It's because since you've used your AR on Platinum so many times, it too glitched to do anything more on it. You can only do so many hacks to a game before it wears out.

Oh, and dm2, if I may add something. Even it it was released in America, its stats are too high for OU gameplay and its ability Multitype will allow it to change to any type.

I've only had it for a few days, but I've used it on plat.

I've tested and confirmed: the birds, Heatran and Cresselia. Haven't done Giratina but many people have. The official guide says all the legendaries do this, and since a fair portion have been confirmed, I'd imagine they all do. Interestingly, just leaving Newmoon Island is enough to get Darkrai back there.

So, does this mean you can catch multiples of each legendary? Or do they only respawn if defeated/run from?

Do you mean "How do you start a thread?"

If so, then there are three steps:

1) Make sure you have a topic that will provoke discussion and doesn't already have a thread of its own

2) Make sure your opening post is coherent

3) Click on the "New Thread" button above the announcements, on the left.

Oh, you mean linking to a single post? Do you see the post number in the upper right hand corner of each post? click it and it will open a page with just that one post. Copy the link from the address bar and you're good to go.

they are not making a "single post"
the post that is linked was in a thread among other posts, but the link only shows you the one post.
So you would have to post somewhere where it would not be removed and then link it too that post.

I know all about EVs at level 100, but for battle tower use (ie. Level 50), does 8 EVs always constitute a stat point?

Yes 8 ev's constitutes 1 stat point at level fifty.

How can you determine if a Pokemon you received from trade is legitimate? What do you usually do to check after initiating a trade?

There really isn't a reasonable 100% way to check. There are hack checks but even those can be beaten. You need to be able to trust who you are trading from. For the most part, anyone w/ an open shop in Smogon's WiFi forums is a reliable source. You just have to be smart yourself. Look at your Mon's info and make sure it looks alright.
