Are YOU using CBvile?

To be sure to kill a pokemon which has Counter?
I really don't think you understand how Dragon Dancers are used.

Bringing it in and dancing early game is a fairly useless endeavor that will lose you a turn and possibly get you hurt pretty badly. There's no way you'll ever be able to dance more than twice, most of the time more than once, due to the fact that all dancers, while not fragile, have some massively common and easily exploited weaknesses. Thus, you save it for the late game, when everything is somewhat damaged, and then after a single dance you can take down just about everything that's left, even the stuff that would otherwise be a threat.

Talking about "what ifs" like being able to dance more than twice is pointless because it will never happen against an intelligent adversary.

Expert Belt is like one of my favorite items to abuse. It does wonders on fast sweepers like Weavile.

Weavile @ Expert Belt
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/6 HP
Nature: Jolly (Spd+/SAtk-)
- Night Slash
- Ice Punch
- Brick Break
- Aerial Ace

Expert Belt is an awesome item for something with this kind of type coverage. 1.2x on any super effective move with no bad effect is nice for something with Weavile's abilities.
Mmm... that is pretty nice =P does it add 1.2x on to the super effective, or does it make the super effective 1.2x more powerful than if it had been a normal hit?

Personally I think Pursuit on CB Weavile is way, way too awesome to pass up, given STAB, his speed and its near-broken nature. I also think I would rather smack things like Gyarados and Swampert, pokemon you can't SE, a little more decisively on the switch in, and even Rhyperior who will not feel threatened by the prospect of an Expert Belt Ice Punch at all.

Anyone know how to breed pursuit and ice punch on to Weavile? It can only learn Pursuit through D/P btw. I was thinking maybe a Hitmonchan with icepunch and pursuit, but I don't think those two can breed.

Ok, just realized Smeargle can do it. Any other possibilities though?

Ice Pebble/English name is kind of cool but there are a lot better things for Weavile to do.

I'm seriously thinking about using a CBvile, or just Weavile in general, but I'm not sure as to which is Ice move is worth using: Ice Pebble/Shard or Ice Punch?

I ask because the only Poke that I can see warranting the use of Ice Pebble/Shard, off the top of my head, is Aerodactyl at the moment.

Weavile's CB'd Ice Shard actually fails to guarantee a OHKO on Aerodactyl:

Weavile [558 Atk, Ice Shard] > Aerodactyl [186 SpDef, 302 HP]: 260-306 damage = 86-101% damage.

Zangoose can learn both Pursuit (Level Up) and Ice Punch (Emerald Tutor) in Advance, and it's compatible with Weavile (Ground egg group).

I think this is the only other possibility. Like Weavile; Furret, Slaking and Ambipom both can learn Ice Punch in Emerald but have Pursuit as an egg move. The other Pokemon that can learn both moves - Hitmonchan, Snorlax, Dusknoir, Metagross, and Deoxys - are all incompatible or don't breed.

If I ever use Weavile, it will have expert belt, but nothing like the movesets so far proposed. The main reason is that Weavile hates switching in with spikes and stealth rock around. At least with expert belt, you have some flexibility; you might even catch your opponent off guard because they expect CB.

Weavile
~ Jolly/pressure @expert belt
Ice punch
Pursuit
Ice Shard
Brick break

Expert belt ice shard OHKOs Salamence 100%. Adamant is a viable alternative.

I'm thinking about using this weavile as a starter:
Weavile @Lum Berry
Adamant ( 252 speed 252 attack)
Ice Punch
Pursuit
Brick Break
Swords Dance

If My opponent uses a AS gar he has 2 options:
1) Switches. Gar is killed by pursuit.
2) Stays. Gengar has nothing that could OHKO weavile ( except focus bomb....but its a 70% acc move and I feel like gambling.) and if it uses hypnosis , lum berry saves me. Non SD/Cb pursuit does 80%-94% , so it will be hard to switch gengar in later , with stealth rock and probably sand storm.

It outspeeds chomp so I can OHKO it with Ice Punch or predict and pursuit him. Same goes to t-tar , who gets OHKOed by BB. I'm guessing that salamence can't survive either , even after intimidate.

Azelf, sceptile , alakazam, jolteon, other Weaviles and Aero may/will outspeed it tho...Well azelf dies against weavile anyway, and so does sceptile , Alakazam ( gambling against focus bomb is fun) , jolteon ( if he thunder waves, lum berry is there ....I don't know if AG jolty can KO weavile tho , if anyone is willing to calc it).
You'll need to run from Aerodactyl , jolly weaviles and infernape. Maybe swampert as well , if you think that it has stone edge... If it doesn't , SD on the stealth rock and 2hko.

After some setup , you can come in again and SD , then pwn the rest of the team.

Just use Expert Belt/Life Orb over Lum Berry as then Weavile will probably OHKO with pursuit even if Gengar stays in. It also outspeeds fairly easily.
