hello, i have a question for you.

Should I run superpower or brick break on my SD scizor? I prefer BB's Screen shattering, as well as no defense/attack drop. Superpower does come in handy with its greatly increased power though.

So, what do you think?

Hi guys. I'm replaying FireRed, and I was looking for a good team. I need these move types on my team: grass psychic ghost electric fight ice water fire

to cover all of the gym leaders, elite four and trainers in the game with ease. I need them on my main team of six pokemon. Also, I'm going to need to fit all hm moves on those same pokemon. They are (for reference): cut flash roch smash fly surf strength waterfall

So can you guys guys please help me make this team? Either that, or can the nice people at smogon can give me their team that they used (preferably one that can hold all of the hms). Thanks in advance.

Depends on your starter. If you choose Squirtle, you can just teach Blastoise surf and waterfall along with ice beam. Get a Gengar and you can teach it psychic, shadow ball and thunderbolt. Machamp with cross chop, Arcanine with flamethrower or fire blast and Victreebel with razor leaf or pedal dance. Get Fearow and teach it fly. cut, flash and rock smash are really not that useful throughout the game. You can give strength to some random pokemon that I mentioned.

Thanks so much. I was about to go: charizard, slowbro (transfer), primape, onix, gengar, pikachu.

I don't want to bother the mods with PMs but I hope it's okay here. Tutoring Round 42 ends on "August 10th," does that mean that there will be sign ups tonight? Tomorrow? Or are there usually a few days between rounds? I don't really want to sit here refreshing all night but I don't want to miss sign ups either...

Is there any reason why, when finding IV's, instead of using rare candies you put the 'mon in the daycare until he raises a few levels, then put the stats in a calc? I've never seen this strategy in a guide, and I feel like it's much easier than the rare candy way since they're not easy to find. So is there a drawback to using the daycare? Thanks!

The draw back is the huge time consuming it would take to daycare a Pokemon to lv 50-100, and that may take a few days to a week. If you've plenty of rare candies, like say 50-100 rare candies, you can check the IV in 10-15 mins. There are a few programs you could use to check for IV, but it'll get into the discussion of AR/PokeSav, etc. Most people frowns upon those terms, until they've realize that it's a huge time saver, and Pokemon is...Pokemon. A game.

Btw, Lv 10 doesn't even offer accurate IV to a Pokemon. Get it to lv 50, or even better 100. And of course, you soft reset when you've recorded the lv 100 stats.

As far as I know we're still using the one at www.metalkid.info most of the time, and yes, Fire Fang hits wondertomb, at least on D/P. I don't believe anyone tested it on Plat since honestly we don't really CARE here.

hi i was wondering if theres a good rain dance specially based kingdra that can take out blissey i HAVE read all sets of the analysis and tryed most of them but i want one like idk rain dance/hydro pump/outrage/draco meteor
but can out speed scarfed jirachi in the rain.
is that possible

Hey,
I was just wondering: how long does your streak at the Battle Tower in Diamond/Pearl have to be to get the star on your trainer card? I'm going for black, and I just wanted to know.

I've got two.

Where's the damage calc that Smogon uses and how does fire fang hit wondertomb?

Actually most of Smogon uses this because MetalKid's calculator still tends to overshoot damage a little bit, I believe (though he may have fixed this).

As to HOW Fire Fang hits Wondertomb...isn't that like asking how does any move hit any Pokemon? The programming of the game allows/disallows it.

You have two different ways to go here, really. You can go for the 2HKO without Stealth Rock but with Leftovers or just the 2HKO with Stealth Rock and Leftovers.

w/o SR

Kingdra@Life Orb
Swift Swim
Rash (Mild could work, but then switching into Scizor is more of a pain)
172 Atk / 172 SpA / 164 Spe
-Rain Dance
-Waterfall
-Hydro Pump/Surf
-Draco Meteor

w/ SR
Rash (or Mild) 92 Atk / 252 SpA / 164 Spe

Obviously the first set will hit harder with Waterfall, as well.

If I have a pokemon out that doesn't have the Levitate ability, isn't part Flying and isn't holding a Shed Shell, and I expect Dugtrio to switch in, can I switch out in the same turn? e.g.:

I have a Registeel out, against my opponents Roserade (or whatever). I expect them to switch in Dugtrio as I've seen it eariler (or know they have one).

If my opponent does switch Dugtrio in as his next action, can I also make a switch as my next action or would I be considered having gone after my opponent and waste a turn? Thank you.
