15th Council will last until inauguration post of 16th.

The purpose of this thread will be to identify applicants for the ASB Council prior to a forum vote. We hope that you will strive to bring life to Policy Center in general if you join, and vote for the candidates whom you think will work for that same goal.

  • Activity: Applicants must be consistently active in ASB. Applicants must utilise IRC/Discord/PMs for the purpose of communication with fellow Councillors. Applicants must not be users prone to leaving on frequent or unannounced breaks. Do not apply if you can already foresee yourself being inactive for long intervals, and please state explicitly how much time you are willing and able to devote to Policy issues on a regular basis in your application posts.
  • Longevity: Applicants must have been involved with ASB for a lengthy duration of time. This duration of time is arbitrary, but important. In essence, we want Council members to have an understanding of the history of ASB. This may be the least important of the three criteria - newer Council members can supplement historical knowledge by referring to older players of the game.
  • Knowledge: This is a critical criterion. Applicants must be knowledgeable about the mechanics of ASB, and about balance and so forth. This can be demonstrated in various ways, including battling prowess. One must have a concept of balance in ASB, and must be rational and level-headed in such matters and discussions.
When applying, please try to adhere, as much as possible, to the underlined guidelines above, about why you are a worthy applicant and why you would do well on the Council.

The process will be: vote for the first 3 people on the Council in the first vote, the 4th and 5th members in a second vote, and (only if there are more than 10 14 applications) the 6th and 7th voters in the final vote, thereby accounting for changes in vote strategy based on prior members.

With that said, apply away! Applications will last at least 48 hours, at which point the first series of votes will occur.

Activity: All of you know that I'm around on Discord about 99% of the time, so rather active. As far as actually doing things, I'm still the current workmule of Council #15 -.- as well as working on my RPs, running gyms, battling, and reffing, so I'm definitely here
Longevity: gotta be nearing 2.5 years if not already over it
Knowledge: As a major ref (at least in the past) and the resident "sub questions" guy in discord, I consider my knowledge of the mechanics of ASB to be pretty good.
 
Activity: I've been active for a long time, only taking some occasional breaks.
Longevity: How long have I been here? I've been wandering the streets of these forums for many years, always asking myself how I got here and why I stay.
Knowledge: Okay I'll admit that my knowledge of the metagame has taken something of a nosedive, but I do know the intricacies of the game and how they work.
 
Activity: I'm active on both the forum and discord, and am frequently involved in meta discussion.
Longevity: Almost as much of a dinosaur as Smash.
Knowledge: Years of battle and tournament experience, as well as having been a previous gym leader and a former member of the ASB Council. I am also currently training to apply for another gym leader position.
 
I'm bored and wont back out on my own dis time

Activity: I don't sleep.
Longevity: Started in 2015 and done a lot during those 2-almost 3 years.
Knowledge: Ref everything except for like one thing (Pike), I run two gyms and people usually ask me question bout mechanics.

Knowledge: Bad gym leader, does ok in tournaments occasionally, etc etc

The council needs a naysayer, so, against my better judgement, I am applying.

but don't expect me to do grunt work.

Activity: Even when I am inactive I am active. Check the number of times I got DQ'd of something and get back to me.
Longevity: 7 years and counting.
Knowledge: Perfect Gym Run. Not as good tourney run, but you can't have good looks and be good everywhere. While I have seen certainly better days as far as my abilities are concerned, I believe/hope I can hold my own against most around.
 
Y’all need someone to yell at you when you overrun. Applying. Please see any previous council app since I doubt much has changed and sod copy-pasting format at 1 am to say “I’m easily accessible, I have been here for like 7 years now, and see above for a guess as to knowledge”
 
Yay I knew waiting overtime is a calculated good idea I totally wasn't swamped IRL And with 7 applications from all sorts of cranky old lifeforms, we move to Voting.
