Así que ha sido un tiempo chicos ;D

This is the team I have been using for a few days. It has been doing pretty well and honestly it is probably my "Best Team for Platinum". Although it is pretty good I know that there is of course room for improvement. So I am posting this team to get that improvement. So uhhh... Por favor, tasa de.

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/216 Def/52 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Protect
- Stealth Rock

Alright this is pretty much an anti lead. Looking at the Top leads you have something like: Tyranitar, Heatran, Metagross and Infernape. This swampert beats every single one of them. Though it takes a bit of prediction. First of all I usually EQ. Heatran, Metagross and Infernape almost always Stealth Rock first and when I EQ they want to take Swampert out since Swampert is a general pain in the but for any team to handle. So I almost always protect on Turn 2. After that I have a Swampert at 100% ready to take on a dragon or if they mispredict two. You may notice that with my plan I don't Stealth Rock. Well sometimes I do Stealth Rock. Especially against something that can't touch me like Tyranitar. Protect is also nifty for Leftovers gain. Earthquake+Ice Beam gets pretty much perfect coverage in OU and pretty much is all Swampert needs to counter what it needs to counter.

Jirachi @ Expert Belt
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- Fire Punch
- Grass Knot

This is a beautiful wall breaker made by TAY. It usually gives the oponent the impression that it is scarfed which usually nabs it more than one kill per game. Iron Head is nice for the chance of flinching while Ice Punch and Fire Punch give me pretty nice coverage. Grass Knot tears apart stuff like Suicune and Swampert. I usually try to keep this away from stuff like Heatran and Gyarados though since it struggles to do much damage to both... even though Celebi and Infernape hit Gyarados like a nuke with Grass Knot. This is my only steel type meaning that most of the time this is switching into Salamence after it has used Outrage and killed something. Fire Punch does fend off Magnezone for a bit since most people don't like for it to take much damage...if any. This guy has saved me and was the pokemon for which this team was built around.

Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/40 Atk/216 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Pursuit

This guy comes in on stuff like HP Grass Zapdos and laughs basically. Crunch is for some nice STAB action and puts Gengar and friends in their grave. Stone Edge is for flying types and EQ is for just about anything else. This is Blissey switchin #2. I usually let Machamp take care of Blissey though since he is more suited for the job. Pursuit catches fleeing pixies and eats them up (I'm looking at you Azelf and Celebi). This was originally a BabiriTar but I found my self to be incredibly Heatran weak since Swampert couldn't take repeated beatings and it's not like Latias likes the possiblity of being hit with a Dragon Pulse. So I added this guy to the team and honestly this has been 10000 times better in terms of bulk. Machamp hates Psychic types and this guy just laughs at them.

Rotom-h @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball/Light Screen
- Overheat
- Will-o-wisp

Ok this is my Spin Blocker since I like to build up residual damage though he wasn't really put there for spin blocking. He was put there for the ability to counter Mamoswine as well as Lucario+Scizor. Will o Wisp cripples most of his switch ins and helps build up residual damage. Overheat just straight out frys Scizor while Shadow Ball is helpful against Psychic types like Latias. Oh and just for more fun... he counters Gyarados which means more fun for Jirachi :). This guy usually attracts Heatran which means a free switchin for Tyranitar and Swampert. Considering Light Screen just because I feel I have enough physical bulk on this team that I can counter most of the threats in the metagame. This guy also hates when Tyranitar switches in on him which makes Machamp and Swampert very effective at switching in :).

Machamp (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 108 HP/144 Atk/252 Def/4 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Dynamic Punch
- Stone Edge

Yes yes yes...get it all out. Laugh all you want but be warned this is a truly dangerous set when played correctly. Most people look at Low Kick and laugh but thanks to a heavy metagame such as OU... and a status filled one at that this set really does do a lot of damage. Machamp is my primary status absorber. Taking any status happily and attacking with boosted attacks and rock solid defenses (and abs :naughty:). Stone Edge covers any flying types that want to switch in to me. I found the standard EVs to be so weak that I actually scrolled down to the EV's section and found this spread which is more acclimated towards countering Tyranitar and ect. And of course Rest+Sleep Talk allows him to have Recover and attack. Blissey counter #1.

Gave him No Guard and Dynamic Punch.

380.png

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 148 HP/252 Spd/108 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Recover

And finally my late game cleanerupper. Calm Mind on stuff like Celebi and start attacking with either of the two moves. Dragon Pulse gets coverage on everything except steel types which are hit hard by Surf. Obviously HP Fire would give me an unresisted combo but it would leave me to do jackshit to Tyranitar. I wanted to use Wish on this to support Swampert but I found it to be an inferior sweeper. Recover is for recovery. I am just a fan of bulky pokemon which is why I didn't use the offensive spread. Infernape counter as well which I needed desperately.
---

Well that's all! Rate, Comment, Steal. Thanks to Blue Ace for the pics.

I know you believe in Low Kick on Machamp, but Dynamic Punch is superior in almost every way (with No Guard, obviously). If you'd rather not use Dynamic Punch, then I'd recommend changing out Machamp to a different bulky fighter (Hariyama). No Guard Dynamic Punch is really the one and only reason that Machamp is OU.

Sorry this isn't much of a rate. I don't have much time right now. Good luck with the team, and I like the Jirachi xD

LMAO at the Machamp.

Sure Low Kick works on heavy enemies. But what about the light ones.

Dynamic punch is far superior in every reason. Except PP.

Nice team, weaknesses are covered. DD mence can cause you a little trouble though. Maybe not too much.

I personally dislike your ttar evset, i can understand not maxing attack, but it still needs more than the evs which you have provided. Not much point in 216spdef EVS plus nature as sandstorm still increases spdef by 20%, consider rasing the attack EVS so u can nail celebis on the switch

Hopefully your Swampert doesn't faint as your lead, because if it does, you become vulnerable to many physical threats (like Weavile; you don't have a safe switch otherwise).

Crunch is for some nice STAB action and puts Gengar and friends in their grave. Stone Edge is for flying types and EQ is for just about anything else.
What about focus blast? You can't rely on it to miss. The only special flying typing I can even think of is togekiss, who has auro sphere.

In both cases you'd be forced to switch to rotom, if you don't want your T-tar to take a big blow, who won't like shadow ball from gengar anyway (not that togekiss wouldn't switch, however I wouldn't stay in, imo).

T-tar just isn't a very good special wall, especially it being your only one. Blissey shares only your fighting weakness and is immune to ghost moves, which hits two of your pokes super effectively.

Just some thoughts. Good start though (:

I agree with you here.

But i think it is increased by 50%

:

The Point of 252 HP 216 SpDef EVs and Careful Nature was so that Tyranitar can survive a Timid Life Orb-ed Gengar's Focus Blast .

Hope i cleared things up as to why he used that EVs.

What he said. Not only that but Jirachi can even take a hit. Did it ever dawn on you that SR+Sandstorm would take it's toll on these fast but frail sweepers. I don't see how losing Swampert leaves me open to Weavile either... hello Machamp.

I wouldn't count on tyranitar for countering all ghosts and psychi types since many of them carry fighting moves like focus blast. Also its a bit dangerous running swampert as a lead when suicide leads like infernape and azelf can threaten it with grass knot.

Swampert should be 236 HP/216 Def/56 SpA. I don't see much use in Protect,as you should ALWAYS use SR first. Then, if it's a Metagross or Azelf (Who will Explode on you) you can safely switch to Rotom-H, who deals with both of them quite well. SR is way too important to a team like this, as you don't have a designated sweeper (Which is fine) but instead have a group of bulky pokes who can also do damage. Oh, and about Nape leads, LATIAS maybe? Swampert is my lead, so it's fine. Oh and the 236 HP is max lefties recovery. Use Hydropump or Surf over Protectm unless you don't think you're up to the task of predicting an Explosion (Hint: 90% of the time, they set rocks then try to blow you up)

Jirachi seems fine.

T-tar wants 236 HP/216 SpD/56 Atk or Def. Max lefties again. And it's not a 100% percent special wall, as any special attacker with a fighting type move beats him. This means Gengar, Alakazam, and Togekiss. You beat pretty much everything else. Heatran included =] This is also on my team. 8{ Im watching you...

Oh and also about T-tar: With that spread, you have no buisness using Choice Band. I'd go with Leftovers, and this moveset:

~Crunch
~Brick Break
~Rest
~Sleep Talk

You already have Machamp for this, but T-tar becomes an absolute tank with this. Cruch/B-B is amazing coverage, and makes you a 100% Latias and Cresselia counter, as they both use Screens to beat T-tar quite often. If you like your CB, fine. Use your original spread I guess, because you won't have lefties in hand. But I highly recommend this set it rules. OH! you also smash Blissey with this set, even lessening the use for Machamp.

I don't really see why you are using Machamp. Swampert counters T-tar just as well, and with this T-tar set you can take Blissey too. And now that you don't have Guts (Guts is done better by Hariyama anyway IMO) you really could use a more reliable Dragon counter over this guy. Swamperts good, but he's nowhere close to 100%.

Rotom-H is not a Lucario counter w/o a Choice Scarf. It outspeeds and 1HKO's with Crunch after an SD. You're even worse off if it goes straight to the Crunch =/

I use this set:

Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Modest
156 HP/124 SpA/228 Spe
~Thunderbolt
~Overheat
~Trick
~Shadowball/HP: Grass

T-bolt beats Gyara. Overheat beats Scizor, Lucario, and Heracross. Shadowball lets you revenge kill Gengar and friends, and you can switch in on predicted Focus Blasts as well (Hint: Wall combo w/ T-Tar!) Trick is to screw a wall, and you get lefties number after a trick too for extra awesomeness. Enough Spe to beat Positive base 130's with the Scarf, and something else noteworthy w/o it (I dont remember 100%, I think it might be Jolly T-tar?) Good set.

Latias is fine, but what numbers do those non-Spe EV"s hit? They seem kinda weird. Use 252 Spe/140 HP/116 SpA. Hits a lefties number.

Good team, but it's strangely similar to mine. lol

I use Swampert, Rotom-H, and Latias. And SpDTar and Machamp were in the original version O.o Oh and in Jirachi's spot I have Empoleon. So it's strange how incredibly similar our teams are =] Great minds think alike I guess

Thanks for your rate, Royal. Best one so far :].

I'll test out the ScarfRotom though if Lucario comes out and KOs Rotom it can always be revenge killed by Jirachi. Though Rotom-H does carry a huge load and dies before it can counter a lot of stuff because it is too slow.

That Tyranitar lacks the trapping ability and pure power that I have with my current set so no thanks.

I really don't like Lefties numbers that much as they make me give up defensiveness for a little more lefties gain. While protect may seem useless it often saves Swampert by being OHKOd by a surprise move. Also Rotom-H only switches in on explosions if they don't explode when I protect. Otherwise Swampert does that just fine.

Oh and I have 252 Speed on Latias .-.

lol yea I was just restating it in my spread for posterity. And maximum lefties is way more valueable than the 2 HP points you would lose on Latias. If you use latias for even 1 turn it makes up for the lost HP points. Same goes fro Swampert.

I understand the need for a realiable trapper, so your T-tar can stay. And if you get good usage out of Protect on Swapert, go for it =]

Oh and it goes w/o saying that I like your team =]

EDIT: Oh I forgot to make my main point on Maximum Lefties: It allows for increased investment in other stats, which maximizes the amount of usefulness you are getting out of your EV's. That's really why they are so useful. They maximize your effectiveness, even if it's only by a point. It can make a big difference in the long run. But if you're set on not using them, I won't stop you. It's just a prescion thing. =]

I disagree with Rotom not being able to outspeed Lucario. Rotom can run a Timid nature to outspeed Adamant Lucario. The good thing is, as a general rule of thumb, Jolly Lucario only run Ice Punch so you don't have to worry about Lucario both outspeeding you and beating you.

Excellent idea. I'll change that right now. But how much will the loss in bulkiness hurt me? I am Gyarados weak so I do need all the defense I can get. Other than that that sounds like a great idea.

Wow really? I definently didn't pick up on the whole Timid thing >.>

Sorry about that =]

Also, if you are using Latias exclusively for countering Infernape and late-game sweeping (It also makes a fairly good midgame pokemon) you should consider this set:

Latias @Choice Specs
Timid
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
~Dragon Pulse
~Surf
~Trick
~Draco Meteor/Wish/Recover

I know this is the second Tricker I've suggested for this team, and it is in no way better or worse than your current set, butI feel like being helpful after my Rotom blunder. It late game sweeps EXTREMLY well, it's fast, it can screw walls mid-game, and it can either heal after the Trick (Wish) or devastate anything non-resisting during (D-Meteor). It still takes Infernape very well, and adds to the offense of your team.

Just a thought. Again, this isn't me saying that you HAVE to switch to this set. I just felt like giving an extra option. Although, now that I think about it, you probobally already considered it while building this team. Whatev. This thread deserves the mini-bump anyway =]

Yeah I wish some of the more experienced raters would rate this.

Specs seems like a good option but leaves me more open to pursuiters.

Rotom-a needs 188 Speed EVs, which nets you a Speed stat of 280, to outspeed Adamant Lucario. After that, you'll generally want to max out HP since it is Rotom-a's lowest stat (a base 50 - yikes!). And last but not least, just place the leftovers EVs on Defense.

I can't say how good this set will work as a wall since I generally run bulky offense without dedicated walls, but I'm pretty sure it can take one Waterfall from LO Gyara, assuming most run Jolly these days to outspeed Jolteon.

I would definetly keep protect on swampert. The lefties recovery is really useful but mainly because Hp Grass is becomming much more popular.

I would suggest using a Dual Screen Wishing Latias because only one member on your team can recover.
If you are using stealth rock, you don't need the 52SpA evs on Swampert and you could really use the defense if you plan on taking DDMence Outrages.
