Ariados > Entei apparently [RMT]

Fun fact of the day: More people use Ariados than Entei. Go look it up.
I know I post a lot of RMTs here, but the others have all died. I'm not totally clear on the rules but I think it's OK to have multiple RMTs so long as only one is active. If not, sorry and feel free to lock this thread =P
I can happily say that I have never used 5/6 of these guys on any of my teams. Yay for trying new stuff!

The Team
dpmba376.png
ChoiceBand.png

252 HP / 236 Atk / 12 Def / 8 Spe
Adamant | Clear Body
Earthquake
Meteor Mash
Pursuit
Bullet Punch

You know, battling competitively has really opened me up to a lot of Pokemon I would otherwise hate. Metagross has kinda grown on me and I've faced it enough times to know what a force it can be.
Swapped Explosion (which hasn't been useful at all so far) with Pursuit, which I feel will get more use.
dpmba472.png
Leftovers.png

252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Impish | Sand Veil
Aerial Ace
Ice Fang/Earthquake
Roost
Taunt/Knock Off

A solid Heracross counter, and can take on some dragons with Ice Fang. Earthquake hurts more on most Pokemon however. Knock Off is broken, but awesome nonetheless. Taunt is useful too; I'll test both.

dpmba251.png
Leftovers.png

252 HP / 226 Def / 32 Spe
Bold | Natural Cure
Calm Mind
Grass Knot
Psychic
Recover

Celebi counters a lot of things everyone else cannot. Also attracts even more Fire moves so Arcanine can trot into the arena and laugh as it gets a boost.
Changed the EVs and nature around, I'll think about using Leech Seed somewhere.

dpmba059.png
LifeOrbSprite.png

228 Atk / 188 Spe / 92 Sp Atk
Naive | Flash Fire
Flare Blitz
Overheat
ExtremeSpeed
Hidden Power [Ground]

A personal favorite of mine. Takes Fire for Celebi, Bronzong, and Metagross, then slams everything it can with its own boosted Fire moves. Extremespeed is always useful, and HP Ground allows Arcanine to function as a sort of Heatran counter provided it switches in on a Fire Blast.

dpmba134.png
Leftovers.png

252 Def / 188 HP / 68 Sp Atk
Bold | Water Absorb
Wish
Surf
Ice Beam
Yawn

Passes Wish to Arca who dies very quickly to recoil, as well as anyone else who needs it. Surf/Beam allow Vaporeon to counter more things, and Yawn is there because nothing else has a sleep move and it does help with Wish. Considering Sub/Pass as well, but I don't know how that would fit in.

dpmba437.png
Leftovers.png

252 HP / 152 Atk / 8 Def / 96 SpD
Relaxed | Levitate
Grass Knot
Earthquake
Gyro Ball
Stealth Rock

Grass Knot is a weird choice, but there for countering purposes (although by now I honestly can't remember what it was supposed to hit). EQ/Gyro Ball are standard, and Stealth Rock is always nice to have down.

Threat List

This list includes all BL/OU Pokes, just 'cause. I also had a look at all the UU Pokemon and most are dealt with pretty easily. Cacturne and Nidoking are a little iffy though. Note that I spent several tedious, boring hours on this, so it's sloppy and prone to mistakes most likely >>

Abomasnow: Metagross/Celebi (sort of)
Aerodactyl: Bronzong/Gliscor/Vappy?
Alakazam: Celebi/Bronzong/Vappy perhaps
Ambipom: Bronzong/Metagross/Gliscor
Arcanine: Arcanine/Vaporeon
Articuno: Bronzong
Azelf: Metagross
Azumarill: Not sure, but Vaporeon can switch in on Choice Aqua Jet/Waterfall, then set up
Blaziken: Vaporeon
Blissey: Arcanine/Gross can seriously maim it, and Celebi can absorb status. Blissey is hella annoying though.
Breloom: Celebi
Bronzong: Vaporeon/Bronzong
Celebi: Metagross
Charizard: Vaporeon. Arcanine can utterly destroy Bellyzard by switching in on a Fire Punch and then using ExtremeSpeed
Cresselia: Metagross
Crobat: Metagross/Bronzong
Deoxys-E: Metagross
Donphan: Vaporeon/Celebi/Bronzong
Dragonite: Vaporeon
Drapion: Metagross/Gliscor
Dugtrio: Lolwut
Dusknoir: Arcanine works somewhat like Heatran in absorbing Will-O-Wisps, and there's always Metagross.
Electivire: Bronzong
Empoleon: Celebi I guess
Entei: More people use ARIADOS than Entei. Thus I will list my Ariados counters here instead: everything
Espeon: Metagross
Exeggutor: Omg, I get it now. Executor. Hahaha. I never noticed that. Arcanine does OK, so do Bronzong and Metagross.
Feraligatr: Celebi
Floatzel: Not sure, but Vaporeon hits it for neutral after Rain Dance and absorbs Water moves
Flygon: ScarfGon is handled somewhat well by Bronzong
Forretress: Vaporeon/Arcanine if it avoids EQ
Gallade: Gliscor
Garchomp: Vaporeon
Gardevoir: Arcanine loves WoW, and Celebi can take most attacks as well as status.
Gengar: Bronzong/Metagross
Gliscor: Vaporeon
Gyarados: Celebi
Hariyama: Celebi
Heatran: Vaporeon/Arcanine switching in on Fire Blast etc
Heracross: Gliscor
Hippowdon: Vappy says 'sup. Celebi gets Grass Knot to kill it, too, and Bronzong tanks its attacks pretty well.
Honchkrow: Not sure
Houndoom: Vaporeon/Arcanine can eat Flamethrower/Fire Blast/WoW
Infernape: Vaporeon
Jirachi: Metagross/Bronzong unless they're using my Jirachi set =)
Jolteon: Bronzong/Metagross are probably my best bet here
Jynx: Metagross/Bronzong
Kingdra: Celebi/Vaporeon
Leafeon: Bronzong/Metagross
Lickilicky: Metagross
Lucario: Celebi/Gliscor
Ludicolo: Celebi
Machamp: Celebi/Gliscor
Magmortar: Not sure; Arcanine does love a Flash Fire boost though and can kill Mag easily enough
Magnezone: Magnezone is worrying, but if it tries to trap Metagross it's going to die.
Mamoswine: Bronzong
Marowak: Bronzong/Arcanine takes Fire Punch/Celebi rev kills happily
Medicham: Celebi
Mesprit: Bronzong/Metagross can Pursuit
Metagross: Bronzong
Milotic: Ice Beam stings, but Celebi is fine
Miltank: Bronzong/Metagross
Mismagius: Not sure
Moltres: Arca takes any Fire moves, Air Slash won't do much to Metagross/Bronzong
Ninjask: Arcanine has a priority move
Porygon-Z: Metagross
Porygon2: How does one counter Porygon2? I've honestly never faced one of these in battle and the analysis page doesn't help much.
Raikou: Celebi
Rampardos: Attack.
Regice: Metagross
Regigigas: Celebi can CM and kill this insanely heavy beast with Grass Knot
Regirock: Bronzong
Registeel: Dunno
Rhyperior: Bronzong
Roserade: Metagross/Bronzong
Salamence: Gliscor/Bronzong maybe?
Sceptile: Bronzong (vs Banded/Physical Attacker), Celebi (vs SubSeeder--then I switch to Arcanine who can take any attack, especially the likely HP Fire, and gets ExtremeSpeed + Fire moves)
Scizor: Arcanine
Shaymin: Arcanine
Shedinja: Arcanine
Skarmory: Arcanine
Slaking: Bronzong
Slowbro: Celebi/Metagross can Pursuit
Slowking: Celebi/Vaporeon/Bronzong
Smeargle: Arcanine with ExtremeSpeed
Snorlax: Metagross
Spiritomb: Metagross lures in WoW (but can't switch in on it), which Arca then takes happily.
Staraptor: Bronzong
Starmie: Metagross/Celebi
Steelix: Vaporeon
Suicune: Vaporeon, not that it can do much back/Maybe Celebi
Swampert: Celebi
Tangrowth: Arcanine/Celebi
Tauros: Bronzong
Tentacruel: Metagross/Bronzong
Togekiss: Bronzong
Torterra: Celebi/Bronzong
Typhlosion: Switch to Arcanine on the starter set as EruptionScarf is very likely.
Tyranitar: Gliscor/Bronzong?
Umbreon: Metagross
Ursaring: Bronzong
Uxie: Metagross Pursuits, Celebi sets up
Vaporeon: Celebi
Venusaur: Metagross/Bronzong/Celebi
Weavile: Bronzong/Metagross
Weezing: Arcanine
Yanmega: Either Steel
Zangoose: Not a big threat; Arcanine kills the Swords Dancer easily with ExtremeSpeed and likes Fire Punch, otherwise Steels are fine
Zapdos: Celebi (sort of)/Gliscor (without HP Ice)

Current win rate on Shoddy: 10 wins, 2 losses

I was concerned about how you beat Heracross and then I saw you say you don't know how. So Here are some pointers and stuff to give you an easier time. First of all Ditch Bronzong or Metagross, 2 pokemon with same typing is never a good thing. SDLucario seems to be big trouble for this team. So I say add in a Gliscor over Bronzong. Most of your team handles ice very well anyway. Celebi should also perhaps have Leech Seed and run 136 Spe to beat Heracross if Gliscor goes down. I am not a fan of Ambipom as a lead, just because he can beat by Gyarados and company too easily. And with Gliscor and Metagross maybe CBTar can fit better? Just make it survive LO Focus Blast from Gengar. But that is your choice if you want the SS or not.

Hope I helped

Thanks for the quick and helpful rate!
I thought so at first too, but having three Fire weaks means a lot of things are going to try and use that to their advantage, only to be met by a waiting Arcanine.
How about using Metagross as a lead and swapping Ambipom for Gliscor? I feel like Ambi doesn't accomplish much, whereas Bronzong can take on a few things Metagross can't because of Levitate and better Sp Def, and again will help Arcanine sweep.
Leech Seed on Celebi is good, but what should it replace?

(EDIT: I made the Ambipom/Gliscor swap)

if you switch ambipom for gliscor then you take cate of your hera weakness and if you give it taunt then you have glallade covered as well. for metagross, id defenatly keep bullet bunch, it works wonders with choice band. on my meta ive always gotten rid of explosion for t-punch but thats because i usually have another exploder on my team. as for sdluke, i think if you come in early on it then meta/celebi can down it, providing it doesnt have EQ and crunch respectivly.

I used to run that exact 'Nine set
Someone told me that LO is overkill though
Because think about flare blitz damage + LO damage
that's alot
Perhaps consider another item
maybe muscle band/wiseglasses?

IMO HP Electric>Yawn on Vappie. You desperately need a Gyarados counter. If you want to keep Yawn, then switch Celebi to Bold with the EVs switched to defense. This will allow you to even take boosted Ice Fangs, which you currently cant do.

IMO so many things do Arcanine's job better, but props for using something cool. Some examples of fire types are Infernape and Heatran. Heatran is immune to sandstorm, Toxic Spikes and only takes 12.5% from Stealth Rock while Infernape is a great mixed sweeper, much like that Arcanine, with neutrality to Stealth Rock.

If you keep Arcanine make it Choiced or go with the item that boosts fire moves by 20%. 10%+25%+6% is already 41% of your health gone after only 1 attack, and even tho he has average defenses, fire types get hurt by the most common attacks, Surf, EQ, Stone Edge, etc.

There are still people running around with GyaraVire, and I've found Yawn pretty useful to give my team some extra healing time, so I'll work with Celebi instead.

I agree, but I've used Infernape on a couple of teams already, and I have a dislike of Heatran. To be honest I actually love getting beaten or nearly-beaten by UU/BL teams, as I think it's great to see some less-used Pokemon competing so well :)

Point taken, though I can sometimes get in a Wishpass before things are too late. I'll try using a Charcoal and I'll run some calcs to see how many Sp. Atk EVs are needed for Heatran.

Thanks! :D
