them. they're not cool or fun to me at all, so i just never bothered with them. and besides, i don't care how good it is, i'm not using some fat, pink, frilly thing
 
Yeah, I'm just like that, also. Thats why my team includes a Hippowdon, a Gardevoir, and a Relicanth, to name a few.

BTW, my best characters in SSBM are Pichu, Roy, and Young Link. :)
 
I tend to avoid VERY overused Pokemon and just go with what I like. The only OU Pokemon on my team are Heracross (which is my second-favourite Pokemon), and Dragonite (which is my third).

But yeah, I'm also very against various whored out Pokemon, but it's not like that's anyone's fault- Obviously they work, but also they could just actually like that Pokemon, and as such I wouldn't say it's fair to judge them.

Oh yeah Blissey does see too much play in my eyes so I dont use her.

And the calling of Blissey a "Fucking Fat Pink Whore", made the 10 year old inside me giggle

I preferly don't like using super OU pokemon, but Blissey has grown on me, Tyrantiar is my all time favorite, and Salamence remind me of a evil frilled lizard so those OU guy are alway welcomed on my team but that's not the part really.

I never used think of using Luvdisc, Chimecho, a few OU pokemon that I have grudges on *stare at Infernape*, and worthless weak pokemon.
 
Use in what way? Competitive battling, or in the game, or other purposes?

Now if we are talking about ingame, then I'll use a Linoone for Rare Candies and being a great HM whore. HM whoring is the only reason that I'll even go near Bibarel.

But with competitve battling, I still haven't really jumped on the Garchomp train yet (even though I did trade for one). I don't know...it's like, I have Salamence and Flygon, I really don't need Garchomp that bad.

I'll use anything, but I don't want to choose things specifically for "winning purposes", cause then the fun is gone. Blissey and Cresslia are definitely the best special walls, but I've also had some fun with Milotic and Ludicolo.

I think that your mentality is far too restrictive for me to ever espouse, so to answer the topic question, I'd say "No."

Salamence (for example) is a cool-looking Pokemon, one of my favorites. Originality is cool and all, but (rhetorical question) why should I restrain myself from using a Pokemon I like just because everyone else is using it?

And I really don't have strong feelings about most Pokemon. Blissey is not a "fat, ugly whore," it is a Normal type Pokemon with high HP and Special Defense that happens to look like a frilly pink blob. Doesn't bother me...
 
Seeing as how the game is a lot more fun when I win than win I lose, I try to win. That means I pick the best pokemon I can. I come from the competitive fighting game scene, where tiers are an accepted fact of life. As a competitive gamer, my goal is to win.
