Okay thanks to you guys for your answers, I have an idea now on what I'm going to do with him. The SD set deschain said, but I'm maybe thinking Facade over Spore, so I can nail som flyer switch ins so he can come out later and hurt stuff. Otherwise Spore's looking good as with the hypnosis drop people aren't as anti sleep anymore.

Eh, I'll work it out. Thanks guys.

Its such a bummer, I went to the UK Event Shaymin at game stores today and they wouldn't give me a Shaymin cause my platinum, pearl and diamond are US version
Anyway, here is my question
In a single battle, if 2 pokemon switch at the same time, which 1 switches first?

the one that's faster switches out first.

So I'm new to breeding and such, and I am chain breeding.
I would just like to know which characteristic will the baby be if it has two or more 31 ivs?

i'm not quite sure what you're asking.

not without an AR code.
Well in the breeding guide, certain characteristics tell you what your highest stat is, and what number it ends in.
(i.e Capable of Taking Hits means defense is your highest stat and ends in 1 or 6)
Which characteristic will it be if there are two 31 ivs? Or will i not matter?

EDIT: Thanks HaunterFan

Are they any guides other than the one in the articles section that i can read about breeding?

Find a site with the sprites on it. Right click on properties. Copy the url there. Then when posting, click on the button of the mountain and paste in what you copied from the properties. That is how I do it.

I have a Magmar with Flame Body as my lead Pokemon, but my Gible egg took 5587 steps to hatch instead of 5120. I thought that the amount of steps is supposed to be halved?

Quick question:

Imagine a double battle with a pokemon, with the ability Water Absorb, hiding behind a substitute. If his teammate uses Surf, does the poke behind the sub regain HP?

@Justice X: It doesn't work that way. It's the egg counter that gets cut in half. Every 255 steps the egg counter goes down by 1. If you are only hatching 1 Gible at a time (i.e. only 1 egg in your current party), the Gible is supposed to hatch in ((10240 / 256) / 2 + 1) * 255 = 5355 steps. If you're hatching more than one egg at a time, then the number of steps will generally be higher than 5355 unless you get your eggs exactly every 255 (or a multiple of that) steps.

@mario01: Yes, the water absorb pokemon will recover health while under a sub.

Alright, thanks. A few other questions:

1. If I have a female Jolly Gible and a male Adamant Salamence at the Day Care and equip Everstone to the Gible, then each baby will have 50% chance to be Jolly nature right?

2.The first 4 babies were Modest, Bashful, Mild, and Jolly. I only wanted Jolly Gible so I soft reseted after all 4 eggs were hatches. But this time I didn't take the first 3 eggs knowing, or at least thinking, that they will be Modest, Bashful, and Mild. So I start taking the eggs starting from the 4th one and took 5. But to my surprise the first one is not Jolly but rather Modest. The other 4 were Sassy, Serious, Docile, and Lax. Why is that?

3. Is there any way, involving soft reseting, to manipulate the nature of the eggs so that you can only get the one you wanted?

Egg game in platinum

Hey guys, 2 questions
1. I have heard that in pokemon platinum their is a egg game where 3 players toss 3 eggs into a machine and they randomly go to the other trainers, kinda like a egg trade but you don't know what you'll get
Is this game true and if it is, where on platinum is it?
2. If 2 pokemon switch at the same time in a single battle, which poke switches first?

@ Justice_X: I don't do any in game stuff so you might want to check my response against the breeding guide, but if you save right before the daycare man gives you your egg, everything is set except for IVs, including nature. So you can SR that way. From your Gible example, I guess this only works for one egg at a time.

For your first question, I believe the answer is yes, check the on'site breedin guide.

@A.ustin: To be clear, it will show a random characteristic among those that are 31, not just any random characteristic.

@Erazor: I always assumed that TyraniBOAH got its name from the user BOA on smogon, though I've also heard that it's some acronym from the moveset, though I can't imagine what.

Off Topic: yay First post ;) !!

Back on topic, If I have a Pokemon with Leaf Guard/Hydration while it is Sunny/Raining and use Rest, will I not go to sleep or wake up while still getting full HP from Rest?

Leaf Guard/Hydration heals status at the end of the turn, not prevents it. You'll go to sleep, then wake up at the end of the turn.

Is this uxie any good for a double screen set or a support set?

Uxie (Relaxed)
HP: 4 - 5
Att: 28 - 29
Def: 26 - 27
SpA: 22 - 23
SpD: 29
Speed: 8 - 9

More Hp?

Leaf Guard/Hydration heals status at the end of the turn, not prevents it. You'll go to sleep, then wake up at the end of the turn.

Just for clarification, Hydration works like that but Leaf Guard doesn't. If you use Rest while its raining, Hydration will wake you up at the end of the turn, as it heals status during rain. However, Leaf Guard prevents status in the sun from your opponent, meaning it won't cure your self-induced sleep, just prevent your opponent's Thunder Wave, etc from affecting you.
