This should be relatively simple. If someone used Fake Out, it would still have less priority and not hit through Protect, right? So if the lead of the foe is a Protect Ninjask, an Ambipom would just be wasting a turn if it used Fake Out, correct?

Thanks! I think I'm gonna go with the first one because it'll take much less time to assemble, even with a lower HP stat than they want.
(I'm pretty sure the EV's were more spread out than the guy told me... her HP is a bit high for what he said, and her sp. def and speed a bit low. I think maybe 126 hp/252 sp atk (bad for that set, I know... but although it's less than optimal, I can still make it work.)/76 sp def/50 speed)

Also thinking of breeding it, though would the IV's transfer from the mother?

Yes, but chances of all of them are like... 2.5% or something, iirc.

But 100% guaranteed baby gets 1 from the mother.

You would keep two random IVs from the mother, two random IVs from the father. Two would be randomly generated. So you're only going to keep a 1/3 near-perfectness, and you loose the shine.

Awww... screw this, it's already hacked to hell - Is there any way to just have someone edit the damn thing to get it to what I want it to be? (and lower some of the IV's a bit in the process to make it more... fair)

I know this forum disapproves of that kind of stuff, but I have no intention of trading it - I just love the poke and want a good one.

What's a "Glass Cannon?"

An example is Rampardos, if it helps for reference.
It's called a metaphor. Why does no one get the English language these days?
Just imagine a "Glass Cannon". As powerful as a cannon is, it's made of fucking glass. High attack, no survivability. Get it?

I get the picture of a cannon firing glass...

Oh, well. Thanks. I'm thinking of using Rampardos now.

For some reason, I've always heard the term "Glass Sword" instead of "Glass Cannon". . .

:)

Also to add:

Urban Dictionary said:
Refers to a person, weapon, or vehicle which has a high output, but a low defense, life, durability, etc.

This is a question for you, Boa, since you're good with math:

How many EVs would it take for a 20 IV (worst case scenario for my Koffing, best case is 26) Weezing to OHKO a Gyarados with Thunderbolt? Or should I just use Thunder despite its low accuracy?

EDIT: I forgot to say thanks in advance! :)

I know how you feel.

Not really, as I just want badly a shiny Gardevoir, but don't have one x_x

Well, you could ask someone with an Action Replay DS or a R4 to edit your Gardevoir using Pokesav. I even could do it for you, but without any Wi-Fi hotspots here... Sorry.

Considering the standard Gyarados is 384 HP/236 SDef, you would need more EVs than you can get (max damage would be 93%). So, just go with Thunder. Using it, Weezing would need 104 EVs to have a chance of OHKOing Gyarados (85-100% damage).

Well, I'm 0 for 2 with GFAQs trades - though one of them (Shiny Arceus) was blatantly hacked. I guess I'll go to Target, the one near here sells AR for $20... though I REALLY didn't wanna start cheating at this game.

You sure you don't mean Double-Edged Sword?

lol at Urban Dictionary quote

Couldn't Focus Sash Rampardos work with Endeavor at 1 HP for an easy kill-off with the switch-in?

No, I've actually seen the term Glass Sword used before.

I don't think Rampardos can learn Endeavor (correct me if I'm wrong).

Rampardos gets endeavor by leveling up

It does? Rampardos even fits the acronym of FEAR! :)

Rampardos probably needs all of the attacks it can get (Rock Polish and Stone Edge are guaranteed on Focus Sash Rampardos), so most sets will probably want to run another attack instead of Endeavor.

Rampardos is too slow to pull off an endeavor. i dont know about enigma berry.. :(

Rock Polish + Focus Sash Turn 1, ownage on Turn 2.

FEAR=What?

Ferocious
Eradicative
Awe-inspiring
Raper

I see your point, but I think it's easier than breeding for Crunch, or just getting kamikazed by Head Smash.

You lose Rampardos almost anyway, but I think this way is pretty good for something you don't think you can kill in one hit.

Two questions:

1 - Would something like Double Hit disable focus sash? So if theres a focus sash Rampardos, and Ambipom does some kind of godly double hit, would it KO it or would it hang on with focus sash.

2 - If you see a Gyarados, and you have an obviously faster Thunderbolter or something, are you supposed to actually thunder bolt or suspect a switch to Electrivire/ground type/Jolteon?

Don't know about 1, but I would assume it doesn't.

2 - Based on around 2 week old statistics, 15 of every 21 Gyarados are covered by the Electivire Motor Drive Insurance Plan. I'd say it would be safe to switch to a physical wall.
