Data Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer (ASB Version)

@Terrador: is there a link to the IRC? Or is it on PO or something?

I didn't find anything during my search through the rules though I have heard about it from everywhere.

http://cgiirc.synirc.net Go to here. Choose a nickname and set the channel to #capasb. That should do it, unless the spambot assault is still on by the time you read this. If so, then you're screwed. Sorry. :[

Yeah. It looks like that for a while you need to register a nickname to go on any synirc channel. Sorrybro.

I will VM you when it gets fixed. We always want new users.

Anyway, this is getting off topic.

Is it possible to bodyblock a taunt? Because I'm pretty skeptical about that...

I asked that question in a battle that happened a while ago, and I think it was decided that yes, you can, since for a Taunt to work, the taunter needs to be in the tauntee's line of sight.

If a paralyzed pokemon uses a move on one action, tries to uses a different move on the second but hits the paralysis RNG, and gets encored on the third, would he use the first move or the second?

Data Audit Thread said:
Lava Plume: The Pokemon creates an explosion around it, causing smoke and fire to hit everything in the field. The smoke blinds all affected Pokemon and the fire has a chance of burning them.
Does this indicate an accuracy drop? It seems to imply that, but it doesn't in-game.

It shouldn't have a drop of any kind attached, especially not accuracy.

Try not to be fooled when DAT descriptions get too... flavorful. If they meant accuracy, you'd see the words "drops Accuracy by one (1) stage."

How do accuracy drops work?
I can't find anything about them in the DAT.
You start with a fraction of 3/3. For each negative stage of accuracy, you add one to the denominator. For each positive stage, you add one to the numerator. Then, you multiply this fraction by the base accuracy of the move.

Another example: A Stone Edge (80% accuracy) used by a pokemon at -1 accuracy (*3/4 = 60%) against a pokemon with a -speed nature (add a flat 10% to the accuracy) will be 70% accurate.

In a triples battle with positioning, if a Pokemon shifts from the middle to the far left, can an opposing Pokemon on the far right hit it with an attack?

With relative to positioning...
Team A: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle
Team B: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile

Totodile is ordered to use Waterfall on Charmander on Action 2.

Action 1: Charmader shifts positions with Bulbasaur. New positions are Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle.
Action 2: Totodile goes and uses Waterfall on Charmander.

Can Totodile hit Charmander with his attack? Will it hit the Bulbasaur that took its place? Or will the attack fail entirely?
