If you get hit during focus punch it just says "X lost it's focus"
So I think that it doesn't activate the ability.

And yes, those EV calculations are correct.

a jirachi with macho brace and pokerus is battling 5 bidoofs. it would get (1 x 2)2= 4 per each bidoof = 20 HP EVs?

yeah that's true, they double up.

yes- 1 x 2 = 2 x 2 = 4 x 5 = 20 Hp evs

or 50 evs if you use power weight ( at least i think its called weight)

(1+4)2 = 10 x 5 = 50
